Daphne was last seen in Oakland, California on July 10, 2013. Her father stated that he left her in the car with his elderly, disabled mother while he ran into a convenience store for a few minutes. When he returned, Daphne was gone. Witnesses say they may have seen a woman walking away with Daphne. An AMBER Alert was issued, but that woman has not been located.
Daphne's father was arrested and charged with child endangerment for leaving Daphne in the car. He was later released. Witnesses came forward and said that they had not seen Daphne for a few weeks prior to her disappearance. Despite a major search and the AMBER Alert, Daphne has not been found.
