Allison Baden-Clay's body was found on right side in mud. Bad decomposition has affected ability to determine cause of death

BUT...Allison did not go for a walk that night and had no need to stuff her phone down her bra. Do some women carry their phones in their bra while they're at home and doing stuff around the house? I don't.

MOO.

were gbc parents there {or the ghost of nbc ] lol:what:

IMO Dr Milne has carefully left the door open for futher analysis.

As I said above - Nathan Milne is a VERY cautious man. He is basically stating only the facts, and not adding any interpretation. Davis will try to infer the interpretation he wants, and suggest that it is possible,, isn't it? It can't be excluded, can it? And Milne will have to agree....

I believe Allison was wearing a purple singlet with a built-in bra from memory

I've tried, and wedging an iPhone down there isn't very secure. She might have had the phone on a lanyard, but it would swing as you walked (tried that too). She might have looped it round a wrist with the lanyard (done that as well)

Originally posted by DrWatson:
Dr Nathan Milne, a forensic pathologist, told the court "There was insufficient positive evidence to determine a cause of death," he said.
He told the court Allison's hyoid bone was still intact - likely suggesting she wasn't "manually strangled".
However, he said someone killed through "ligature strangulation" could still have their hyoid bone intact.

IMO Dr Milne has carefully left the door open for futher analysis.
As DrWatson suggested:"...So could someone who had been smothered by eg a pillow or simply a big hand!".

Hmmm will be interesting to see what ligature the good doc is leaning towards, or has that statement been plucked out of research? C'mon Danny Boy ask him will ya...

well from what I've read so far, I think if that's the best the defense can come up with.... then I think GBC is nailed !!!!

I don't know Squiz. I'm in NSW. I haven't heard anything about the clan from our sleuth's on the ground.

I do, especially if listening to music whilst doing housework. Or expecting a phonecall or text.

So could someone who had been smothered by eg a pillow or simply a big hand! And that big hand could end up with "cuts" on it....

so does this mean we cant discount the bathwater in lungs theory ??????????

The only one reported by Katie K was Olivia when she was asked if any family from either side were there.

My daughter always has her phone in her bra otherwise she would lose it, whether at home or out.
If Allison was feeling threatened in some way that night she may have wanted to keep her phone close by just incase. OR maybe GBC had asked for her phone etc and she kept it close to her.

4:01pm AEST:

Forensic pathologist Dr Nathan Milne told the court that as he removed the jumper Allison was wearing, a fingertip from a glove fell out.

"I can't explain how it got there," he said.

"It could have been contaminated at the scene, maybe, or around the time of death, or at the time of death."

But he said as it didn't look particularly old, it was more likely it got there during the discovery of the body.

Dr Milne said there were no obvious injuries to show the body had spent time in the water.

He said Allison had relatively few visible injuries but he did discover what looked like a bruise on the inside or her ribs.

"It was a relatively thin film of discolouration on the inside of the rib," Dr Milne said.

"It was most likely a bruise, but I can't be sure of that.

We can discount that theory.

I'm still waiting to hear what the rest of the autopsy revealed - it's very quiet on twitter at the moment. I'm not really buying the bath water in lungs theory, but someone could have water in lungs without it being the COD?

But then I guess the prosecution can argue the same? I imagine there'd be a number of theories and based on all we know at this stage, suicide would be well down on my list.

the reports you provided awhile back on levels of Zoloft, do you think the prosecution would be likely to ask him about that? If so, it seems unlikely to be plausible to me.
