You can't bring anyone in if they don't want to talk. That is the problem they had in the Cummings Case. He and his wife refused to talk to LE. They had lawyered up.

They had many invitations but wouldn't go...same with Lisa's bio parents.

This is where I am confused-Lisa's parents were interviewed multiple times, correct? They declined to waive their right to an attorney and they declined to be interviewed separately, if I recall correctly. At some point, their attorney pulled the plug. I understand why the attorney pulled the plug-in the event that these parents have nothing to do with this disappearance, this has to seem like harrassment to them. If they did have something to do with her disappearance, at some point they are going to be done giving statements.

Either way, LE has been using the media to apply public pressure and I am somewhat surprised as to the extent of this tactic. FWIW. I am a:fence: here.

My point was that Elizabeth Smart's parents didn't hear anything. It was nothing to do with the age of the child, only the lack of noise to alert to danger.
Obviously it is possible for someone to sneak into a house without alerting anyone. Burglars do it all of the time, and they get in locked doors.

First of all, Elizabeth Smart's bedroom was half the size of the Irwin home....her parents bedroom was another house away.

Secondly, Elizabeth's little sister, who was sober at the time, gave the information that eventually put her abductor and his accomplice in prison. Sadly she waited too long to tell them or ES may have been found right away.

Thirdly, Elizabeth was told not to say a word, and she didn't - a 10 month old baby who hadn't eaten or had her diaper changed in 6-11 hours, is bound to make noise at some point - IMO, probably cry while an abductor is trying to juggle her and three cell phones. NO ONE heard a baby crying that night - not in the house, not (allegedly), being carried down the street....a sick 10 month old....not crying at all.

Fourth HUGE difference between this case and the ES case - her parents NEVER sat up in their house without so much as a word to anyone. They were EVERYWHERE - anyone who would have them, they were there.

If we're going to compare, once again, the ES case to baby Lisa's - these things should be considered.

As a side note, Ed Smart and his brother went through unmitigated hell for a year, being accused of all sorts of horrible things, including child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬....and they still didn't sit up in their house.

If BS and Tac were not going to be on the show, controlling every word, I'd watch. Dr. Phil would, IMO, extract some answers from them alone. I just don't think it's going to happen. Why do they need their lawyers on a talk show? So that they don't incriminate themselves.....that and exposure for the lawyer and ... courtesy officer.

Ok, still shopping at Dollar General AFTER Dr. Phil. Mighty generous man, that Dr. Phil is. Just sayin....

Dollar General sighting, if it happened, had to be this week as she did not have new hair color before leaving. I saw the same old hair color on what would have to have been the day prior or the day of leaving for the show. I have not seen her this week since they got back to know if she has a new do or not.

Do you know when the taping was done?

And did they actually travel out of state for the taping?

The reason I ask is because in the clip I saw it doesn't look like they are in the studio with Dr. Phil. It looked like a satellite interview.

They could have done that from a studio in the Crossroads that networks etc use to interview folks for satellite interviews. There may be another one in KC. I just have personal knowledge of the Crossroads one.

Finally, for the record, if Dr. Phil pays me for an interview I'm shopping at Nordstrom's not Dollar General LOL

Yes, they did everything that was the correct thing to do until LE started using the media. Rather than it making them cave into the pressure, it backfired and they put up protective barriers. Now, imagine what would have happened if LE had not gone public incorrectly stating that they had quit cooperating. We more than likely, IMO, would have a totally different take on the case. I am trying to think of what they did wrong in the beginning. I can't think of anything. They came in for questioning several times without representation and separately even, submitted to lie detector tests voluntarily, let LE have unfettered access to their house for days, voluntarily let the FBI dogs come in, Phil let these same dogs search all of his property. They were even in the media. All of this seems forgotten. I would have a different opinion of them if they had not done this, but they did and it was all voluntary.

That's pretty much the way I look at it too. They DID do what is recommended that parents do in a missing child case. Then when LE had that presser where they said the parents were not cooperating, it just took a complete nose dive.

I think you're right Donjeta. I noticed the background on this shot matches the background in Dr Phil's shots. I guess that would mean BS was actually on set with Dr Phil, unlike D and J, who seem to appear on a screen ~ from some remote location. I wonder why this is?

Eeek! BS kind of creeps me out.

All I know is that it appeared that they *might* have been gone for a couple of days. When it appeared they were back is when Dr. Phil was announced. Where they were, I have no clue. They might have left town or they very well could have stayed in town and stayed somewhere else for prepping.

And yes, IF I had any kind of extra money, Dollar General would be totally crossed off the list of places to spend it. It is not like it is the only store around close.

The alleged shopping at the Dollar Store and looking at baby clothing and saying awww how cute is a rumour as far as I'm concerned. No offense to the poster who posted it but she didn't see it with her own eyes.

They have baby clothing at the Dollar Store down there? Lucky you. LOL

Does it "matter"? (changed to yes). The PHD is earned, can't take that away because he doesn't have a practice.

My question wasn't whether or not it mattered. Some were saying he's not a real doctor. He is. He has a Phd so the "Dr" title is not fake.

Yep a rumour as far as I am concerned also. Yes, here a small selection of baby/kids clothes. The family also still has 2 little boys in the house.

And I did see with my own eyes that DB did not have a new hair color late last week on what would be right before Dr. Phil.

Bumping for those who missed it.

Yes, N/T...I see him this time! Like N/T asks...does anyone know who the man with the beard is who is on the preview clip?

Ron Rugen has posted this on Twitter. Feb. 3 is the second day of the Nielsen Feb. sweeps.

ivanfoley: RT @KansasCityPI KMBC Channel 9 insider tells me Lisa Irwin's parents will appear on an episode of Dr. Phil to air on their station Feb 3

bumpity bump-I think we are heading into a General Discussion thread here.

A couple of people have said it looks like Bill Stanton with a beard. I agree.

This bearded man?

I would say definitely BS!

Alerts GALORE on this thread overnight!

The topic of this thread is-

Deborah Bradley & Jeremy Irwin's upcoming appearance on Dr. Phil.

I just moved one recent post to the correct topical thread. I'm not going to take the time to clean up all the others. Please do not quote those and exacerbate the off topic discussion.

This is not a general discussion thread. If this thread continues to veer off-topic, it will be closed until the show airs on Feb. 3rd.

Thank you, Ranch!
I posted the question before I read through all the thread! Oops!

That's interesting. The other option is that they flew to NYC to be with Tacopina (generally in cases like this the attorney wants to be sitting on the couch next to his/her clients to interject when needed) because Tacopina couldn't go to Calif but Stanton could so Bill is in studio with Dr. Phil but DB, JI and Tacopina are together in NYC. I thought I read Dr. Phil tapes in California but I must confess other than Tina Porter I don't think I've ever watched an episode of his.

Looks like the Dr Phil Show tapes in Hollywood CA.

Dr. Phil tapes before a studio audience at Stage 29 (the "Studio") at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood, California ("Paramount Lot").

Did anyone figure out who that guy on Dr. Phil is? I'm very curious because he says he didn't believe "them". Who is "them" and who is he and why is he on the Dr. Phil show? How is he connected to this case?

The only other guy I see in the video posted is BS. He seems to be IN studio, while Jeremy and Deb aren't...
