I just want to know what everyone's thoughts are about KLT's wife and her possible involvement or non-involvement, as well as opinions on KLT's motives for murdering her. I think that is ok.

I think she knew too much or the divorce put him over the edge. At 51 to start killing??? wonder if this was his first???

I was trying to be optimist by thinking MAYBE KT cut a deal with someone in Richmond to sell Relisha. maybe they met to the hotel and took her or he drove her down to Richmond. Maybe he gave SY some money hence the purchases. then his wife gave him issues or he was livid about the divorce and planned to kill her. But I am not feeling good about any of those theories right now because he never used the items he bought on his wife. None if it makes sense - why but those things at all? If he did kill Relisha first and hid her - why leave the wife unhidden - unless that plan went awry or was not planned.

I just do not believe that KLT's "interest" in little girls just started. He's had to violate other children before. From what we know of his record, he was able to get away with this for many, many years, as he doesn't have a record for sex crimes. That is very unsettling and scary. What happened this time that he killed Relisha and his wife?! I think we will start hearing from victims and parents of victims after he's been caught. How was he able to get away with this, and other than one comment under a news article from days ago, sorry I don't remember which one, and the statements by women in the shelter I've not heard or seen anything brought to light. Are people too afraid to talk until he is caught? Why haven't we heard from people who know him, those who know about his dark side?

Two passports, hmmm. I wonder if he had a third passport? I believe a photo of Relisha was also found there. ( From tweets posted here).

Agree. IMO he has been doing this for years. He was smart enough to insert himself into the lives of vulnerable Children. We may hear more once he is caught or found.

I posted a link to police chief saying she was last seen on the 1st for you. I knew you would want some link from officials stating when she was last seen. Hope that helps.

Right, and I did see the press conference with Lanier saying she was seen on the 1st. I guess I just took that to mean last seen with HIM on the 1st because there was the school info for 5th and 7th. But, I found a link where the school info can no longer be taken for fact.

And probably, sickening as it is , he preyed on not just the children, but the parents as well for the perfect ' target'. Take a mom with many kids, living with assistance in a shelter, has nothing, shower them with gifts and money and help and what not. Then if he ever was caught before, he might have said ' you took that $$ i gave you , i 'll tell police you allowed me to for $' , like some threats . When the parent felt their back was against the wall and maybe they'd lose the kids to cps or what not if they didn't just NOT report him and let him go on his way. Its' sad and horrible and I know we all will say I would never do that but we have to understand that these predators are slick and how intimidating a tactic something like that may be. That may be how he's gotten away with it to this point.

Schmae, looking into the sm aspect...don't think that theory fits. He didn't threaten them with anything. Nah... he possibly provided the drugs, they became too far in debt, or he was grooming and the darn egg donor and her mate WILLINGLY gave little Relisha to him. Heck both have stated they WILLINGLY gave her to him on NUMEROUS times before! Sickening, just sickening! He needs a vasectomy, and she needs an oopherectomy!

Tlcya - The police chief gave the impression that the wife was killed on March 20th.
I don't know if she outright said it, but I got the impression they found her shortly after. :twocents:

Wondering if wife had info and based on info from the child's mother about the school meeting, or questions raised by the school . . Wonder how much Tatum knows about reporting and when certain things are triggered . . .

Another thing that bothers me is that red flags didn't go up for any of Relisha's family members. Not one of them.

I'm exhausted from today's news. Something about being right there where they were searching really hit home. This reminds me so much of Shaniya - I really believe that sweet Relisha is gone. I think LE thinks so as well.

For those of you who have been around, we've been through some tough cases. This one ranks right up there as a name I'll never forget. Shaniya, Jhessye, Zahra, Relisha... There are others for some of you, but those are the ones that I'll never forget.

To those that wondered why kill Relisha if he bought her; she was purchased which means she had value at the time of purchase - she was a material good. When Tatum got the use out of her that he wanted, he killed her. He didn't want a responsibility - he wanted a toy.

Also, I believe he was tipped off and thus killed Relisha and his wife so that he could go on the run with less weight tying him down or making him easily noticed.

I hate to be so crass but it's pretty cut n' dry with almost all criminal cases, our emotional tend to over complicate these things. People who commit such heinous crimes aren't running based on emotions, they are running on highs of whatever addiction they are fulfilling/or fantasy - and they are getting rid of any and all evidence because nothing matters to them but themselves.

Officials knew he had a felony conviction in Virginia for larceny, but they noted that it was 20 years ago and did not preclude him from his job.
