Does the court consider the murderer's mother a suitable supervisor of his calls and letters? That can't be right or at least, it shouldn't be right. Third-party supervision makes sense, but not any family member on either side. IMO.

Unless I am not understanding it correctly that is exactly what is going to happen. DCF and GAL recommended a third party but it was shot down by the judge because of the limitations time wise it would put on MS's access to the girls.

But the jail isn't going to call Mary back and say Mark told the kids you are poisoning them or whatever.

The jail would simply wait for the next hearing before Mary even knows what's being said. But if she knows that day. Then she could have a talk with the kids and immediately push for an emergency hearing.

D c f I think can request the phone call tapes. They still have legal custody. Mary just has physical custody

Thanks for all the minute by minute updates! Y'all are awesome. I doubt anyone following this forum worked today...well maybe some of us sat in your office with your door closed following WS or Twitter. I also appreciate the comic relief some of you provided throughout the day. I believe Teresa's smiling down.

For me, it's been a roller-coaster day where emotions are concerned. I don't agree with some of the decisions made but am truly grateful MAG got custody of the children. I am concerned about BS having the children, unsupervised, for the weekends.

Because this judge has seen many parenting arguments and games played with his experience,I trust that the judge and DCF are 3 steps ahead of MS and his legal team in the game of chess. The judge probably already knows exactly the ruling he will render once MS makes his next parenting mistake. He just has to wait for MS's next move. Then the girls will see clues why their future calls/visits will be monitored. Hopefully then the blame wont be assumed to be the judges or MAG's fault in their eyes. I am guessing it's got to be a choreographed strategy to sway the girls slowly into appreciating TS's family

I certainly pray you are correct - we've seen too many cases where the children fall througth the cracks, so-to-speak. I hope this case is the exception. I only want the best possible outcome for these girls.

Sorry, pain med's may be clouding my judgement.

First, why doesn't MAG ask her lawyer about recording the conversations? What will happen if MAG told MS at the beginning of each call that it was being recorded? He knows the calls are recorded at jail, so what difference does it make? I am sure MS would take her to court over it! Just a thought.

Tuning very, very late to this case! Marking my spot. You all are doing an AMAZING job keeping track of all these moving parts. Way to go Sleuthers.

As many of you are, I was disappointed that the Judge did not put some restrictions on the phone calls to the girls. MS is only harassing MAG. Maybe down the road that will be added.

My opinion on the jail visits is the girls will decide they don't like going there. It is a scary environment for two little girls to be in, then the reality that Daddy lives there is going to be hard on them, seeing Daddy on a TV screen and not in person, unable to hug or touch him, it will be too much for them and they will slowly withdraw and quit going.

When this happens, we all know what MS's temper will do! Of course, MAG will get the blame at first, but there will be the GAL and the therapist who can testify how these jail visits upset and disturbed the girls. And then there will be the phone call recordings at jail that will be the tell-all on MS. He used the rope the Judge gave him and hanged himself!

It is just a matter of time - MS's parental rights will be slowly stripped away by his own actions.

My opinions only.

But-but-but- we've already seen the damage MS has done on the girls from day 1, they don't think he's done anything wrong, they've been programed to believe their father is in jail because of "other" people.
He is NEVER going to admit to them that he was the one that had their mother murdered, they know NOTHING else.
Having jail visits will only reinforce that brainwashing further. "See we get to see our daddy now" AND "we get to talk to him on the phone and he tells us how to be safe from those evil people that put our Daddy in jail".
They CANNOT fathom their Daddy did that, because Daddy says Jesus is watching over us and WE always tell the truth.
NO matter how much treatment they get, they CANNOT be made to believe that Daddy did that to Mommy.
He had them too long before he was arrested, can we imagine all those LONG talks he had with them? I can. The "I love you and you know I would NEVER hurt you or Mommy" and on and on and....
I believe they will grow up to be adults that feel wrong was done to Daddy.
He was the fun guy that let us do ALL kinds of fun stuff when Mommy was at work, remember girls? I never let you down , even after Mommy was dead, we still did all those fun thing.
Talk about children paying the price for a parents evil, this one tops it!!
They've already expressed they don't want to be where they're at now, this will only make it worse for them on any possible recovery. Unless they are sat down and given the REAL truth, one word at a time and the whole story, but even then, NO ONE CAN MAKE A CHILD BELIEVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT, if a person they LOVE has told them different. Sorry to sound like a downer.
I once knew (35 years ago) a 4 year old child that was set on top of a hot red stove burner by her mother and placed into foster care, and that child screamed for hours every night for her mother. Just an example of a childs brain function. At that time I had 2 foster babies , brothers, 6 months old and 18 months old and cried for their drug addicted mother that left them alone every night,by themselves in the same crib with 2 other brothers from the time the 6 month old was born. They loved to go on their weekly visits with Mom, because she fed them candy. This is the mind and heart of children and dcf and the judge should know better. Some my opinion , some not (fact).

I wish we knew the date of that phone call. Was it before or after the bond hearing? Before or after the first degree murder charge?
Maybe I watch too much tv, but MS's comment stating he is going to get out as soon 'as soon as he can' sounds to me like someone planning to escape. I just find the way he worded it very odd.

According to this article, that phone call was on April 3rd.
http://www.winknews.com/2016/05/16/phone-conversations-at-the-center-of-sievers-custody-hearing/

Motion for reduction of bond was filed on March 29th.

The bond reduction hearing was on April 21st.

Indictment was filed May 4th.

I hope DCF checks all phone calls every week. That is the only way MS might behave, the only way he will be caught when he does not behave.

Can DCF check mail that is held back by the jail for violating Judges rules? My fear is Mummert will sneak mail out of the jail and take it to BS for the girls....it probably has been done already...JMO.

Just a matter of time.

Uncle Curtis told people that he was going to Florida to do some work for you. So why are you mad at grandma groves. She never knew Uncle Curtis until he came for the funeral of mom. So be mad at Uncle Curtis and not grandma. Jmo.

Hopefully the kids will soon think this way. But it's going to take time. MS has manipulated every female family member in his life. No shame that man.
