This is the most horrible kind of case. To hope that she is ALIVE and with him still almost certainly implies that she is not SAFE and has not been safe from day one, but hopefully alive. What a horrible outcome to have to pray for but it is our only positive outcome. Sometimes I like to entertain the fantasy outcomes that he's taken her to protect and shield her from a sad life and only has her best interests in mind and has not harmed her........
TY for clarifying the post above that he's not been seen recently , since the AA but has been seen without her since she was last seen . You cannot run forever Mr. Praying for LE to have clarity and instinct and insight today to find that missing piece that puts him in their sights ! :please:

:floorlaugh: Thank you for my laugh of the day!! I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the comment about the chickens' pediatrician. Never heard of one of those!! :floorlaugh:

I just have to share a recent experience regarding our school system and my son being absent recently from school. Relisha's monitoring may have been by the book but that system FAILED her! A welfare check for a kid in the system should have been top priority.

I live in suburbia USA. Mom to an 18 yr old HS Senior. Good kid, hardly misses school and doesn't have a detention or visit to the principle in his record. @1/20 our new semester started. (the bylaws allow 5 days per semester unexcused). My mom was ill, hospitalized during this time. My son missed several days of school, not consecutively until the end. 6 days total. 4 consecutive days. I had conversations with guidance counselor facilitating his return to school and work to make up and the attendance dept. 3x. I was contacted by another department called "screening" after the 6th day and needed to provide proof of the truancy. My response was check the funeral home website with his name in the obit. They quickly apologized and advised they were only doing their job and agreed to remove 4 days from his record.

This…is a kid who has never been in the system~ He is legally an adult and yet safeguards for his welfare and CYA's are in place. Sorry to rant…this thread is devastating.

My daughter is also a senior in high school..and while she's maintained honor throughout, she has senioritis right now. She is so ready for school to be over. Never been in any trouble, no suspensions, etc. Every single time she is tardy or absent, I get an automatic call from the school. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's only a recording saying your child has been tardy or absent for at least one period today...blah blah blah. She had surgery, they knew about it as I called and talked to the school BEFORE, and AFTER the surgery. YET, I got letters in the mail about her absences and how they would have to report to whatever service it was. School apologized that it was just an automatic thing done for anyone that was absent for many days. I don't know what other districts do.

I still say the school didn't fail this child, the system didn't fail this child, society isn't failing this child...those closest family members in her life have failed her...and failed her time and time again.

ETA--- I'll never complain about those calls again!

May today be the day we hear the news that Relisha has been located safely, so she can begin the road towards a happy and safe life with her brothers. They are waiting for her, and so are we....

Rudd’s grandmother Melissa Young said on Wednesday that she is even more worried about her missing granddaughter because she may be in need of medication:
"Relisha suffers from real bad headaches, since she was one...then about October last year, she had a seizure."
Young also said that the family had been trying to get her in to see a neurologist to figure out why, and that Khalil Tatum likely knew this.
"But not one time did we ask him to pose as a doctor," she assured.
A startling accusation from city officials implies that the family was in on the hoax; but Young said Tatum told them Relisha had been having headaches.
We asked Young about that chilling hotel surveillance video, where the child seemed more than comfortable with Tatum:
"To her he was that friendly man that took her to spend time with her grand kids. This is not a child that cries not to go with him, this is a child that cries because she can't go with him."
Now, she says she’s just praying for him to bring her back.

At D.C. General Wednesday, teams of police cadets searched the grounds and eventually inside the homeless shelter where Relisha Rudd lived with her family. Rudd was last seen on Feb. 26 and is believed to be with Khalil Tatum.
"They're doing a door-to-door canvas to try to see if they can locate any witnesses that we have not yet interviewed," says Cmrd. Danny Hickson of the Metropolitan Police Department Youth Investigation Division.

It's irritating when you have to keep checking prior articles that are updated or new information added to them instead of just doing a new article!

I'm still edgy. Headache gone. But sure didn't sleep well, and only 4hrs at that. If one more person comments negatively on my FB where I'm sharing the heck to get Relisha known, I'm gonna delete even more. Two gone, more will follow. This is about a child, a baby that should be enjoying childhood with her friends, her brothers, playing with play dough, dancing in the rain, chasing butterflies and froggies and soon lightening bugs....instead we are here. Yes I'm angry at those closest to her. But in NO WAY is it this child's fault! And there is NO WAY for someone to say she'll grow up just like her mom. That irritates the heck outta me, and I asked them if their kids were gonna grow up ignorant, and judgemental like them! THIS IS A CHILD!!! She hasn't even had the chance to be a child, much less what her future as an adult would be. D!)($#)$(*%

I pray those searches are just to clear the areas and not on any evidence that suggests she could be there. Writing that I just had an awful thought, if people think they are looking for the both, and only see Tatum, I wonder if they'll even take note?

Maybe police also should make a statement that anyone that has seen Tatum since Feb 26th to call them.

Did anyone else read an article that stated Tatum had been taking the kids to breakfast at the shelter because the workers noticed the kids hadn't been coming to breakfast? And Tatum taking the kids to school and picking them up? I thought I read it yesterday, but I can't find it now, and now I don't know if I dreamed it, or I did read it. :(
