I’m guessing collapsed veins due to drug use are the reason they drew blood from the feet?

“While at Troop 5, a warrant was approved allowing investigators to have Wilkerson's blood drawn. Because attempts to draw blood from the veins in his arms were unsuccessful, according to documents, the phlebotomist needed to try drawing blood from Wilkerson's feet.”

Scelerosed veins. Just my experience sticking someone even for a TCell count they go OFF even though it's their fault they scarred their veins.

Respect and prayers Corporal Heacook.

DELAWARE – The man convicted of killing Delmar Police Corporal Keith Heacook has been sentenced to prison.

Randon Wilkerson was sentenced Friday morning to two consecutive life sentences plus 212 years and 30 days, all to run consecutively.

“Justice is served, it just unfortunately can’t bring him back,” explained Anita Feaster, Cpl. Heacook’s sister. “The family can start to breathe and hopefully we can get some healing. It’s gonna be a longtime healing, but hopefully we’re gonna get there.”

Closure was the sentiment inside the courtroom as Cpl. Heacook’s family, the Delmar community, and law enforcement alike gathered for the final chapter of what has been a years long battle for justice.

The man found guilty of killing Delmar police officer Cpl. Keith Heacook in April 2021 is appealing his conviction on 16 charges, including first-degree murder, to Delaware Supreme Court.

Randon Wilkerson, 32, was given two life sentences plus 212 years in prison in December after he was found guilty of Heacook’s murder. An appeal was always part of the legal strategy of Wilkerson’s attorney, Patrick Collins.

In October, Wilkerson elected to have a bench trial, with evidence and verdict determined by a judge instead of a jury. This was due, in part, to the evidence against him and to move forward with an appeal faster. That meant there was no eyewitness testimony from the stand and little physical evidence presented during the trial, overseen by Judge Craig Karznitz.
