I would be cautious about what news sources are claiming right now, there is going to be a lot of paraphrasing and rehashing going on. The "suspect" comment was attributed to the CC police chief, but I don't think he is the lead investigator on the case. He may have meant POI.

The actual interview he gave was an unauthorized pre-press conference press conference in CC prior to attending the real one in Scurry county. He appeared to be talking off the cuff, so at this point one should not read too much meaning into his words.

An example of distortions in the media that comes from re-reporting older reports is their claim that "Investigators also said they discovered hundreds of articles about mass murderers in Adkins’s and Billie’s bedroom. Billie took responsibility for printing them out.". In fact we know how many articles there were, since they were listed in the early affidavits - actually there were 13, not "hundreds".

We need to wait until LE make their next move. My suspicion is that the amount of evidence they can use in court is limited. Plus, we have no idea what counter evidence there might be.

This should be an interesting trial. And there will be one. Just from statements LE have made today I feel confident an arrest is in the near future.

I am visiting my parents and when I saw the news, I said "oh my gosh!" out loud. My mom heard me and of course wanted to know what I was reading (she just saw I was on my iPad) and as soon as I said, "Remember the girl from Texas who disappeared a couple Christmases ago?" she knew who I meant. :cry: so sad.

It was really a kick in the teeth, I had also showed my mother this case, I was here visiting when it happened and I was showing my mom WS's! Kinda odd how this poor baby's body would be found at this time! RIP Pretty Girl!

The word "suspect" was not used in ANY of the earlier reports tonight. It was not used until the 10:00 pm news and 2 channels said it. Just reporting what the media is saying.

I read that Shaun failed a polygraph early in the investigation. Was Billie ever polygraphed? Did she pass?

A man walking along the bed of Lake JB Thomas came across skeletal remains lying in the open last month. According to locals, the area might have been underwater at the time HD went missing. (Locals, is that correct?)

One article said the remains were scattered around. It also mentioned the reservoir was low, but it didn't have anything to do with the body. It doesn't sound like she was buried, but then if water rises there who knows.

Reflecting back, Billie told NewsWest 9 how strangely Shawn acted those first few days after the disappearance. She said she found it suspicious that her ex-boyfriend couldn't produce his work uniform when law enforcement requested them.

"The fact that he lied and said they were at work and we already know though video and though his boss that he didn't leave them at work. So, why are they hidden?" Billie said.
