Defense hires new media rep - "Todd Black" out

  • #21
Will this affect your book on this case?

Probably not. I did not expect to speak with Jose anyway. And I imagined if Casey did speak to me, it would be in opposition to her attorney's advice. At some point, I'll probably have to listen to her chew me out. And be embarrassed when she calls the senior editor and rages at him.
But, maybe, she learned from the Nowak book that we are simply not paying any attention to her. LOL

Diane, I remember her on Nancy Grace talking about Lisa Nowack case, she was full of herself, of course she came on there with an attitude and Nancy quickly smacked her around and let her now she wasn't putting up with the BS.

I wonder if she will go on Nancy's show again?

She makes her living by distorting facts, and using PR spin to fool the public into trying to get scum bag criminals like Casey off the hook.

Not a very nice woman.
When I was much younger, I thought PR was a cool profession. As I've gotten older, it seems more and more like an acting job where lies are legion. Not my cup of tea.

What, just because she was PR for Nowak she thought she owned her and the rights to her story?

She get a big, fat whatever from me.

Why do they even need a PR for anyway? A waste of time if you ask me. Wonder who is paying her bill, the ever elusive "family from CT"?

ETA: NOW WHERE IS THAT FLIPPING DOC DUMP!!??!!

That's what I'd like to know.

Some of us use PR for good instead of evil :)

There's really no need to have a media representative in the first place.

Capri, I really think they need help! LOL! AS Baez said, KC is really disliked by the general public for many reasons. And Baze's past performances in front of the media have been less than stellar.

This whole case is a Hollywood production...lights, camera, and action. Much as I hate to admit it, getting competent help to present an 'innocent, misunderstood, flayed by the cold cruel world' image is a good defense move.

I think it is telling when the defense team needs a PR person to straighten out messes left in the wake of their former PR person. Normally, the PR person serves the client. In this case, the attorney is the one who needs the PR. ;)

She sounds exactly like someone I would expect him to hire...crass and lacking professionalism (even if she is doing it behind the scenes). At least we know her real name. LOL

I agree with you, it is such a dog and pony show with the media. I cannot stand to watch any of the press secretaries for the white house under any President, I just want to scream ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION YOU STUPID IDIOT OR SAY NO COMMENT!!! LOL

Maybe if she didn't want to be disliked in the media she should have stayed out of the news by not murdering her daughter, chloroforming her, putting duct tape around her face, and throwing her in the woods like trash. Just a thought?

I agree but you can bet the new PR person is not gonna say THAT! :floorlaugh:

Hiring a legitimate and professional PR person is long overdue for this defense team. It also long overdue for someone other than Baez to represent the accused.

Pardon me while I squeeze out a tear.

Other than the almost absolute surety that keeping Baez will get Casey an eventual retrial, I am happy to see her inadequately represented.

LOL! Seriously Searching, I think you should have just carried on with your original thought! (Tho I guess that wouldn't be proper PR)

I'm going to sound like a drama-lover, but I just can't wait to see this PR person go on Nancy Grace. Last time during Nowack her and Nancy got into it, and that was over an attempted murder/assault. Now it is about a murdered child...

I don't see how the PR agent can avoid being on NG, because Nancy's show covers this more than any other show, and it is the THE show people go to for info on this case...

Well I have totally changed my mind now...I think Jose is right. She;s innocent and this new pr company will finally help us understand this whole thing.

Bwahahaha!

I'm glad to see the bumbling stop. The scattershot approach was embarrassing and chaotic. I'd rather have a seasoned pro fat on glibness whom I can ignore much more easily because I find that they all sound alike. It's like commercials on TV- I just tune them out. Orderly banality is so much more soothing.

i still dont understand why he needs a PR person. he does all of his own interviews and certainly isnt shy about press conferences...

seems like a waste...HUGE waste of money that could be spent...oh...i dunno...somewhere else.

LOL,

I would love to have this PR agent on my radio program, the first question would be: Is Zenaida Gonzalez the killer?

I just wonder how she can "spin" this case, it is impossible when you have a guilty sack-o-crap client like CASEY ANTHONY.

She isn't very boring. She goes on TV and fights with people who think her clients are guilty. She was on Nancy Grace during Nowach and she was full of herself, as my grandmother would say: she was "too big for her britches."

Here is a transcript of her on NG: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0708/24/ng.01.html

I know Marti. She yelled at me when she found at I was writing a book about Lisa Nowak. Then she called my publisher, St. Martin's Press and gave them grief, too.

I was really surprised because I actually jumped through her little hoops and contacted her about the Nowak book rather than trying weasel my way around her. She returns my professional courtesy with a rant. Not very PR-ish if you ask me.

You are correct. In public she is impeccably professional. I was thoroughly amazed that she didn't behave that way one-on-one.

Welcome to WS, Diane Fanning! I think it is telling when the defense team needs a PR person to straighten out messes left in the wake of their former PR person. Normally, the PR person serves the client. In this case, the attorney is the one who needs the PR. ;)

(All of the above bolded by me) Welcome to WebSleuths, Diane! Hi SS! Something to think about: It has been alledged that KC had over a thousand pics, several showing her in very compromising positions, on her computer. These are not the same pictures that have already been released to the public. I wonder if those pics were thought to have been deleted but LE found them on the hard drive. I definitely believe this to be true, and do not in any way think, that these photos (as well as videos) do not exist. I'm wondering if that could have something to do with why a new PR person was hired. They could kill two birds with one stone by getting rid of TB (since he's being viewed in a negative manner in the public's eye) and hiring a supposedly savvy PR person with Marti...right before there's supposed to be another huge doc dump. I'm not certain when these alledged photos will be released to the public. As a matter of fact, I don't see them releasing them anytime soon b/c of the nature they could consist of. It is my belief that LE won't be able to make them public knowledge until certain things are hidden, b/c of X ratings issues and such. I think if there's going to be nude or mature rated pics released, they'd have to have an "18 of older" disclaimer...not sure. Do you all think this could have something to do with the hiring of Marti?
