New Baden-Clay witness. Julie Ann Tzvetkoff @abcnews Mr Mason heard dogs howling & mumbled voice late at night near where Allison found.

Mumbled voice? Singular? Who was the voice mumbling to? An accomplice? Or the (hopefully) inanimate Allison?

This is starting to get intriguing....

Does anyone know what that means in dog language? What sort of things make dogs howl?

Howls
Howling may provide long-range communication with other dogs or owners. Howling can be used to locate another pack member, to keep strangers away, or to call the pack for hunting. Some dogs howl when they have separation anxiety.

And this one :(

The howling of a dog on an eerie dark moonless night would make your hair stand on end. It’s as if the dog is warning you that something sinister is about to happen. Superstitious beliefs are associated with the howling of a dog. These are baseless beliefs but folks believe that when a dog howls, there are evil spirits around. Dog howling is also a sign that the “reaper” has arrived and someone is about to die. Actually, the dog is really trying to tell you something (not necessarily creepy and ominous).

We know she was dumped there that night so that is not significant evidence though the timing would be interesting. But did he see anything otherwise no connection to GBC

Mr Mason I think would know GBC as they both in real estate in same area

And he has made a second statement that he also heard mumbled voices when he went out to his dog.

Where does Mr Mason live?

A man who lives near Kholo Creek, where Allison's body was found, said he had to quieten his dog when it started barking at 12.30am. #katekyriacou

dogs are very sensitive, so usually death danger or distress will set them off and also lonliness, when they are wanting to connect with their neighbouring pack.

damn I dont tweet and have no idea how to do it or read it. I am not reading Mr Masons comments

I'll keep you updated. I'm not getting much work done today but that's OK. This is far more important.

Voices....accomplice??

Did Mr. Mason say voice or voices? A single voice....GBC talking to himself, or Allison's dead body?? Voices...an accomplice or two?? Hmmmm.

If they're discussing the same dog, it was reported last year that one of the dogs was a German Shepherd, Sasha. A lot of Shepherds will howl at weird/ odd or loud pitched noises. Very common for them to howl at things like sirens, ambulance/police sirens.

From my knowledge of German Shepherds, and I've owned a few, the howling in my case was about concern and distress. Every time my new baby cried, the shepherds howled. Once the dogs could see that the baby was ok, even when crying, they were fine. Dogs hear and smell and feel much more that we mere humans do.

I reckon those police escorting Gerard are letting him be Gerard.. Wouldnt be surprised if the female officer was worded up to give Gerard a bit of a boost and see how he runs with it. Its a pound to a penny he has never met any of them till this morning, and there will be other escorts tomorrow morning depending on shifts, they are givin Gerard a long leash because its essential for the proceedings to continue, and essential for Gerard not to have a weeping fit, or a panic attack or a collapse. Joke with him, let him make a gig of himself , just get him thru the 6 days without any delays. They go home, he goes back to Arthur Gorrie. Who has the last laugh?

The easy demeanour, laughing and joking make me uneasy. He doesn't seem worried at all. What does he know that we don't? I would be terrified if it was me - even if I knew I'd done nothing wrong.

Very confused and a bit more worried than before.

And, I might add, why on earth are the police of all people engaged with the accused in that manner?

Champers, don't worry. IMHO these people aren't like normal people like you and me who would be terrified, even if we knew we hadn't done anything wrong. Denial of reality Is part of that narcissistic-sociopathic pathology.

Sometimes it's a lot easier for people in authority (police, nurses, prison officers for example) to get people to be co-operative by establishing a friendly, casual manner with them - sort of 'we're on your side', if you like. It also makes it easier to get information from people too, and that's how many crooks come undone.

IMO IMO of course...

Neighbour opposite Baden-Clay's Julie Tzvetkoff heard a very sharp and loud yell the night before Allison reported missing. @abcnews

Thanks Fuskier. So the dog started barking at 12:30am. Ties in quite well with the earlier evidence from Sue Braun that she heard screaming and shouting at about 10:00pm and again at 11:30pm.

BBM:

How long does it take to drive from the Brookfield house to the bridge?

Don't be fooled for a second that the police or anyone in law enforcement or the courts don't know exactly what they are doing.....

Yes, but is it appropriate, given that this matter is all about a dead mother, daughter, sister, friend?
They need to engage with the accused, but to what extent?

As mentioned in an earlier thread, dogs are known to howl when a human spirit is leaving its body. Possibly Singing away the spirit into the next world?
