Yes, his father, Jack, did die in a fire back in the 70s. Apparently he came home, lit a cigarette and fell asleep on the couch, which caught fire after that. It doesn't say in the Wiki article that he had been drinking, but I remember hearing back then that he had been drinking heavily that night.

I once counted everything in 12s (like my steps, M&Ms, etc) just because Donnie was 12! I used to imagine him sitting behind me on my mini-bike as I sped around a field, jumping little ramps I'd set up. Funny now because I'm betting that Donnie Osmond has never been on a mini-bike in his life.

I have a hilarious personal anecdote about Bobby Sherman and Bridget Hanley (Here Come the Brides), but I think I'll save that one for now.

As for David and his face, looks to me like it has been lifted a few times.

Haha...my daughter works for a TV station and called me last week and said that she had just met David Cassidy at the station. He was there doing a morning show. She was just really shocked at how short he was!

This thread got me reminiscing - something niggling in the back of my tired old brain, I finally found this:

David was the Guest Speaker at the 2nd Annual Gala for The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Council of Saratoga County, Inc.

Cassidy, his wife Sue, and son Beau were the special guests. He delivered an important message. David spoke about growing up as the child of an alcoholic. He eloquently shared that experience with the crowd of about 250.

What no one knew or expected came when he revealed that he himself was addicted and just finished treatment at the Betty Ford Center. His wife and son joined him on the podium and, with tears and hugs, expressed their gratitude at having been able to share their story and asked for the crowd's ongoing support. They received a standing ovation followed by many hugs and handshakes, until finally, still emotional, they said their goodbyes.

His lips? When my daughter saw him last week I asked her how he looked. She said, "He's had a LOT of work done." Those lips have probably been stretched to within an inch of their life! :floorlaugh:
