Defense doesn't want GA & CA in the courtroom....why?

Sorry, I was just jumping off of what you posted. lol Where I sometimes land, heaven only knows.

Yes, I do think JA was very generous but did you get the impression that the A's want to be on the defense's side? We know the courtroom is laid out different up there and so will defense since they want a side table.

Wasn't it also interesting what Amil said about security moving in on either side of the A's when they were discussing the defense's request to keep them out. Were they expecting trouble or an outburst from the A's that would have them removed quickly?

I looked for the seating chart but I was unable to find it. Also funny how they feel they had "designated seats" when the majority of the people do not want to sit on defense's side but sit behind SA. jmo

This was just Lippman talking so I don't know if the Anthony's wanted to have designated seats behind the DT at the TRIAL - they may not be feeling quite as positive about the DT after that last hearing. LOL

I certainly felt they wanted to be sitting behind the Defense during the hearings but for some reason it never occurred to me they were actually "designated" seats they were sitting in at all - I thought they just swanned in and sat wherever they wanted - that it was their choice.

Heaven knows by now they SHOULD want to sit behind the SA but do I think they want to even at this point? No I don't - even to the point of not taking the SA up on their offer and having to battle for seats every day.

Was I surprised to see guards move in closer to the Anthony's during the last hearing? No, absolutely not - I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner and hope they continue to stay close to them every day of the trial. I think the Anthony's have been given far too much leeway to protest, grimace or whatever during these hearings. I wanted them sequestered throughout the whole trial because I want the emphasis of it to be about the mother who killed her beautiful two and a half year old daughter, Caylee Marie. This trial is not about George Anthony and it is not about Cindy Anthony.

I don't care where they sit as long as they maintain the dignity of the court. If not - remove them immediately and for the duration of the trial.

If you mean Amil , she was there but I haven't seen her report on here- it is on another site though.

Amil was there and she did a report in either the Hearing thread or the Sidebar thread or both from yesterday.

I do not see either one of them sitting through the whole trial without a peep. If they do then they deserve to stay. I just do not think it is possible. jmo

Anyone know where I can find the seating chart for court???

That is exactly what I think. Whenever the state tries to say that things like the duct tape and the baby blanket are tied to Casey, the DT is going to say that George also had access to those things. And when they talk about the smell in the trunk, they are going to say that George also had keys to that car. And she had told Tony that she called her dad and asked him to pick up the car at Amscott. When they try and say that the dump site was a childhood burial plot for her dead pets, the DT is going to remind the jury that George also knew about that burial site.
How will the Anthony's react when they hear these insinuations?

Seriously? :waitasec: ICA told Tony she asked her dad to pick up the car at Amscot? I don't remember that at all...:banghead:

IIRC she told Tony that in a phone call he made to her from NYC. He asked her if she had a chance to go and get her car yet, and she said yes, her dad took care of it. I will go and try to link it. It was in his depo ,I believe.

ETA:
A." she said she would have someone else take care of it, I believe her Dad."

Q= Now I understand you had a conversation with her about the car when you went to NY, about her father picking up the car. Is that what she informed you?
A. I believe so, yes.
Q=did she say her dad got the car towed and her dad had to pick it up out of a tow yard or did she say her dad picked it up from the Amscot?
A. I'm not sure.

Baez's 'aha' moment may be when he tells the jury that Casey is going to take the stand and finally tell us what happened after she left home that day, leaving Caylee in her father's care.

Yup, yup, and yup!

The whole idea to frame George is faulty, imo. He doesn't have a motive to kill Caylee, and if it were an accident, he'd simply call 911-- he's not an idiot. I can see the DT throwing in some doubt regarding GA, but I can't see the jury getting past KC's behaviors. I also believe George and Cindy are in the know regarding the DT's strategy, yet I don't think George will lie.

It's going to be quite a show. jmo

Yes, she told Tony her dad was going to take care of the car.

I'll have to find the depo too!

LOL - I remember that katydid23 - but that's a bit of a different slant when she answers isn't it - her dad took care of it? So she doesn't say SHE called him, it is Tony asking that. What I mean is - ICA didn't confirm that statement by saying what most people would say - which is something along the lines of - yes, I spoke to my Dad and he picked it up a couple of days ago, took it to the garage so they can fix such and such so I can be driving it again in a couple of days. Or I called my Dad, he picked it up and parked it at their house for me.

This is not me "calling you out" but pointing out that Baez may not be able to use that one if the SA is on point - which we know they will be.

Thanks, I found one, too. Only 35 seats downstairs and 13 upstairs for general public. Curious why they need 6 seats?

I am not sure that they wanted 6 seats though, I thought CA had originally said 4 and then someone said the SA offered 6, but later someone said the SA only offered 2 and the A's wanted 3 - for GA, CA and 1 lawyer. :waitasec:

Who? The SA? Visiting lawyers? Staff in Training? Family of the SA?????
Dunno... Three lawyers on the team - so two seats each?

Here is the link for the seating chart. No special designated seating for GA and CA.

http://www.cfnews13.com/article/new...releases-seating-chart-for-Casey-Anthony-case

If it is true they turned down the kind offer of the SA to use some of their reserved seating, then it looks like they may be lining up with the general public.

Thanks for the link-- will KC be able to even see the witness? That's an awkward, perhaps even cowardly, place for the accused, imo.

Hey, first post! Welcome! :greetings:

Oh LORD - THIS HAS GONE SIDEWAYS!!! Lippman said the SA has 6 seats reserved for them - the SA.

The SA didn't offer the Anthony's six seats, the Anthony's didn't ask for six seats. The SA offered the Anthony's one seat each.

That's all!:banghead:

Thank you Katydid23 - no worries - and yes, I remember that conversation/depo - I just didn't remember it as something the Defense could use. I do appreciate the additional info you've given me - thank you!

Mark Lippman, the A's lawyer, yesterday said in the interview taped yesterday outside the courthouse that the prosecution has six seats reserved for them in the courtroom and JA offered them to the A's if they are not given designated seats.

Mr. Lippman also said in this same interview that the A's have been sitting in their "designated seats" throughout the hearings.

That last bit of information shocked me.

Okay, I got it now. I thought "them" were the A's. When you read the whole sentence again it makes more sense.

If I had been clearer about the SA offering them "seats" it would have helped. :floorlaugh:

LOL, that's okay. I'm tired from driving most of the day so comprehension level has gone down the tubes. It's almost as if there is a full moon wobble out there though with all the things going on.

I think the defense might be able ti use it to muddy the waters. They could say that George was told where the car was, and he was the one who put the body in the trunk as a way to frame Casey.
