I live in the area - how can they say no threat to public safety if she's found dead in a field? Does that usually mean an arrest has been made/suspect identified? Or that she did something to herself?

I would almost suggest she was hit by a car but unfortunately the possession of a weapon charge leads me to believe she was probably beaten

This is awful. I go to school with her. One of the "friends" that dropped her off was someone I knew. Super sketchy and upsetting.
Interesting. I would love to hear from an insider on this case about this suspect, especially considering your tone.

And conspiracy? That would indicate someone else is involved IMO

Court docs: Ex-boyfriend confessed to killing Newark Charter student with a baseball bat

An ex-boyfriend of Madison Sparrow is in jail after admitting to killing the 17-year-old Newark girl who went missing Friday, according to court documents.

Noah M. Sharp, 19, is charged with first-degree murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and first-degree conspiracy. He was jailed after failing to post $1 million cash bail.

Sparrow, a junior at Newark Charter School, told her family she was going out with a female friend to get ice cream and buy a birthday present for her sister Friday afternoon. The family reported her missing Friday evening.

An interview with one of Sparrow’s friends led police to develop Sharp as a suspect.

Court documents allege Sharp used an aluminum baseball bat to fatally strike Sparrow in the head in a wooded area behind Maclary Elementary School on Friday afternoon or evening. Detectives searched the woods and found the bat, blood droplets and Sparrow’s clothing.

In an interview with police, Sharp confessed to the killing and directed detectives to a wooded area near Interstate 95 and Del. 896, where they found Sparrow’s body, according to court documents. An autopsy ruled her death homicide by blunt-force trauma.

Sharp told police that he planned the killing with another person, who is not identified in court documents.

Cpl. Heather Pepper, a spokeswoman for Delaware State Police, said the investigation is continuing.

“At this time, there is information indicating additional individuals may be involved in this homicide,” she said.
