That will be interesting.

Yeah, and they also have said that we will be told the result of his mental health examination when the trial starts.
I did get a strange thought about that, because they said in the radio that they will make the decision about if and how to convict him and for what in late december, and my thought was suddenly - because of the "if" - that maybe he is totally crazy so he has to be locked up alone because of his mental state and the murder is secondary....
I know thats not realistic, but it just hit my mind. Somehow I find it hard to believe that they dont have a case at all.

I had the same thought, but then, he lied and lied and lied and did all he could to cover his evil deed.
That shows that he knew what he was doing and was not mad, like, raving mad.

That said, I know more about what it takes in the USA to be declared legally insane and unfit for trial or prison than I know about it in the country I live in!

I was looking on Google to see if there were any cases where the murder was locked up without any sentence just because of mental illness, and I cant find anything on that.
But something I noticed was that there are many murderes that arent mentally ill even though they have comitted horrible murders.
For example Peter Lundin, who killed his ex-girlfriend and her 2 little boys and then dismembered them and threw them in the garbage-can,
How come that you arent menatally ill when you do a thing like that? I dont understand at all.

Maybe we will see that they have determined that PM is "not mentally ill" even so that he has done this terrible crime. Its really scary to think that people like him walk around among us.

It is very scary indeed - especially when you have actually interacted with him!

I talked to people yesterday who work in the area (as I also used to do)- and who have been on that submarine.
Everyone is quite affected by the whole thing.

I don't find it so difficult to understand even a murderer as twisted as PM.

For example, I (well fed, raised on movies like Bambi, etc) see a deer and I think "what a beautiful creature", I try hard not to hit it when driving and am very distressed when I see one injured.

Another person (hungry, or accustomed since childhood to hunt for fun, etc) would shoot the deer. They would easily, with satisfaction, skin and cut it up and perhaps display it's stuffed head as a trophy on their wall. Such a person just doesn't see a deer the same way I do.

Sexual predators see any woman they are sexually attracted to as prey, their goal is to hunt her, capture her, take away her life and freedom, consume her for their own satisfaction. He feels it's his right to do this, just as a hunter feels it's his right to kill a deer.

Another example is in war. If you label someone as the enemy, then you can easily commit atrocities you would never do to a friend. All that is different is your attitude towards the other person.

The end of a dream

Raket-Madsens Space Laboratory on Refshale Island is now emptied of content and the lease has stopped.

The translation is terrible....but there are pictures.

Strangely, I feel saddened by this. I thought this project was interesting - and he was the instigator of the whole thing. It was his idea and vision.

However, it lives on in Copenhagen Suborbitals.

What a damaged person he is.

PETER MADSEN FORMALLY CHARGED WITH SUBMARINE MURDER OF KIM WALL; FACES LIFE SENTENCE

Guardian
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jan/16/peter-madsen-charged-with-submarine-of-kim-wall

The suspected killer of the Swedish journalist Kim Wall has been formally charged with her murder, a Danish public prosecutor has said.

Jakob Buch-Jepsen said Peter Madsen, 46, either cut Wall’s throat or strangled her after she boarded his self-built submarine for an interview in August last year.

The engineer and inventor was charged with murder and indecent handling of a corpse, the prosecutor said. Wall’s headless and dismembered torso was found floating off Copenhagen 10 days after she was reported missing while her head, legs and clothes were discovered in bags at sea in October.

In a case that Buch-Jepsen described as “very unusual and extremely gross”, the inventor has also been charged with sexual assault, without intercourse, of a particularly dangerous nature. He faces a life sentence, police said.

Unfortunately in Denmark life sentence does not mean for life. A life sentence allows for probation after 12 years. After that, you can apply once a year for probation. In this case it would be nice to have the same system as in USA where you can get several sentences and where it adds up so that the murder can get 200 years in jail. Yet on average, life-time prisoners stay in jail 14 to 16 years, and both shorter and longer prison periods occur in Denmark's life-long sentences.
Its interesting that they now know that he strangled her or cut her throat, because that should exclude the possibility for an accident as he has described it in several versions.
A danish article also mention that the prosecution also will accuse him for 'sexual relations other than intercourse, of a particularly dangerous nature'.
https://translate.google.com/transl...id-saa-hurtigt-kan-han-vaere-ude-igen/6999472
The article also says that the prosecution will secondary try for custody in a mental institution for prisoners, where they usually never get out, because the prisoners is usually insane.

Todays press-conference from the Police informs us that they think the murder was planned, but they wont tell why they think so.

PM's mental health check shows that he is not insane and means that he is able to serve time in jail. Thats odd because they also have this secondary sentence (custody with the insane prisoners in an instution indefinitely) they want to pursue if the life-sentence wont work in court.

They want to destroy his submarine.

The Police also think that PM will be a danger for other people, so they want him to stay locked up for the rest of his life, one way or another.

They wont say anything about a motive.

They have a lot of technical evidens, but they wont tell about it now.

The cuts to KW's genitals is the reason for the charge of sexual relations other than intercourse, of a particularly dangerous nature.

Yes it is.

What about Peter Lundin and this "Smiley" guy?
They are in prison for life - they will not be let out.
I don´t think any of them have an insanity evaluation - but they have been found too dangerous to be let out.

Have to look it up.

Here's an article with the date of trial:

Danish inventor Peter Madsen charged with Kim Wall murder
http://edition.cnn.com/2018/01/16/e...arged-with-murdering-kim-wall-intl/index.html

(CNN) — A Danish inventor, Peter Madsen, has been charged with murdering the Swedish journalist Kim Wall on his submarine, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

Madsen has been charged with premeditated murder in addition to dismemberment and "sexual relations other than intercourse of a particularly dangerous nature."
[.....]
Madsen, who is scheduled to go on trial on March 8, could face a sentence ranging from five years to life if found guilty. Prosecutors said they were seeking a life sentence.
