I worry it may be an attempt to get lots of first responders in one place for purposes of causing the most harm to that group of individuals.

Praying this resolves with no violence.

Or... perpetrate an attack in another area of D.C. while LE is focused on the Navy Yard. :moo:

Yep exactly, me too. Been tweeting that like mad at all the people complaining that it was a hoax. I dont think "hoax" is right. Diversion maybe. Test run maybe. Not "hoax", as in "practical joke that is funny for somebody". Not for a second.

My first thought was "test run," though I deeply hope that is not the case. It could be, instead, simply a serious response to a false report.

There are only a finite number of resources. IMO This weekend, LE should repond to anything "carefully" at first. We have not seen what could happen if a false event called in solely for the purposes of getting LE in one place while really targeting someplace elese - that could be a super big mess
