That video is telling - I really think everyone on this thread needs to stop what they are doing and watch it!

Child was last seen outside of mom on March 7th (by the school)

Mom and step-dad were spending money March 2nd (so, first of the month), before she went missing.

Also the news cast said the wife of the perp was found "shot to death" not beaten.

The mother of the missing child looked down, had no tears on her face but sounded as though she was crying. step-father was visibly upset with tears running down his face.

Wanted to add before I forget: March 5th is specifically mentioned in the newscast regarding the child being last seen (?), this is the very last time the mom used fb.

Child was seen by a teacher on march 7th. you have to excuse me if I get something wrong..it's very late here and my adhd gets the best of me at this hour. I tend to forget things rather quickly and get side tracked.

based on the moms facebook account stating where she went to school, her degree, personal things going on etc - it's easy to see she doesn't always tell the truth.

Wonder where the tablet went?

A source close to the internal investigation into district agencies interaction with Relisha Rudd and her family told News4 school officials have determined the girl was in class on March 5 and was seen by a teacher March 7. That teacher, according to the source, said Relisha said she had been ill and staying with her grandmother. Rudd was not in class on March 7, but was on school grounds, sources told News4.

So who took her to the school that day? Why did Relisha tell the teacher she was sick, and staying with her Grandma? When did this child REALLY go missing?

DC Amber Alert: Relisha Renau Rudd Missing, May be With Rickie Lyles, Kahliil Tatum
Eight-year-old Relisha Tenau Rudd has gone missing in southeast Washington, D.C. on Thursday, prompting police to issue an Amber Alert.
Two vehicles that police were looking for in connection to a homicide in Oxon Hill, Maryland were found at the scene of the crime. Rudd is connected to the homicide but is not the victim.

D.C. AMBER ALERT: 8-Year-Old Relisha Rudd Missing
OXON HILL, Md. (WRIC)—The District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department has issued an AMBER Alert for an 8-year-old black girl who has been missing since last month. A woman’s body was discovered in a Maryland hotel Thursday morning during the search for the child.

Wife of man wanted for missing Maryland girl, 8, found dead in hotel: report
Police found a white 1976 GMC truck they say was being used by Kahlil Malik Tatum, who is suspected of possibly abducting little girl Relisha Tenau Rudd. An Amber Alert was issued for the child, who hasn't been seen since Feb. 26., after police found the body of Tatum's wife at a Prince George County hotel.

WASHINGTON (WTVR) — An AMBER Alert was issued Thursday morning for a missing 8-year-old girl in Southeast D.C. In an update late Thursday, Richmond Police said they believe the girl has been in Richmond, but can’t say if they still think she is here.

The Prince George's County Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for 51-year-old Kahlil Malik Tatum, of the 2500 block of N Street in Southeast Washington. Tatum is wanted for the murder of his wife, 51-year-old Andrea Denise Tatum also of N Street, Southeast Washington. The victim was discovered in a motel room in the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road on Thursday, March 20, 2014.

When my kids miss school and I've failed to hit the 10am call in time, we get a call on our phones alerting us the kids were absent. Almost all urban schools are this way, so in the very least her mother knew her daughter wasn't attending classes and she is neglectful in that regard.

So in all the fb posts prior where she handed off her kids, she made mention it had to be during breaks, holidays or weekends. Now suddenly before spring break she's just giving her daughter away and allowing her to miss school? Makes no sense to me!

well, my answers to why parents can't all love their kids is pretty simple; lots of empty people make babies to attempt to create "love" and being needed forever. When that doesn't magically happen, they make another and another - creating a huge ole mess. That's a simple answer.

But if there is this hospital in town all of their lives and it recently became a shelter, I can see people saying we're ' at the hospital' referring to its former state and knowing that their friends and likely other local residents know that hospital actually IS the shelter now. Speculative ***

This case is absolutely heartbreaking. I was so depressed after viewing the mom's FB page. Seems now that our suspicions that Relisha was headed for trouble anyway are well founded.

(ETA - take notice of the part about Tatum's wife also being interested in Relisha. She has a previous criminal record as well. I know that she lost her life in all of this, but I'm not sure she's completely innocent with whatever was happening with Relisha.)

D.C. Council member Jim Graham (D-Ward 1), in an interview Friday, described Relisha’s family as “troubled” and said that Young had come to the attention of the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency even before Relisha disappeared.....

.....Graham’s account mirrors observations from at least one family member, who said that child welfare officials have gone to Young’s apartment several times since 2007. An adult relative, who spoke on the condition of anonymity so as not to alienate other relatives, said that on one occasion, after a visit from social workers, Young’s mother called other family members asking whether they had room for Relisha to sleep. The relative added that at one point, city social workers were visiting Young’s apartment once or twice a week to make sure there was enough food and that the place was clean....

....No explanation has emerged for why Young put Relisha in the care of Tatum, an employee of a homeless shelter on the grounds of the former D.C. General Hospital. But relatives said that Young, who has been living in the shelter for months, had been in the habit of putting her daughter in the care of various family members....

....The adult relative of the missing girl said that while she and Young were talking in December, Young mentioned that a man at the shelter had taken interest in Relisha...

Some conflicting info. In class on March 5, seen by a teacher at school but not in class on March 7. What does that mean? Who was she with on March 7 at the school? Withdrawing perhaps? Picking up missing assignments? But then it seems no family member has seen her since Feb so ...... Some of this info has to be incorrect or mistaken dates, right?

Someone that is getting dropped from the media: Relisha's biological father. I found his FB page, and he does have a picture of a Barbie house/kitchen (?) and comments that it is his daughter's. He doesn't have many pictures at all, and there are none of Relisha or his son.

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - A group that works to give homeless children a sense of normalcy saw Relisha Rudd on a regular basis. Now that group can’t understand how her absence went undetected for so long.

Just a smile that lit up the room when she was in her element.

Good question. In the video I just posted, they referred to the shelter as "D.C. General Shelter" which makes me wonder if that contributes to the confusion? I have the same questions: Was she in the hospital? If so, when and where? Did it happen at the time of Relisha's disappearance? If not, are people referring to the shelter as the hospital, which is contributing to the confusion/misinformation? Or, is there a form of actual misleading occurring?

With each passing moment, I am becoming more concerned, and worried for this young girl. Perhaps her mother had her hands so full with the younger children, she felt justified in handing Relisha off to others, because she is older. That is infuriating to write, but something to consider.

Relisha is JUST as valuable as her siblings! :twocents: :banghead:
