Yes I've seen that. But a day trader is not the same as a day worker is it??
Actually I don't know what either are in this case. I don't believe he worked in the stock market, but that's what a day trader is to me. Maybe some street jargon.
I don’t know either. So I called on my friend Google:
Day traders usually buy on borrowed money, hoping that they will reap higher profits through leverage, but running the risk of higher losses too. While day trading is neither illegal nor is it unethical, it can be highly risky.

Most individual investors do not have the wealth, the time, or the temperament to make money and to sustain the devastating losses that day trading can bring.

  • Day trading is an extremely stressful and expensive full-time job

Day traders must watch the market continuously during the day at their computer terminals. It's extremely difficult and demands great concentration to watch dozens of ticker quotes and price fluctuations to spot market trends. Day traders also have high expenses, paying their firms large amounts in commissions, for training, and for computers. Any day trader should know up front how much they need to make to cover expenses and break even.

Can't see why baby V would have been taken if she was simply an afterthought. She isn't old enough to tell anyone what she saw, and may not have witnessed anything anyway. Why not kill her at the scene too? Did the perp feel bad enough to remove her from the scene after he/she killed her mom? Doesn't make sense. Makes me think she was the target. MOO
That's what I'm afraid of too.

AMBER Alert posters are hung up at many of the stores in a strip mall off of Division Street.

And workers tell us they believe her mom used to run errands here.

“It almost feels personal because somebody we’ve seen. It’s sad. It’s a sad thing to see,” said Dave Chauhan, owner of Ansonia Wine & Liquor.

“I’ve been to other businesses and the poster has been everywhere. So I’m just appreciative the community is doing everything they can,” said Chauhan.

Interesting thought that V was the original target. That idea, at least, offers hope, which I'm gradually losing.

If V was the target, is there evidence CH knew her child was in danger? No mention of a sexual assault so what was the reason she was killed and so violently? Was V the target? Where is the weapon? Prints?

Or, was the child an after thought, as in, "Now what?" What would a murderer do with a small child? Who would care for a child, knowing the mother had been murdered, and the story is all over the news? Doesn't seem Dad has her. Doesn't seem relatives have her. Who? Weird things have happened with strangers - Jamie Closs, for example.

I think the extreme violence, strongly indicates that CH was the primary target. That shows rage, and points to a strong attacker. It also seems to indicate that this was very personal.

This wasn’t only murder, but it was overkill.

“Now what?” Seems about right.

Definitely. But someone here said that surely police are watching places like hospitals and fire stations. I think police would let anyone take a child into a hospital, and all you'd have to do is wrap the child in a blanket to obscure her identity anyway. Drop her in the hospital, walk away. A nurse will notice her and look around to find a parent, and when they can't find one, then they'll call the police while comforting the child and getting her physically checked over. By the time a police officer arrives, the person who took her in could be long gone.

There's a grieving family out there who love little Vanessa, and they need and deserve to know she's okay, and to be reunited with her. Vanessa has to come first above everything else, including the needs and fears of whoever has her.
Hospital security is much tighter than it used to be. My local hospital has a security desk just steps away from the door. You cannot just walk in without stating your business.

So I think a busy restaurant might be a better option for someone. JMO

Yah, I'm not buying him as an actual 'day trader' in the stock market. It is likely slang for drug dealer over something.

urban dictionary=Day trader=A person who enters the market mid day and buys beer and lottery tickets.

I agree with much of the above----but if the baby was the target, why so much rage and violence against the mother? I'd think the kidnapper would just want to get in and out quickly, if his goal was to get away free and clear with the baby.

I'm thinking the perp knew the mother and child very well. Had rage for the mother but love for the child. He couldn't bring himself to harming the baby-at first.

But then what could he do? Was he forced to dispose of her because there were no other options?

If someone didn't want to be seen on camera, they could give the baby to a group of moms or ladies at a park and say, "please watch her while I run to the car. I forgot our snacks and toys" and then just drive away. A couple of ladies would for sure get her to safety. MOO.

It’s been one week since one-year-old Vanessa Morales of Ansonia disappeared. Today detectives returned to the home where her mother was found dead. The community is stepping up to help in the search for the child. #NBCCT

Right. I too think killer knew Christine very well. This is personal. No doubt in my mind. Killer must have violent tendencies. This kind of rage could not have been hidden from those around him throughout his life. I guess people can snap and turn away from their nature. I don’t see it here. Someone in his inner circle knows his personality traits.

I read Christine’s obit. Her life story is remarkable. She has a degree in Psychology among other accolades. What was the mutual attraction about? What was the commonality? I can hardly imagine a relationship between the two. How did they meet? So many relationships begin on an equal basis - Evolving into a dynamic where one person gains the power in the relationship. I think Christine naturally grew into her power. I think killer unnaturally took back his power.

I feel very confident personally that mom was the target, not baby V. There are so many easier ways to kill someone if you want the baby. What was done shows an incredible amount of rage - it was personal. Moo.

What's the snow like in CT? A child's body might not be recovered until spring. How awful.

It's not much, at least not in the bottom half of the state where this occurred. And we've just had 24 hours of rain. It's mostly gone. (There is none in my yard, I'm less than 2 miles from CH's home.)

For our legal experts:

If a person is being held in custody for, say a parole violation, perhaps a weapons violation, could police ask that person to turn over their phone? And if that person agreed and police found evidence of a separate crime on the phone, would that evidence be enough for an arrest? Would the evidence be admissible in court? Could police request a search warrant for the phone after they’ve already inspected it and seen the evidence?

They'd get a warrant for his phone, I would guess under most any circumstances. So they don't end up with evidence thrown out for unreasonable search and seizure. If, say, a probation officer, who has the right to look at a phone, sees evidence of a crime, they could violate the person (return them to custody for parole/probation violation) and then a warrant could be obtained by LE investigating the crime, yes.

in this tweet and subsequent pictures, is that JM standing opposite of LE in the black and gray clothing?
I will admit I’m tired and my eyes may be playing tricks on me, so can someone else give it a second look? Please

I don't know if it's him, but given that we're just ending a month of cops growing beards for charity and he doesn't appear to be cuffed or anything, I would bet money it's a LEO.

Could it be a former partner of VM:s father being involved, getting rid of both his new partner as well as his child? In a well-known case of the killing of two small children and assault of their mother here in Sweden, the perpetrator was a woman who was/had been in love with the mother's partner, she had used a hammer in the crime: Christine Schürrer - Wikipedia
