Everyone keeps dismissing the DNA from the third search. A chest was found, there is blood on it as according to DR. We don't know everything that was found, but we also know technology needs advancement to test these items. And that is where it still stands today. Maybe too early to be having pity on this guy. We know alot of other killers were sweethearts too.

Advanced technology is telling me that whatever evidence they were able to recover is very delicate. What are we testing exactly? A splotch of blood or speckles of blood on a chest? Had someone in the rassier family tried to clean it off once? How old could it be? Did they also find something else? I don't know. As far as DR being a sweetheart, yeah it is possible, he is well received at work and from people close to him. It's too bad if he had a hand in this, I'd like to know why and what happened if that is the case.

Having been around crime scenes (as foot prints are part of forensics), one of the things forensics experts struggle with is blood evidence that has been cleaned up with bleach. You used to need a large body fluid sample to run DNA testing, in just a few short years, the needed sample is rather small and can be much older. Just tossing this out as a potential cause of the wait for advanced technology. The other big advance is the use of scanning lasers. One scans the entire crime scene to digitize and store the exact placement of every item in the crime scene in 3D. You all may have seen this on TV. The second and newer technology is using a laser scanner on a portable Coordinate Measuring Machine arm to scan foot prints, plaster casts, tires etc. The laser mapping of these items can be compared in 3D to each other.

While I am not always convinced that profiling works, the profile done for Jacob's abductor said there would be a history of such assaults and most likely failed attempts. Moreover, the profile suggested that there would be significant personal stressors at the time of Jacob's abduction and there are physical characteristics that match the eyewitness descriptions. This profile fits DH from beginning to end. I'm not sure why people persist in trying to fit DR into this scenario. The stupidest thing in the world would be to kidnap a neighbor child in front of two other people in your own driveway.
