I've read all your posts and I understand what you're saying. I just don't believe that her being a bad/neglectful mother necessarily means that she didn't love her children. I do, however, believe that she wasn't taking proper care of them and that they shouldn't be in her custody.

The one thing I want to make clear is that I did not and have not ever once said she didn't love her kids. I'm not even implying she didn't love her kids, if she didn't love them than she wouldn't care to take care of them (she would have just let the state take them etc etc). I however think she views her daughter differently than the sons and for reasons I can only speculate and assign to her based on what I've seen/witnessed among those with almost exact backgrounds as Mika.

I can see that. Maybe I misinterpreted your statement about her no longer receiving benefits or assistance since the children are gone. I hope I didn't come across as argumentative. I just wanted to present a different viewpoint. I just want this child to be returned safe and unharmed, just like everyone else here.

D.C. Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) had an active case working when Relisha went missing, along with three prior cases dating back to 2007, sources told News4. The previous cases included lack of food, insufficient shelter, medical neglect, inadequate supervision and at least one report of the mother hitting one of her children.

"This family was under the supervision of Child and Family Services," D.C. Councilmember Tommy Wells said. "This child should not have gone missing. This is an 8-year-old girl. This is absolutely unacceptable."

Despite these reports, which span the course of seven years, authorities never removed the four children from their mother's custody until the Amber Alert Thursday -- Relisha's siblings were placed in the care of CFSA that day.

I tried to figure out some of the cps calls and about when/why they happened. I think a majority really came barrelling around that set of photos on FB (listed in the timeline as april 2011). The youngest had a severe hernia it appears, it's actually horrifying to see. I'm going to *guess that this is the neglect, based on the statements a friend of hers made on that image itself.

There is never any furniture in the photographs of her homes up until the shelter. I'm thinking she aged out of the system but remained in it because she had children very young and very close together. So she went right into section 8 or HUD *and that makes me wonder how she ended up homeless?* but unless you spend money on furniture .. you don't have any.

I would guess that someone noted a baby with a hernia that looked to be the size of at least 3 or 4 inches (protruding), dirty floors the kids were playing on, no furniture or beds in the pictures and tons of talk about smoking weed and drinking. She was reported. The mention about a social worker visiting 2x's a week makes me think that the cps allegations had founding with possible criminal / legal action possible. The 2x's a week is usually the case when illegal elements loom. Normally this is for 6 months and then up for review. You have a case worker come once a week and then your social worker to teach you homemaking skills, help with the kids. Both are there anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour and both have to sign off in order to release the parents of neglect. Since the case was never actually closed..this gives me pause for concern.

With all that just said, Mika's attitude towards Relisha's disappearance is sad. She (Mika) is more or less blaming Relisha for the other kids being taken rather than blaming herself. I do not think she senses the urgency around finding her daughter but she's going through the motions because her other children are now taken and it seems like the man in her life sticks around or continues to come back because of the boys.

I try to write without emotion, and I try to speak literally about things. When I stated about no longer receiving benefits or assistance - I meant how I stated it, not with emotional undertones or stereotyping. I'm sorry you took it that way, but I really can't be any clearer without going on and on beating a dead horse. I want the same as you and that's all there is to it.

I want to know if Mrs Tatum was ever seen with Relisha. Whether during the overnight visits from prior months, or/and most recently. Did ANYONE see the Tatums with Relisha for the past month? Is any of the Tatum family speaking out? When was Relisha truly last seen???

poor Relisha I'm going to guess mother was abused every which way as a child and looking at her daughter brings it back to her (hence the constantly sending relisha way) mother's page shows her to be self medicated most of the time......i'm angry at this woman but find myself having sympathy for her obvious brokenness.

Maybe now - recently but they had their phones (that we know of because the mom claims to have been in contact with her daughter) from March 5th until the 19th when she was reported missing. They most likely had pay as you go phones so getting a new one wouldn't be too hard, she frequently changed #'s & I think she did so this winter.

I think she (Mika) knew things were about to hit the fan and started attempting to cover her angles.. which is why the boyfriend said she had been honest the last 48 hours. I am kinda leaning towards her telling him one story or version of events and the reality being a totally different one. The step-dad seemed sincere and hurt.

I couldn't disagree more. "Love" is not giving your child to some janitor, not checking on the welfare of said child for weeks, LYING about it, not reporting her missing, and on and on.

With "love" like that, I'd rather not have any. MOO

I pegged it a day or two ago when I said the images on his fb were obvious prison photos. I mean, glaringly obvious - so obvious it's very weird to me that no one who hired him knew of his past.

I don't think he would return near the prison system while being on the run, but I sure could see a <modsnip> grooming a little girl by enticing her with horses. Do you know how amazing a horse would be if you grew up on urban sprawl? To think all this grossness was wrapped in pretty packages presented to Re under the guise it was "safe" since mom approved.

This is posted after Re was with the perp, and after looking at a few photos of the boys' dad .. and trying to see the colors on his new shoes; His shoes appear to be reddish .. so I'm thinking the ones next to hers that appear pink are actually red and there for are the dad.

So it would be the 3 boys, Mika and her old man in the photo if that's the case. Meaning that Relisha didn't get new sneakers.

I know, I keep hoping I'm wrong though - I mean, there is a HUUUUUGE chance I am. But It looks like 2 sets of adult feet and 2 sets of kid feet. I wish I knew where that money came from, because she didn't have employment as a nurse or at Hugo Boss in order to get a tax return. There's also a bunch o' rules in getting a return when you're on assistance to that degree.

Either way, if they were given that money honestly (govt, friend, tax return, job) then I'd hope Relisha would have a pair awaiting her.

I wanted to give an idea the clothing that was recently purchased as far as cost is concerned. She made mention the kids had the same brand of outerwear as the dad so I just guessed on a common coat and a median in sizing.

Remember that if we are considering Relisha in these purchases, x's it by 4 kids and add 2 adults.
first up is the exact coat that dad is pictured wearing March 2nd. It appears to be brand new

The brand Mika claims the kids all had, this is a common or most sold coat.
I guessed the size. Remember x's 4

Now, I couldn't find the exact Jordan's the kids had (I think they are possibly bootleg) but found something similar ..at least I think it's the same "type". Guessed on the sizing though but you get the point. X's this by at least 3 (only can see 3 kids)

I didn't dig for mom or dads' shoes, but they had new Jordans as well. Adult shoes are usually more expensive.

This coupled with weed, cigarettes, the cash we see the dad posing with ... is what we are speculating on.

Does anyone know if Kahlil sounds like Karl? In Kahlil's photos, one photo is framed like scrapbooking or something, and has the name Karl on it. Also, can anyone make out the tattoo on his arm? Police said he maybe armed and dangerous. I was thinking today what would I do if I saw them or thought it was them in central Va... I would guess to call out Relisha's name and see if she responded...one thing for sure, I wouldn't want to let her leave my sight!

What should be the response? Of course call the police, but I mean make sure it's them first? or what? Since we have no idea what transportation they are using, might be public like buses or train.

Disregard the posts I had about the shoes because on dad's facebook there are clear shots of them. Mika posted a photo of HER shoes. He has the posts to the boys' and his own. His run (via amazon) 290-499.00 a pair. She is about 200.00.

Karl is likely maybe his real name and Kahlil is his Muslim name. Although he could legally change it to that. A lot of prisoners convert while locked up and only answer to their new name. Very common. As soon as I heard it and had seen the prison photos.. I assumed this to be the connection. I strongly suggest looking up the name Karl (and his last name - omit the middle name).
