Still trying to catch up so bear with me, and I apologize if anything I'm commenting on has already been addressed.

somewhere in the first thread was it mentioned that re's grandma or an aunt said they spoke to her on or around the 19th march?? something about her having toast and eggs for breakfast.......i now wonder if that was a lie as well.

IMOO that was a lie. Interestingly enough this article quotes SY as saying she spoke to Relisha on the 17th, when before it was the 19th. Could be a misquote in the media. Or could be she just can't seem to get her lies straight.

Two police officials said that Young did not want to file a missing persons report when police got involved March 19. She told detectives and the news media that she had talked to Relisha by telephone as late as March 17, and she told police her daughter had accompanied Tatum, whom she described as “Dr. Tatum,” to a medical conference in Atlanta.

guys.. do you remember that article in the last thread that quoted the woman right above the room that the body was found.. she said she had been there for five days or so and that they were there after she got there and she never saw Relisha? I will have to find it. If that is the case that means (20th she was found) that they got the last red roof inn room around the 14th or 15th which is after the cell phone pings in the park.

This totally stinks truly. I will see if I can find it again.

I remember the article. She was (at the time AKT was found) at the motel for four days and stated that the 19th was the first time the cars from the 1st Amber Alert were in that parking lot. I have the article bookmarked and I'll see if I can find it if you'd still like the link.

Ok, that fox video posted a minute ago... it said Kahlil Tatum answered the hotel door, but refused to let a witness in the room, but the witness saw Andrea on the bed! I don't know if same witness that gave him a ride to the Metro or who it was. Also said AKT family, friends, and pastors had private memorial at apartment the Tatums use to live in, and gave address of that apartment. Said funeral would be private, not open to public or media.
www.myfoxdc.com and the video was titled New details emerge about Khalil Tatum. I didn't see a written report, only the video. Office locker and apartment were searched, and the media folks had copies of the search warrants.

Trying to make sense out of it is probably futile and I get people like KT are cut from a different cloth - no emotions. But, if I were in KTs place and abused this girl - common sense would tell me to leave her behind alive versus killing her. A live child left behind doesn't get me life or a death sentence if caught.

He posed as a nice guy, posed as a doctor, he lost his home, he was given divorce papers, he killed his wife, most likely killed Relisha after who knows what he did to her, he is on FBI's most wanted list, he has a background for which he has been in the big house. He will take the easy way out. I say...go for it. And if, which I doubt, he is found alive...let the inmates finish him off.

Omg. In that video, the reporter said SY said RR was in the care of her mother and sister when she disappeared! The reporter contacted grandma and sis and they said not true.

They have never been away from me even overnight.
However if they DID go to stay with family for a MONTH.... :thud:

Police have shown us proof he took Relisha to at least one hotel.
Police believe he killed Relisha and dumped her body.
He also bought things that can be used to make physical evidence on a body (and the body) disappear.

I am unable to come up with a case like this, where the motive was NOT sexual assault:

A little girl her age was groomed beforehand.
A little girl her age was taken to a private location.
A little girl her age was killed.
That little girls body was concealed.
A non family member of the little girl committed the crime.

Feel free to share if you can come up with one though.
I don't think it's a leap to assume this guy didn't take Relisha with good intentions.

Someone stated he is a pedophile and I have seen it stated on here before, but have never read it in MSM. I asked about this because if this is true, the mother should never have let her go with him. Not questioning his intentions with RR. I know they aren't good.

Pedophiles don't have a tattoo on their forehead and many are not registered.
The vast majority of these crimes are committed by people who are NOT on the registry.
This was a guy who was CLEARLY grooming girls and trolling for victims.
Relisha's mother handed her daughter to a guy that other mothers saw as a risk. :twocents:

Pedophiles offend many many times before they are caught.
Many others are not convicted even when they are caught.

It is assumed he is a pedophile because of his grooming behavior.
Also, there was a comment after an article of someone who claimed she was victimized by him. :twocents:

He is not a registered sex offender... but that certainly doesn't mean he isn't a pedophile.
And ANY grown man who wants to give your daughter presents and take her places?

Who else was Relisha going with? In a healthier situation I would interpret it to mean "I'm going to be extremely protective of you and never let go of you, I was so afraid I would never see you again, you will never be out of my sight". In this case it sounds much more ominous. Poor kiddo.

I know she shouldn't have let him go. That's besides my point. It had been stated several times on here that he was a pedophile. Stated as a fact. I didn't know where it was coming from, as I had never seen those comments. I share the same opinion of him, the mother and the situation as you. Just trying to understand if he had previous victims and was through the court system before with them as well.

The question was asked if KT was a pedophile.

To my knowledge there has not been an official statement that KT has ever been convicted of any type of child crime.

Plus no one here at WS has been able to find any arrests warrants for one and he does not show up on any registry.

Apparently he has been in jail and had only be released in 2011 if IIRC . I am not clear on exactly what he was in for, other than he had at one time been convicted of a larceny charge. That apparently was not deemed to be an issue in him getting his job at the shelter.

I would be interested in knowing if had a juvenile record. And if he did, for what. Unfortunately we will never hear about one if he did, since those records are usually always sealed.

The more I read the angrier I get! I am just plain and simple dumb-founded about this "mother" and I use that term very loosely. She had no problem throwing her little girl to the lions and now she is ready to throw her mother and sister in too? Talk about dysfunctional. Dear God! I just watched the newscast live! SY said she still does not believe KLT hurt Relisha! She also said she was a great mother, ( paraphrasing) and that other kids should have a mother like her! ( not exact words) She said the reason she didn't report Relisha missing was because she didn't want to lose her other 3 children. She claimed she didn't refuse to make a missing person report because LE didn't ask her to!

Hopefully this will be posted on the site soon, and maybe someone can transcribe. ... I have no words! I think she just dug that pit so deep, she buried herself! There was more ...

bbm- I think that is the FIRST honest thing she has said so far. She didn't want to lose her other three children. Just like in the Marissa Whalen case, mom didn't want to lose her government checks!!!!
