DC DC - Relisha Tenau Rudd, 8, SE DC, 26 Feb 2014 - #9

  • #121
As for Rudd, Gallagher says the FBI is still cooperating intensely with the Metropolitan Police Department, US Park Police, and the other agencies searching for the missing second-grader. Developments in Relisha’s case have been sparse, and sometimes grim.

http://www.washingtonian.com/blogs/...-keeping-kids-safe-during-summer-vacation.php

From the article link posted above:
“We’ve recovered children years down the line, so it’s a rescue operation.,” Gallagher says, noting last year’s discovery of three women in Cleveland who were kidnapped and held for over 10 years by Ariel Castro, who died in prison last December in an apparent suicide. “We are out there following up every lead actively looking to bring her back.”

BBM: So, I take this to mean that they're looking for a child that is still alive, not one that is deceased. Yes!!! I am so happy to hear this.

When they searched the park, it was a recovery operation, but they didn't find Relisha, and after that, Chief Lanier said they had no evidence of Relisha being murdered (paraphrased). IMO, LE has new information that has caused them to switch from a recovery operation to a rescue operation. JMO.

I will never believe Relisha is dead, unless her body is found.

After that woman was rescued in CA yesterday--after being abducted ten years ago--I too have more hope that Relisha may be found alive.

Behind The Scenes With Cops Who Bring Kids Home

Witherspoon keeps the missing poster for 8 year old Relisha Rudd on his office wall, a reminder of the stakes as he goes out looking for lost children. "No leads, no answers, and you have a child somewhere scared, somewhere hurt, and just wants to be a child. And that's makes us as investigators want to do our jobs even better."

I missed the show, darnit. Survivor finale trumped it. Well that and my DD and her boyfriend broke up so I'm hiding out in my bedroom missing all the teen angst. Just me, Survivor, my dog and my iPad. This could become a habit.

Check this out! a woman I'm friends with (her husband is the owner of a place that I work) was on survivor this season! How cool and kooky is that?

This is great news but I have to wonder why the theory of the landfill was brought up?

Tatum did cross state lines and it's highly possible he handed her off for god knows what reasons. Maybe he handed her off to someone he felt could raise her better after he had killed his wife and was on the run?

What state lines did Tatum cross and when did this take place?

He went to Richmond, VA I believe on March 19th? His phone pinged there. Right after that he came back and that was when he checked into the RRI I believe.

Please correct me if my date is wrong. :scared:

I'm not able to look up links at the moment, but IIRC, the trip to Richmond was not verified by LE. As for the landfill, again, can't look up links right now, but IIRC, the landfill issue was in response to a question to Chief Lanier...i.e., what if Relisha was tossed in a garbage can in the park...she, the Chief, replied that it would be difficult to search landfills. JMO from what I remember, please correct if I'm wrong. I'll try to look for links when things calm down in my house later.

I don't recall LE or Chief Lanier ever stating, as fact, the Richomd trip or the landfill. I think that came from some of our, WSers, theories, but not an LE fact. JMO.

I don't think so, not in his group, so I don't know for sure, but nobody mentioned it today. He did say on his last shows that he's going to a twice-a-week show...and, I think he's been on twice this week already. So, who knows?

  • #134
I always thought he went to the RRI first and then Richmond in the white truck....And now I am confused.

ETA: yes, AT killed on the 19th, phone in Richmond pinged on the 20th.

I thought it was verified that they were in the gulpin ct area of Richmond. Was even mentioned in Washington post timeline of events and amber alert? What am I missing?

I was not certain about the trip to Richmond either. I believe it was stated that the white truck which belonged to Lyles was spotted in Richmond so I wasn't sure if Lyles drove to Richmond or if Tatum and Lyles were together. Also, with the phone pings. I vaguely remember reading something about them but could not recall if they were confirmed by LE.

I won't be able to look for links until tomorrow, but I just took a quick look at the WaPo Timeline (link below), and it states the while truck was found in Hyattsville on March 20. Not sure where Hyattsville is, but I didn't see Richmond mentioned in that particular timeline. Is Hyattsville near Richmond?

http://apps.washingtonpost.com/g/page/local/timeline-disappearance-of-relisha-rudd/891/

I do remember hearing about pings from Gilpin Ct in richmond, I just don't remember that being verified by LE. Again, I could be wrong, if so, I apologize!

BBM. Thanks, bakerlady. Do you have a link regarding the phone pinging in Richmond on the 20th? According to the WaPo timeline, the 20th is the day AT's body was found, but I see no mention about the ping on the 20th. This is also the day, according to that timeline, that the white truck was found abandoned in Hyattsville.

I do recall hearing about the Richmond ping, but I just don't remember it being verified by LE. IDK. I'll just have to wait until tomorrow when I have time to look up the links. Thanks. Again, apologies if I am wrong and/or confusing anybody.

:offtobed: Goodnight, All.

Hyattsville is in PG County, MD. Lyles lives in PG County. I don't recall if he lives in Hyattsville or a nearby town. So I wonder if the truck was truly 'abandoned' or just parked somewhere.

http://www.wric.com/story/25029641/dc-amber-alert-8-year-old-relisha-rudd-missing

AT's body was discovered on Thurdsay, quick glance at the calendar and that was the 20th.

KT checked in the room on the 19th.

AT was killed sometime between then and the early morning of the 20th.

The Amber Alert was posted on the 20th.

KT got a ride to the train station (where I presume he then borrowed a white truck from Ricky Sheridan Lyles)

He drove to Richmond and then drove back to MD sometime later that day and left the truck in Hyattsville.

I assume this because someone tipped them off that he was using Lyle's truck. Just MOO. Why else name RSL in the amber alert.
