Woman seriously injured after mistaking stick of dynamite for a candle, police say

A Connecticut woman has been seriously injured after lighting a stick of dynamite she thought was a candle, police have said.

The woman suffered severe injuries to her face and hand, which may result in the loss of at least one finger.

This is terrible imo, someone moved out of the residence and left dynamite behind. This woman and her family thought they were candles so attempted to light one during a black-out.

Hoping she can collect on negligence charges in the near future.

Not sure how she could mistake dynamite for candles? I mean, the texture between the two are different, plus wick size.
