This is a miracle that he is doing so well! And doing well neurologically. Thank goodness for those first responders.

I am so happy he seems to be recovering well! I don’t pray much, but I have been since about 9:30 Monday night. He will soon know how he brought together so so many people, brought attention to CPR/AED use, brought about gratitude for first responders, and I would venture to say, made many people grateful for lots of different things.

Released from Cincinnati hospital today! Looks like he will stay in the hospital for now but in his hometown of Buffalo NY. From above:

Members of Damar Hamlin’s health care team said he is recovering even faster than they’d hoped.

Hamlin had his breathing tube removed early Friday morning, and by Friday afternoon, he was walking with assistance around the medical unit where he was being treated, his doctors said at a news conference Monday.

Dr. Timothy Pritts, a surgeon who has treating Hamlin at UC Health, said he is “continuing to regain strength. He’s certainly on what we consider a very normal to even accelerated trajectory from the life-threatening event that he underwent, but he's making great progress.”

If you watched the Bengals @ Bills playoff game Sunday you saw Damar Hamlin in attendance. The crowd, both Bills fans and Bengals fans, stood and cheered when Damar was shown on the big screen.

Jessie Pegula reveals her mother, Bills & Sabres co-owner Kim Pegula, suffered cardiac arrest in June ‘22 that required Jessie’s sister, Kelly, to apply CPR, saving Kim’s life. Jessie writes that Kim is still dealing with significant expressive aphasia & significant memory issues

"The thought of what Damar and his family were about to go through hurt my heart," wrote Pegula, who was in Australia for The Australian Open at the time. "I knew how important time was. I just kept thinking time, time, time, time. I hope they got him back and quick enough. The medical staff and trainers who assisted that night really saved his life and were tremendous in his recovery."

Pegula wore a No. 3 patch in honor of Hamlin during The Australian Open, where she reached the quarterfinals.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin kicked off a multicity tour at his home stadium on Saturday to distribute medical equipment and promote techniques that helped save his life in January.

Hamlin handed out automated external defibrillators for close to 50 youth sports and community organizations on the Bills’ field at Highmark Stadium at the event launching his Chasing M’s Foundation CPR Tour.

The launch event included free CPR training for more than 1,000 people. Additional stops on Hamlin’s tour are planned for New York City, Pittsburgh, where Hamlin attended college, and Cincinnati, where six months ago Hamlin went into cardiac arrest and was resuscitated on the field during a game.
