The pic of the hair tie is definetly a make shift one. There is writing on it...can anyone make out what it says?

I agree. Maybe it was normally used to tie the laundry bag with? Tried to find a better/sharper pic to see what is written on it.... couldn't find it yet. Something like T F (or E) K and a number (8?) under it...I'm not very good in this.

Hmm, I'm not seeing it. Eyes very different.

I'm not saying Henriette is this UID but this is a recon...her eyes were actually closed when they found her..look at PM picture... in what way you think the eyes are different?

Maybe the writing on the makeshift hair tie was done through police, I'd #?
I wonder if her face and nose is really slimmer, and pregnancy is giving her a (different) look?
Hard to believe she has been unidentified since 67!

I told Colleen about her and sent her the DNA article via FB PM. I don't know if she called LE to ask about the family match they couldn't figure out. Praying she can help

Great....thanks!

The substance found in her uterus...do we know what it was??....was it a mixture of things you could easily get from a store or substances difficult for the average person to find unless you were, say a doctor?

Hi, I haven't been here in a while but I've seen the PM pictures many times. But after looking at the PM and Henriette comparison again, I think even more that I don't see a resemblance.
My reasoning:
-It's all about proportion. Even considering the UID may have been swollen due to the circumstances, her eyes are larger in proportion to her face than H's. H has relatively small eyes. UID's eyes are obviously much larger. Also UID has very prominent lids that I really believe were not due to swelling, I think that's how they were naturally.
-UID's lips are significantly fuller than H's--I think this is how they were naturally.
-H's chin-to-mouth space is proportionally larger than UID's. H's chin is longer.
-UID nose appears to have a different shape [slightly more bulbous than H's] --but that's being very very perskickety, I concede

Just my humble opinion and of course I could be wrong.

Wauw! Great job Carl! She is listed as white female. Do you think she could be "mixed"? What is your opinion on that?

Thanks Carl!!!!
Yes, I believe she is possibly Italian or Mediterranean possibly..

  • #413
Italian or Mediterranean would most likely show up on DNA as "white."

Carbuff, do you think Latino (mixed with white) should be excluded, bases on the DNA?

Any info on the red makeshift hair tie..the serial of numbers...was that put there by the authorities to log in as evidence or was it on there when body found? Looks like this cloth was ripped to make a hair tie to hold her hair back. Curtain? Sheet ?

Personally, I never exclude anybody based strictly on race. Hispanic or Latinx are usually considered ethnicities of Caucasian, not a separate race. So no, I wouldn't exclude.

Latinos have a variety of very distinct genetic profiles. Latinos from South and Central American often have a good deal of European and indigenous American DNA, also, because Spain is so close to N. Africa, Spaniards often have sequences of N. African ancestral DNA. That is quite different from profiles from N. Europe and the Caucuses.

Color of skin is just another outward marker of genetics, not vice-versa. It is possible to distinguish between different ancestral geographic origin. Primarily Italian and Mediterranean DNA is quite different than other "white" DNA.

If the laundry bag is from Trenton, it's worth pointing out that pretty much everyone in Trenton was Italian back then.
