Some dentists should not see children at all. They are really not emotionally equipped to deal with it in a healthy way.

Some dentists should not see children at all. They are really not emotionally equipped to deal with it in a healthy way.
That's horrible!! To threaten a child with making the person who comforts them leave... I've never been asked to leave a room with my dd. I did willing leave the room when she had an IV put in at the ER (only a few months old), but I made dh stay in the room for that. I couldn't handle it. However, had dh not been there, I would have stayed. The only time my parents ever left me in a room was when I had to have a spinal tap at 7 weeks. Due to the extreme precision required, and the fact I was a squirming infant, the medical staff would request parents leave so the parents didn't do something that would interfere with the procedure. In most circumstances, the doctors I know will typically ask the parents for assistance when needed.
First off, thank you for sharing your story not_my_kids. I am so pleased you've been able to speak out to help others. And you are so right in pointing out that parents, and the general public, can be in total denial and refuse to see. (((hugs)))
I also wanted to agree, first with Mysteriew, concerning the fact that predators "choose" carefully. Is it really any different than a wild cat or other predatory animal? They are hungry but they're usually not stupid. When we moved in next door to the young man who raped our kids, he was probably licking his chops. He already had years under his belt of sexually abusing children and mutilating animals. I'm sure he could not believe his good fortune.
It's never escaped me that he courted our two teen daughters--both cute, bright, strong, and socially connected teens. They wouldn't give him the time of day and I actually jumped on them many times for being rude to him or laughing about him. That's about the time he gave up on them and started molesting the younger children. He wasn't choosy, either. He raped both boys and girls. I would hazard a guess that the 13 year old who Dr. Bradley molested was probably vulnerable in some way. Neither got caught until they got too greedy. Just like Bleyle.
And impatientredhead, I agree that most likely, Dr. Bradley had many single visit patients. His demeanor would have been too off-putting for most parents. Our neighbor was exactly like Dr. Bradley--socially inept, immature, odd, and eccentric. That's the reason he had no friends his own age. I still believe that he had some sort of developmental disability but it's never come out. I wouldn't doubt that Dr. Bradley is going to be diagnosed with a number of mental illnesses besides pedophila.
Speaking of professionals and pedophilia, I don't know if anyone has looked at the thread I started concerning a Southern Oregon pedophile who was just extradited from Israel and returned to Oregon for sentencing. He hid in Israel for almost a decade. He was a well respected (but very strange) therapist who specialized in working with young boys who'd been sexually abused--many of whom also had special needs. If you look at my first post, you'll see a link to his appeal (which ordered him to be resentenced for the appropriate length of time). What's interesting and pertinent about this appeal is that it came out that this man was certified as a psychologist and known to be working with children all while he was receiving decades of therapy for PEDOPHILIA!! This just blows my mind. Is no one culpable for allowing doctors, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to continue to work with their victim base?
I'm shocked that Dr. Bradley had a wife with whom he stayed married long enough to have four children. I'd sure like to hear her side of the story. He has at least two daughters. I wonder if they'll be speaking out?

I had an awesome dentist as a child, Dr. Clark. He would hum the elevator music coming out of the intercom during the exam and give out sugar-free bubble gum at the end. He was kind and grandfatherly and when he would talk, he always had fresh breath. Never stinky.
My pediatrician was also the bomb, my mom worked for him and his was the office that treated about 90% of the child population in our town. He is Korean and used to make fun of his own accent and tell silly jokes to make us kids laugh. He was a riot, still is. Always had Dum-dums to give out at the end of the exam. I even remember the names of the staff from when my mom worked there and she stopped working for him when I was 3. I even remember the "Rabbit" one of them used to drive, it was brown and we called it the "Chocolate Rabbit". He still remembers me even though I haven't been his patient for close to 3 decades
I remember most of my visits to both of these offices, vividly. I even remember visits from a very early age, not as an infant but definitely as a young toddler. I've heard that early childhood memories come from either very euphoric or very traumatizing events to the child. To a young child, euphoric and traumatic memories can come from something as simple as an ice cream cone with dad, a tickle match with mom or big sis sharing a beloved toy(euphoria) or throwing up for the first time or mom crying because she got her first traffic ticket or a shot from the Doctor (trauma).
I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that the memories of this horrible animal are going to be the first memories for some of these defenseless babies. How can people do these things to innocent creatures? Babies, animals, etc. I'm so angry at this piece of garbage. I really hope he dies a horrific and painful death and soon. I'm not a hateful or vindictive person, I don't even really understand those feelings and I know it's wrong to wish these things on people. But, towards this monster, I completely comprehend these feelings and actually embrace them. Instead of a firing line, they should place him in a ball kicking line every day for the rest of his pathetic life! (Sorry guys, didn't mean to make you cringe)
I hope all these children and their families can heal. Does this filthy piece of crap even realize how many lives he's possibly ruined? How do people that commit these horrible acts not care about the aftermath they cause? Just because they are children now it doesn't mean they won't grow into adults that remember the horrible things that happened to them. Stupid creeps, I hate all of 'em!

This is my first time posting here.
I live in Philadelphia, and this story came on the news a week ago. I took it upon myself to go to each website Dr Douche was promoted on, and write each one a letter, giving them the link to the news story. Surprisingly, he's still up on a good portion of the websites. You would think they would want to take a repeat child rapist off their list of physicians.

Welcome Nicole!! That was a great thing to do. Don't be surprised, though, if it takes a long time (if ever) for those sites to take Dr. Douche (nice name BTW) off their sites. If you look up printers in the Antioch, CA area, you can still probably find Phillip Garrido (I'm making this up but I don't doubt it).

GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - A Delaware official said Wednesday there could be more than 100 potential victims of a pediatrician charged with sexually abusing patients, and authorities are offering counseling and seeking help from parents in the investigation.
Alexis Slutsky, a deputy attorney general assigned to the state's Child Predator Task Force, said the volume of evidence seized from Dr. Earl Bradley's practice and home, including video tapes and computer files, makes it difficult to estimate the number of victims.
"I'm comfortable in saying probably well over 100 potential victims," she said at a news conference with Attorney General Beau Biden and other law enforcement officials.
Slutsky said the investigation is focusing on cases between 1998 and the present.

"As of this moment, we have not identified all of the victims in this case, and the investigation is ongoing in an aggressive fashion," Biden said.
Bradley's office was known for its many toys and the rides he had in front. On Wednesday, the deserted office looked more like a small run-down carnival than a pediatric office, including a small merry-go-round and Ferris wheel. A pink sign in front of one building read: "Princess Parking only. All Others will be toad."

Duckworth said his granddaughter had two appointments with Bradley, but his daughter decided to get a new doctor about four years ago after Bradley asked to see the girl alone.
"There was a point in the examination when he wanted to take my granddaughter away and my daughter wouldn't let him do that," Duckworth said.
Bradley also had medical licenses in Florida and New Jersey.

Been doing a bit of sleuthing and this is what I've found.
Dr. Bradley's residence (at least one of them) is directly across from the Beebe Medical Complex (presumably this is where the name, Baybee's, comes from). From reading comments from local news sources, it sounds as if some of Dr. Bradley's children still live there. FWIW, it looks to me as if at least two of them are quite bright and are earning advanced degrees. All the kids I find are very involved in their community. Lewes Pediatrics which lists Dr. Bradley as the doctor is 1.5 miles away. Baybee's is about the same distance from his home.
Another interesting issue is that there is another person listed as living in that town with the same last name. That person is a male and is noted to live with an E. Bradley. Here's a link to an article which that person (totally unsure if he's related or not, see what you think) published. I find it interesting that that person writes on Newborn Health.

I imagine these parents are living their worst nightmares right now. My heart goes out to them. These sound like loving and careful parents IMO. Dr. Bradley seems to have been very very good at what he did. With all my checking, it also seems as if that last name is known in town. That can also contribute to a level of trust. JMO

Well, that's chilling news. My lord. This is getting uglier by the second. I really feel for the detectives who are having to watch this nasty stuff. Two days before Christmas. I know they are highly trained but they are parents and grandparents too. How awful!!

The article you linked, Texas Mist, states that Bradley has been in town since about 1994. Where did he come from? Has anyone found his CV, as I can't. I also noted this:

By the way, both of the posters who say their children were his patients say he'd take the child away either to give a treat (downstairs) or to walk around the hall.
This guy had access to a lot of children, and it appears it was his pattern to take the child somewhere off by himself.

The way the poster to the news site is behaving isn't surprising to me, trying to minimize it, intentionally overlooking things.
I am afraid it was a variation of the same attitude that let it go on.
I don't live in a small town, and I never have, but for those that do, would the small town atmosphere maybe have helped him keep this going? None of the parents wanted to believe it and they were all afraid to be the bad guy that started the "witchhunt" on the nice old doctor?

I wonder if it was the monster himself writing these reviews...I found a similar one from August 2009:
Dr Bradley is a wonderful doctor he is a little different and seems a little more at ease with children than he does their parents........They actually stayed open a little late just to make sure my baby then 6 monthes was taken care of.

I'm still digging for florida & new jersey info.
He isn't writing it while he is in jail on 2.9 million bail. Somehow I don't think they let him use the internet and post pretending to be the parent of his patients.
Good thing police say they have the videos. Otherwise, it would be easier to believe the doctor did not do anything wrong than the alternative.

Texas Mist, I saw another one as well that was similar. You might be right given that the other "review site" only rated him a 2.5 out of possible 5 points. That sounds just like something he would do to keep those babies coming in.
And I did note that both parents on the news forum commented about him "walking the babies" down the hall. I've raised 18 kids and been present at many of my grandbabies' births and check-ups and I don't think I've ever had the doctor do that.
I understand all about the element of trust but I'd think that would come up between Moms talking over coffee. One of our dentists puts on funny bouncy antennae when working on a frightened child but the child is asked if it's OK. I remember telling another Mom about that when she told me her child was frightened of the dentist. I told her he also used his "Donald Duck" voice (which drove me nuts but which always makes my kids laugh). That's the sort of thing you mention to another parent. In our town we all know a delightful doctor who has the nurse from hell. You always pray that you get the "other nurse". Parents talk and I'm surprised that this wasn't exposed sooner.
Maybe there's something about the location of the town (a commuter area), the transiency of the residents (a college nearby?), tourism (tourist babies?) and so on that we don't understand. Nothing excuses or rationalizes any part of this. It would just be good to see where communication broke down so that it doesn't happen in another place. It would be great to hear from a local.
I'd like to address the question posed by not_my_kids. Most definitely, the small town atmosphere is somewhat a factor. It can go two ways, though. In a small town, everyone has a "persona". There's not a single one of you who couldn't find me if you came to my town and gave a few facts to the barrista at the coffee house. It's hard to change that persona if it is less than positive and that's why a lot of people end up moving on. Nobody wants to be remembered forever for mowing down the mayor's car while drunk after a party. If you are the Chester Molester guy, everyone will know, and you'll probably have to move on down the road a bit.
There's a dichotomy, however, as people assume that if you are in a small town, you are somewhat safer. One would think that in a town of only 3,100 people, parents would talk about this doctor at the coffee house or church. My guess is that there were whispers. There were in our case. I'm watching to see if the "I knew it!!" folks will be out it force. They were here. I could have throttled them. I mean, how cruel is it to have strong suspicions or even to have some funky info on a guy and to not warn people? It's like not mentioning that a train is bearing down on somebody who's tying their shoe. That's how we felt....too trusting, not informed, gullible, and stupid (and don't anybody argue with me, please!!).
I think people have their guard up a bit (or a lot) more in an urban area. And remember, there's always the issue of eccentricity. A lot of small artsy kind of towns (ours is, not sure about Lewes) value eccentricity above almost anything. Pedophiles are just downright experts at "reading" the territory and honing in on the prey.
And I did note that both parents on the news forum commented about him "walking the babies" down the hall. I've raised 18 kids and been present at many of my grandbabies' births and check-ups and I don't think I've ever had the doctor do that.
