Forensic pathologist Dr Nathan Milne told the court that as he removed the jumper Allison was wearing, a fingertip from a glove fell out.

"I can't explain how it got there," he said.

"It could have been contaminated at the scene, maybe, or around the time of death, or at the time of death."

But he said as it didn't look particularly old, it was more likely it got there during the discovery of the body.

Dr Milne said there were no obvious injuries to show the body had spent time in the water.

He said Allison had relatively few visible injuries but he did discover what looked like a bruise on the inside or her ribs.

"It was a relatively thin film of discolouration on the inside of the rib," Dr Milne said.

"It was most likely a bruise, but I can't be sure of that.
"It was about five centimetres or so, an oval to round shape."

He said there was no indication of drowning - but it couldn't be ruled out.

"For a body with this decomposition, even if there were classic drowning signs, I wouldn't expect to see them," Dr Milne said.

I wish Allison could tell us more!

Well folks. I wish I could stay but I have to go.

It's only just the beginning and I am quietly feeling more confident that justice will be served for Allison.

See you all tomorrow and thanks for everyone's posts today.

the reports you provided awhile back on levels of Zoloft, do you think the prosecution would be likely to ask him about that? If so, it seems unlikely to be plausible to me.

They may ask him about that - but maybe at the trial if the defence keep pushing that line of Zoloft overdose. The prosecution are well aware of those reports and papers....

i was hoping we would get to hear what immediate evidence on allisons body made the attending forensic people determine allison was murdered? wasnt there a police media release before the autopsy stating they believed she had been killed and left there?

  • #569
I'm still waiting to hear what the rest of the autopsy revealed - it's very quiet on twitter at the moment. I'm not really buying the bath water in lungs theory, but someone could have water in lungs without it being the COD?

I assumed that any water entering your lungs - as opposed to fluid from illness etc would pretty much kill you - if no resuscitation was forthcoming.

Dr Watson?

BUT...Allison did not go for a walk that night and had no need to stuff her phone down her bra. Do some women carry their phones in their bra while they're at home and doing stuff around the house? I don't.

MOO.

Perhaps Allison was wearing a jacket (that had pockets) that is now missing?

Well I am glad they have the ammo doc. Wonder if they will need it ;)

Good timing for me.

Bye

John Taylor‏@_JohnTaylor_

All witnesses done in Baden-Clay for today. Back tomorrow for day 2

I am interested as to how the witnesses are being introduced.

Is the prosecution calling each witness to the witness box and asking them general questions about their name etc and their statement?

Then is the defence then asking them questions?

Is the prosecution then asking anymore questions to clarify their evidence before they are dismissed from the witness box?

Could someone there give us an explanation of the process please.

Makara I have a Prado & there is a distinctive difference between the doors to the big back swinging door. So much louder and a heavier sound because of its heaviness you have to push it harder and it swings shut with a thud. :twocents:

Yeah thats right, I have a prado too and only just found out that you can click the thingie to keep it open haha.

Have been whacked in the back too many times to count when unloading shopping.

She was wearing a jacket when she was found. It didn't have pockets.

  • #577
Was she wearing a jumper and a jacket? I'm confused now.

Witnesses all done for today. Roll on tomorrow.

_JohnTaylor_: Allison Baden-Clay's body was found on right side in mud. Bad decomposition has affected ability to determine cause of death. @abcnews

Thanks they'll get you. I have a BMW 4WD and I agree, closing the back door makes a louder and heavier sound than the car door. But why two thuds?
