His daughter is making her way now. Katie Cassidy - she was on the new Melrose Place and now she is on Gossip Girl. Very pretty girl.
I love David Cassidy...still![]()
I guess it didn't occur to him that people also die in drunk driving accidents.
I hate to hear this.
He always seemed like a nice guy. I think that his father was an alcoholic.....Jack Cassidy........maybe died in a fire?
me too!
Here's his mug shot....

Yes, his father, Jack, did die in a fire back in the 70s. Apparently he came home, lit a cigarette and fell asleep on the couch, which caught fire after that. It doesn't say in the Wiki article that he had been drinking, but I remember hearing back then that he had been drinking heavily that night.

He looks rough. (but smirking)

Not rough, just old... You can really see it in the wrinkles around his eyes and his receding hair line. He was soooo cute in 1970, with his long shaggy hair and his boyish face. I was gaga over him!!!He looks rough. (but smirking)

What happened to his lips? :lipssealed:
This thread got me reminiscing - something niggling in the back of my tired old brain, I finally found this:
August 11, 2008
David was the Guest Speaker at the 2nd Annual Gala for The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Council of Saratoga County, Inc.
Cassidy, his wife Sue, and son Beau were the special guests. He delivered an important message. David spoke about growing up as the child of an alcoholic. He eloquently shared that experience with the crowd of about 250.
What no one knew or expected came when he revealed that he himself was addicted and just finished treatment at the Betty Ford Center. His wife and son joined him on the podium and, with tears and hugs, expressed their gratitude at having been able to share their story and asked for the crowd's ongoing support. They received a standing ovation followed by many hugs and handshakes, until finally, still emotional, they said their goodbyes.
