Their cameras at the Hancock nest are awesome I will give them credit for that. I do like seeing the wide angle shots as well.

Is there just one eaglet in the Hancock nest?

Hi Adrienne, There is one egg and one baby eaglett. I love the way the parents made the center of the nest so soft, at least it looks softer and more organized than the Decorah nest. Maybe this daddy is just a better builder. :rocker:

As far as I know, yes. One eaglet born yesterday & one egg. I've been watching off & on today & have yet to see the one eaglet fed.

I have a question about the fish. It seems they only eat the gill area of the fish and wonder what they do with the remaining part. Do they pitch it over the side of the nest?

Last night the camera caught a good shot of the fish. He had a look on his face like Acwkkkkk. Poor little fishy but know it is all a part of the cycle of life.

These eagletts are growing so fast and now remind me of the teen agers another poster mentioned ~ flopped out :floorlaugh:

I saw the Papa feeding the little baby late this morning. He was very patient and held his beak sideways so the baby could pick at the food in his beak. Neato. I can't get the Hancock eagles livestream to load.

Hi Scandi - there couldn't be a builder in the whole eagle world better than our dad though. He's awesome with his work!!!! LOL!

I wish they'd clean the nest up right now though and get that yucky looking thing from right in front of the camera. It's gagging me!

I read somewhere that they use extra soft nesting material, piled high, for the eggs Helps ease pressure when incubating and creates insulation underneath the egg for warmth. I'm sure the Decorah Royal's did the same.

Is that a rat? It looks like a long tail.

Lots of rowdy play today!

I dunno but it's the nastiest looking thing I've seen in the nest this whole time...LOL!

I can't load the Hancock feed either but then again I feel disloyal to our family when I watch it.

I think it is a fish with the tail lying away from the camera. It looks like they eat down to the anus and then don't eat the meat back beyond that. I think they like the inards and that is about where they stop, at that hole. I wonder if they eat any fish or are picky?

It looks as if Mom is pulling fur off it. UGH!

According to the weather forecast, there is like a 70% chance of rain tonight and 80% chance tomorrow. I guess this is why we've seen all the work on the nest today.

Yes, I even saw Mom working on it today. And then the littlest eaglett was helping too. It was so adorable. LOL That was when Dad was at the back of the nest feeding his face ;}

It's good to see they're enjoying some good weather tonight. It looks like a mound of feathers and down. Is this what they call spread eagle?
