I just want to throw this out there re: KT involvement in or not . He's an older fellow, older than me anyway and when I was in school no one had computers so KT and folks his age are not as adapted to the internet age as folks , say my age and younger. That is not to say that TONS of people his age are not online, just pointing it out. My husband is 54 and gets online maybe twice a year after a few beers to listen to youtube concerts of his old favorite singers. It lasts about an hour or less and he does not know how to ' surf the web' or send an email or ebay or chat or anything else, nothing! In his world, the computer has little importance whatsoever . So if they searched his (KT) computer and found no evidence of , that would mean little to me. Just food for thought.

It also doesn't mean that he did not make arrangements for those creating the . He had plenty of access to young children.

Chief Lanier said they were speaking with 3-4 other families that KT had been trying to get close to the daughters.

I would imagine some would be very reluctant to come forward especially if there were other perps involved who have not been identified. If their family was knowingly accepting money from TK then even more reason for them to keep quiet .

That's true. Also, I've seen people on Lithium like that too. Haven't watched it yet though.

Cotton mouth can cause the saliva to thicken and sometimes it does settle at the corners of the mouth. IMO of course "Cotton mouth" is an old 70's term used to describe dry mouth from smoking pot. It can occur when using all types of drugs.

And yes, pedophiles are often charming, 'loving' to the children they molest, who they target as being vulnerable due to shaky social protections and/or neglect at home. And hey, they often seek out positions that give them access to children, and are superficially charming, and the 'nicest guy in the world.'

And I apologise for bringing it out that I may have been defending KT...You have certainly helped me put it into a different head space. Much respect to you for sharing your personal experience and I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be constantly reading about this.

You're welcome, Abstar80. I didn't think you were defending KT, but even if you were, you are entitled to your own opinion, so you have no need to apologize! I just try to provide insight on a subject that I know all too well. For those who have never been through it, I can imagine that it is so abstract that it's hard to wrap your head around it.

As for me, yes, these type of case are always difficult, brings back tons of painful memories...but it was decades ago, and I survived and thrived... and, that's what I want for Relisha! I want so badly for her to be alive, no matter what she's been through, I want her to be alive...so she can know that she is truly loved and cared for by so many people. She can overcome the evil in her life, she can survive and thrive, but you gotta come home baby girl, you gotta come home. Where are you?!

I am astounded at the ignorance of these people. Do they really, honestly think that people are believing what comes out of their mouths?! And if so why? Because they get away with lying all the time? Or are they really that unintelligent? Or are the consequences of telling the truth that frightening to them? and I don't mean being arrested, I mean who they are keeping mum about.

What school district would Relisha be in? Maryland, DC or Virginia?

Regarding the school's responsibility, here is the DCPS policy. I guess we don't know if the school requested a truancy conference (probably had a hard time reaching Shamika). And it does seem that the School Counselor (or was it Social Worker? I've seen it written both ways, but working in DCPS myself, it is usually the SW's responsibility) finally got on the ball:

Parents of students with five unexcused absences will be requested to participate in a truancy conference.

Elementary and middle school students with ten or more unexcused absences will be referred to the Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) for suspected educational neglect.

This case makes me furious too!! Poor Relisha!! I want her to be alive and safe and loved.

My gut feeling is that these people, Relisha's family, are dumb. And I mean, they are just stupid people, they have low IQ's, they are idiots. I mean that in a scientific, biological, genetic kind of way. I'm not trying to be mean or crass. But these people involved are not on the same level as everyone else. They are living in an "infested" environment.

When asked by a reporter (WUSA9) about the last time she saw Relisha, SY said, "It was here, I did her hair, I brought her some Jordon's, 2013 Jordon flights..." She and her mother are very detailed about objects/things.

If I had a concentration length longer than a skeeters peter, I'd try to write down all the crazy talk, and contradictions. Suffice it to say, we know they are lying, police know they are lying, and Chief has said multiple times that those breaking the law will be punished. Warning has been given, so...I'll be glad when the charges fall. Maybe then people will find the truth, and stop weaving this tangled web. The public sees what's going on. They aren't going to let this go. Own family members are starting to turn on them. Money talks, bull$hit walks! That reward money is still there!! Arrests start coming down, people gonna jump ship, and every soul for themselves!

Sadly, were no closer to where Relisha is. And I can't say she isn't in that park! Look how many times that tiny lake was searched for Teleka Patrick, even with sonar, and she was in there the entire time. It happens. Many cases.

25 or more unexcused absences will result in a student/parent referral to the Office of the Attorney General or Court Social Services.
