kbl--Can you please remove your post #330 as it copies the info I posted which we now know to be incorrect. Thanks.

Nomoresorrow--You are right. It is a wall of silence. I'm starting to think that it extended beyond the doctors, too, throughout the staff. You know what bothered me most about Dr. Scott? It was his comment that it was all a joke. Referring to a professional who works with babies as a pedophile is a joke? The man should be ashamed and sanctioned.

Scott doesn't have the right to treat gerbils, IMO. They deserve far better.

Widener dean to lead probe into failures in the Dr. Earl Bradley sex abuse case

Gov. Jack Markell has chosen a veteran attorney and educator to examine systemic failures that kept an alleged pedophile doctor in Lewes free despite years of suspicions and broken investigations.

Linda L. Ammons, professor and Dean of the Widener University School of Law, was named this morning to head the state’s independent investigation into events and issues surrounding the case of Dr. Earl B. Bradley.
....
Ammons, who has wide experience in government ethics and health policy, has led Widener’s law school since July 2006. She was an executive assistant and legal adviser to Ohio Gov. Richard F. Celeste from 1988 to 1991, focusing on criminal justice, regulatory and administrative policy matters, then served for 15 years as a professor and associate dean at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.

good ol' Uncle Bill -- guess giving away $$ was working out for him. :furious:

<snip>

According to his obituary, William Bradley received his master's degree in clinical psychology and his doctorate in education from Temple University in 1943.

After graduation, William Bradley went on to the U.S. Naval Air Development Center of Pennsylvania, where he was chief psychophysiologist. He then taught at Montgomery County Community College and New Jersey's Rider College, as well as several high schools.

He gave $1 million to Centre Community Hospital, according to his 1997 obit. He also was a major contributor to Temple University and Montgomery County Community College.

Did you notice that he only gave Earl $1000 and his Dad's watch, which he'd been holding for some reason? This leads me to believe that this must be Earl's father's brother. $1000 sounds like a slap in the face given the million gift to the college.

From one of the articles I read, it sounded like William taught high school until late in his life. Why aren't we hearing from former students? And would his positions at the different colleges and Naval center have brought him into contact with kids? He sure seemed comfortable around them. Is it possible that this indecency was an outgrowth of dementia? I don't think so. Notice, though, that the numerous incidents were all around the same time. It bothered me that they bundled them together for the ease of the court. What about the victims?

When you compare the two Drs. Bradley, there's several similarities. Both gave back to their communities. William gifted colleges and hospitals with big bucks. Earl paid for low income kids' medical care out of his own pocket and helped his nieces run a charity which provides free funerals for stillborn babies.

Doesn't it remind everyone of the magic trick--3 cups and a ball? You're so busy watching the cups move or the doctors doing good deeds that you lose the ball...or a child.

What price silence?

Texas Mist--Did you ever find anything more concerning the "armed" hold-up of Dr. Bradley in the hospital parking lot? I'd love to hear from that guy. That's smells pretty fishy to me, now that we know what we know. I wonder if that man has children.

Bradley waives preliminary hearing

By DAN SHORTRIDGE • The News Journal • January 14, 2010

GEORGETOWN -- Dr. Earl Bradley waived a preliminary hearing this morning on child sex abuse charges.
....
Kania also waived a bond review, and said he doesnÂ’t believe there will be any attempt to get the bond reduced. Bradley is being held in lieu of $2.9 million cash bail.

The case will now be heard by a grand jury and if an indictment is handed up the case will go to Superior Court.

ETA:

Bradley waives preliminary hearing; case will proceed to Superior Court

We continue to do everything necessary to pursue this case to the fullest extent of the law,” Attorney General Biden stated. “This investigation, led by the Delaware Department of Justice, Delaware Child Predator Task Force, and Delaware State Police, is ongoing and we continue to review all of the evidence in this case as quickly as possible.”

Biden emphasized that the Delaware Department of Justice office in Lewes, which opened Jan. 1, is fully staffed. That facility, at 105 W 4th St., is being used to store and review records in this case and to house staff assigned to the investigation.

All of Doctor BradleyÂ’s patient records have been moved to this secure facility so that a team of prosecutors and investigators can review them. These files remain accessible to parents or caregivers of current and former patients. Parents or caregivers should call the Delaware Department of Justice Lewes office at 302-645-4010 to request a copy of their childÂ’s pediatric file. Parents and caretakers can also visit this office to share information about the investigation and to obtain counseling referrals and other victim resources.

I've spent some time, but not a lot, trying to find out more & haven't. I'll give it another go when I get the chance. :)

I was rereading some of our earlier posts and came across this:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34570779/

"He also said doctors who already have full practices have arranged to take Bradley's patients, who he estimated "runs in the thousands."

Yet another article today commented that the victims "could total 100". Given the first quote, I'm not overly hopeful that the ticker's going to stop at 100. And these are just the current patients. The guy is 56. We've got to look back almost 50 years.

How many snowflakes are there?

I ran across this article from a few days ago that didn't make it into our thread here for discussion...it's 7 pages.

One thing that really stood out to me is the monster's idea of a 'fun' basement -- he had a life-size Freddie Krueger doll  that scared the kids...just goes to show he was into the 'show' -- Little Mermaid & Buzz Lightyear for everyone to see, Freddie Krueger hidden in the basement where he raped the little ones.

The article mentions some really sick twisted behavior by the pedo pediatrician:

This article made me nauseous. It is not for the faint of heart....but I have to say this. His attorney needs to shut up. I mean it-just shut up. Do not comment, do not try and do damage control in the press. I am not interested in hearing about your client's possible mental defects after reading what he did to a 2 year old and an infant while he filmed himself.

words fail.

Texas Mist--The link works but several words are cut off at the end of each line. I've tried seeing if this was syndicated but I can't find it. Help!!

The comments are certainly worth reading too (those come up fine). They make it clear that many many caring and engaged parents were fooled by this man. He was sooooo good at what he did. He spent years and tons of money and energy building trust and luring his victims (often the parents, actually).

That's why I don't believe for a single second that this is going to stop at 100.

I had the same problem using FireFox -- had to use Internet Explorer to read it all. (they need a new webmaster, IMO!)

ETA: did you see the comment about him creeping out the clerk at the Disney store? poor thing - now that person, who thought he was creepy - has to think about what he was using all the Disney stuff for! :(

There were people who knew something was wrong -- at least 5 years ago!!

A former worker also said she received several complaints from parents regarding improper touching by Bradley. When Bradley would pick up the girls, he would have his hands under their clothing, she said.

Hint from Miss Can't-Tell-The-Difference-Between-The-Laptop-and-the-Dog:

Go to:

and click on Print. When the different format comes up, disable print, and you can read the entire article (every single disgusting word). Hope that helps.

Oh...my....Lord!! That was unbelievable. I think that we're going to be referring to Dr. Bradley in the same way as we do Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Jack the Ripper. He's the absolute epitome of evil.

For the very first time in twelve years, I don't feel alone in my naivete. I don't feel so stupid. Good parents can be duped. Notice that the article talks about how he "seduced parents". Well, I was seduced and I've never forgiven myself. Those poor parents. They must be grieving terribly.

I hope the general public will stop the "holier than thou" garbage and pay attention to just how "good" pedophiles can be at their craft. Don't play haughty with me...."never turn my back on my child".....as yes you do, and yes it could happen to you too. It's all fine to be humble after the fact but the best course of action is to be humble before the fact.

I think that we have to pull ourselves up short, get on with this trial, and set about changing this system so it can NEVER happen again like this. These parents were not negligent, they were manipulated by a magician. Their innocent children disappeared before their very eyes. I hope that every doctor, every nurse, every receptionist is quaking in their boots because they did NOT act on their gut reactions. I know that they are dedicated to kids but they ignored warning signs. And children suffered.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that many many people have been guilty of naivete, gullibility, blind trust. But only one man will stand before us--guilty of raping children in front of their parents.

Dr. Bradley, the office is closed. The children have gone home.

most of the parents trusted a peditrician who is sworn to rpotect his patients....i cannot lay the blame at there feet
there are 2 exceptions though....the tool who's daughter told him the doctor "hurt her', being one. i dont care what her physical ailment was, he could have at least asked her what she meant. instead he did nothing, said nothing, and let her mom take her back. the other is the fool who stood there and watched him finger her daughter while he made up one of the worst excuses ever.....she should have beaten the snot out of hiim right there.
the parent i feel worst for is the one who reported the girls strange behavior back to the doctor and then found herself facing bogus accusastions from the rapist himself.
