I don't have a link but it was reported in MSM that neither camera had anything of value. How can that be? Weren't on, were covered??
GVS said LE has not released any info in regards to what if anything was captured from them. It is possible they just weren't recording :dunno:

And---total speculation with no evidence here--if someone you knew was at the home committing a crime that you had helped that person set up, what better way to clear you in the minds of all by having said person text you from the wife's phone, "saving your life" and clearing you of any suspicion in one fell swoop. Just an idea.

She received a voicemail on Wednesday evening from SS that the other housekeeper was spending the night. She knew this Wednesday evening (though we all doubt the housekeeper "spent the night" willingly) and thought SS's voice was tense.

Several articles stated that she did not listen to the voicemail until Thursday - though they don't say what time on Thursday she listened to it.

According to the Washington Post - She said she first listened to the message Thursday morning and immediately called Amy Savopoulos “to see if she was okay, but she never answered.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/local...140154-fbf7-11e4-9030-b4732caefe81_story.html

My two questions are:

What time did she listen to the voicemail on Thursday?

Why did Mr. Savopoulos's sister think he sounded "in good spirits"?

Or why MS-13 is considered to be involved, simply b/c the housekeeper is from El Salvador? If she was American, would be speculate that the Aryan Brotherhood was involved?
An innocent suggestion IMO . Why is everyone getting offended in this thread?

The only thing (I can think of) that could be even slightly possible is that SS had contacted his assistant to bring "whatever it was the perp/s wanted" and so he thought that the whole thing might be over soon (never suspecting they would still be killed).

The victims were terrorized for hours -- for money. Heartless and horrific.

I didn't know this area was known to be a crime area. We have the latest security system including cameras and we live in a very safe neighborhood with no crime. We do activate it fully at night but don't during the day. I do keep the outside security doors locked but my entry doors are open.

I don't think any of us can say with any certainty what the robbers would do or not do.

Children have been murdered in home invasion robberies before when they did not know the stranger murderer who killed them. They aren't only murdered because they know the perp. They have been murdered because the murderer knows they could give a description of them to LE and help ID them.

While this may be someone the family knew such as a employee or past employee it seems the motive was robbery. LE has said that Savvas finally gave them (the murderer or murderers) what they wanted on Thursday afternoon. I don't think there is any indication this was personal or a vendetta. Imo, they came there to rob this family and Savvas held out as long as he could because he knew once he gave them what they came for they would murder them all and that is exactly what they did. They probably killed the maid first and told him the next one would be his wife or child. They probably tortured this poor man until he couldn't take it anymore.

IMO

BBM

The crime levels in this area--for serious offenses--are probably in the single digits. It's a VERY safe area. Just an educated guess, but I would think their neighborhood would be considered one of the safest of any major US city. That is one of the reasons this crime is so hard to fathom.

Still, it is in the city, not the suburbs...

"She was feeling a lot of stress from her job" says NG of the slain housekeeper. I wonder what was the cause of the stress. I know all jobs have there moments of stress but what was the main reason she felt that way?

From same article:

"The physical stress of housekeeping was starting to take its toll, and she complained that she missed her children, Gutierrez said."

It's possible they weren't recording but a random robber would not know that. Only someone familiar with the household would know that tidbit.

An amazing woman...a terrific Mother...and a life truly well-lived. How dare some lowlife deprive her of her hard-earned dream.

I remember the case where three or four perps entered a home that had four people residing in it. One female and three men. They demanded money but they didn't have much money. They held them hostage for two or three days. They raped the woman over and over again. They had separated her from the men and tied them up. Then they took a power drill and drilled it into the knee caps of the men and into their ankle bones. Not a damn one of the perps knew the victims. They just did it because they could.

It is like when these twisted home invaders strike they know the victims are at their mercy and they have no mercy for anyone. They don't have to know the victims. They kill them all because they know that even the children can assist the police in IDing them.

I still say the motive for murdering this entire family and maid was to rob this family and what so often happens after they get what they want they murder everyone in the home.

Its incomprehensible to even imagine what these people went through trying to save their lives. Savvas knew once they had what they wanted he and the rest of them became expendable.:( I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the ME found that Savvas had been brutally tortured and beaten before death. They may have even thrown the gasoline on him while he was still alive and lit it. I think these are some very very bad dangerous people who were ruthless. Greed is truly the root of all evil.

It truly is so tragic for all people involved that lost their life to some lowlife scum.

To know she was going to go home soon to be with her children and her dreams and theirs ended so tragically.

I am having a hard time seeing this as a random crime. But it has happened before...I suppose it is possible. But low on my list. I think the perp(s) had some link to the family. Jmo

I don't know that the housekeeper is telling the truth about when she actually listened to the voice message. LE can get her phone records and find out if she's telling the truth. Because the bigger question is, if the housekeeper found SS's voice mail to be so suspicious, why didn't she report it immediately?
