- How did he respond that it was canceled, asks the prosecutor.
"I think Peter probably had a feeling that it would not take long before
the rocket was not ready at all," said the witness.
"But was there any reaction?" Asks the prosecutor
"Invariably you could sense something," said the witness.

I KNEW IT!!! I honestly think that is why Kim Wall was killed!

- I felt the energy was gone. It was as if it could not matter, says the wind.

"We all had the feeling that Peter had given up," the witness said.

- So the way he sat in the chair in front of the television team (the Australian television team who visited Peter Madsen on August 10 last year.) Was it something to do with him haven given up? "Asks the prosecutor.
"That's the one with the chair, a bit more like he was burned as if he had been working all night," the witness said.
"The other feeling, this abandoned, it was one there were a few days before," said the witness.

The prosecutor now asks whether the witness knows about the economy in the laboratory.
"Nothing but the amount of money", says the witness, who also tells the trainees themselves to have their pockets to pay for materials and such.

The prosecutor is now asking for the 'super submarine' that Peter Madsen had been offered to build for a Spanish millionaire in the period up to 10 August last year.
"So he had said something because he had trouble keeping a secret," the witness said.
"But it seemed very doubtful, and Peter's business agent had also advised him not to follow that order," said the witness.

The prosecutor asks about the witness, known Peter Madsen well. To that, the witness answers that he will think, but that they were slipping a little apart at last.
"The last day he was in a way that I had never seen him before. The motivation was gone, the witness said.

"But I think he might have been exhausted after working hard, but I did not see him doing that, so I thought it might be emotional," the witness said.

The judge now asks the witness to answer a little more concrete on all questions because the court has time issues.

- Did you notice if Peter Madsen took something from the workshop to his submarine?
- No.
- Could he have done it without you noticing it?
"Yes, absolutely," said the witness.

- Does Peter Madsen tell you that he is going to sail that night with the submarine?
"So he said he should go for a weekend trip, but he had not said anything about the trip with Kim," said the witness.

- Are you aware that Peter Madsen took a fist hood with an orange saw from the workshop?
"No," said the witness.
"Was there usually a saw in the workshop?" Asks the prosecutor.
- Yes, it was there. I also have pictures of it, says the witness.

The witness tells that the saw after August 10 was no longer in the workshop

- Would such a saw have a purpose on the submarine?
- So for me personally, it would not, says the witness.

- Did Peter Madsen have told him to build shelves in the submarine?
"No, I've never heard of that," said the witness
- Would there be room for it, asks the prosecutor
"No, that would not make sense," said the witness.

Now the prosecutor shows pictures from the submarine's bathroom. Here is a green water hose.
"Do you know if it was usually there?" Asks the prosecutor.
- In the workshop there are such rolls with these water hoses. We used them to dilute rocket fuel with., Says the witness.
- Have you ever seen it in the submarine?
"No, at least not with such a nozzle head," said the witness.
"But would you like to take a water hose when you sailed with the submarine.
"I can not see that," said the witness.

The prosecutor now shows the short metal pipes that have been found in connection with the case.
"Have you ever seen them in the submarine?" Asks the prosecutor
"Never, says the witness, explaining that they used the pipes to build a rocket platform.
And what about these brakes, the prosecutor asks.
"No," said the witness.

The prosecutor now also displays pictures of the straps attached to the submarine. He asks if the witness has seen them be excited in the submarine, as they are in the picture - in the middle of the submarine.
- No I have not. I have never seen them be attached there, says the witness.

- Have you used Peter Madsen's computer, ask the prosecutor.
- Yes, once in my exam, the witness says

- Have you helped once the computer should be shut down and given to a friend, the prosecutor asks.
- Yes it's true.
- What did you do with that?
- Only reboot it. There was some virus on it, says the witness

"Did Peter Madsen say something about you not having to look at the content?" Asks the prosecutor.
"He did not give me permission, but joked that" if I just knew what lay on it, "the witness says.
"I understood that there was some 🤬🤬🤬🤬 movies, including him," the witness said.

- Did he say something that there were some google searches on it too, asks the prosecutor.
"If he mentioned it, I will not remember it at all," said the witness.

- As far as I know, it was Peter's computer, but he had bought a new one, says the witness about the background for the old computer to be passed on to a friend.
"Did you have access to it?" Asks the prosecutor
"I may have helped him once in a while, but I did not have access," said the witness.

The prosecutor asks whether Peter Madsen had an interest in the 'dark net'.
- Indirect yes.
- How?, Asks the prosecutor
"So I got an impression that he would find out if I had tried it and if I had an attitude to it," the witness said.

The prosecutor now asks whether the witness has had access to Peter Madsen's new computer.
The wind responds, that's how it happened when they all watched the computer on rocket launches.

"Has Peter Madsen once taken a screwdriver and pretended he would hurt one with it?" Asks the prosecutor.
"Thus, one had the feeling that he had a particular interest in openings in the human body," the witness said.
- You must just elaborate.
"So in connection with his wife, he has sometimes taken a screwdriver to her mouth and nose. But I perceived it as childish, says the witness.

!!!

Did Peter Madsen spend much time on the internet? "Asks the prosecutor.
- So when I started there was not a wifi hotspot for interns, but at some point last year, I saw him sitting with his computer and watching something online in the evening. I did not see exactly what it was for the screen was covered a bit, says the witness.

The prosecutor is now reading the police's question of the witness. Here it is stated that the witness explains that 'Peter Madsen at one point has said that the witness should not look at the contents of the computer. He said that 🤬🤬🤬🤬 movies were downloaded and that there was also 🤬🤬🤬🤬 movies where Peter Madsen himself appeared.
"It was not a legitimate ban, it was more said in joke," the witness said.

- Peter Madsen has had a number of mistresses, what is your opinion that his relationship with women asks the prosecutor.
"So you can say that the way he has never been able to conquer a woman," said the witness

- Have you been traveling with him, where he has been more interested in sex clubs than the actual purpose of the trip.
"So I've been with him in Berlin, and I can imagine that he was more interested in the sex clubs," said the witness, explaining that they were in Berlin to receive a prize.

  • #1,029
- Did you tell the police that Peter Madsen 'has a thing for dirty things', asks the prosecutor.
- Yes, I can come up with an example. Eg. that German women are very correct during the day, like nice secretaries, and then in the evening when they meet up with such a sex club they are the worst 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, says the witness.
Now the referee asks if it is a quote from Peter Madsen.
"I can not remember the exact words, but it was tough words," the witness said.

"Do you notice if anything else was missing at the workshop August 10 last year?" Asks the prosecutor.
- Yes, because I have made food in the workshop. And there was a large kitchen knife, which I also searched for, says the witness.
"Do you know if Peter went with a hobby knife, asks the prosecutor.
"He did," said the witness.

Peter Madsen sits calmly and listens while the witness explains. He has gathered his hands in front of him and looks alternately from the witness to the prosecutor.

Now it has become time for defense questions to the witness.
- Is it correct that you started with Peter Madsen as a student in 2016?
- Yes, that's correct, the witness says.

"And is it correct that you looked at Peter Madsen's old computer, to be passed on in 2016, asks the lawyer
- Yes, the witness says.
- So, it is understood that when you say you have not seen others using the computer, you respond to a very short period of time because you have just begun to come to the laboratory at that time, the lawyer asks.
"So I do not quite understand who else should have access to the computer, because everyone had their own," said the witness.

  • #1,031
- But my question is whether you really know anything about whether anyone else has used that computer, says the lawyer.
"I must say that at least I have not seen others accessing that computer," said the witness.
- Used or access, says the lawyer.
- I have not seen anyone using it, says the witness

"When you start in 2016, how are working hours?", Asks the lawyer.
"All the time," said the witness.
"Has it been until 2017 or how was it in the summer of 2017," the lawyer asks.
"No, I was not there all the time," said the witness.

- Is it correct that it was your own project you were working on in the summer of 2017, asks the lawyer.
- Yes. Together with a mate.
"And could you work with it elsewhere more than just Peter Madsen's workshop," the witness asks.
"No, we did it there," the witness said.

The lawyer now asks if it is not true that the witness's comrade was affiliated with Copenhagen Suborbitals, CS, which is the rival rocket club of Peter Madsen Rumlaboratorium. The two clubs were in conflict in the summer of 2017.
Witness confirms.
"How was the atmosphere in CS against Peter Madsen?", Asks the lawyer.
"It was negative," said the witness.

The lawyer now asks how often the witness worked on the submarine Nautilus.
- It was as needed. If something was broken or something, the witness says.

The witness estimates that maybe once a week he worked in the submarine.

The witness tells that he lived in Nautilus in 2016, but in 2017 he was not often in the submarine.
- I can not say the exact number, sometimes it was spontaneous.
- But how many times were you in the submarine in August. Were you there in August, ask the lawyer?
"I can not remember that anymore," said the witness.

The lawyer says she asks because the witness today has seen pictures of the submarine and, among other things, has said that it was not normal that there were straps or a garden hose.
"But I assume if the objects have a purpose in the submarine.
"But that was not what was asked. It was instead if the witness had seen the objects in the submarine, the lawyer said.

The lawyer believes there is an important distinction and asks if the witness can remember when he was in the submarine in 2017.
- Was it for longer or an overnight stay or?
"I do not think I've stayed in it," said the witness.
Have you been out sailing?
- Yes, but not as often as other interns, the witness says.
- Four, five ten times? "Asks the lawyer.
- Maybe four, the witness answers.

  • #1,033
"Did Peter Madsen sometimes sail alone with the submarine?", Asks the lawyer.
"Normally, it was with other interns if something should be presented. But I do not know if Peter Madsen has sailed the submarine alone, says the witness.

Now the lawyer shows a number of pictures for the witness.
"I could understand when the prosecutor asked you that you could not recognize the straps in the picture," said the lawyer, who shows pictures of the submarine.
"No, I have never seen that," said the witness.

"When you were in the submarine, you saw those cabinets in the submarine, the lawyer asks and points to some cabinets under the benches in the submarine fair.
- Yes, sometimes, says the witness.
- Have you noticed the posts that are between the closets, asks the lawyer
"There is nothing striking about them," said the witness

"I'm asking because Peter Madsen has said that the straps have fallen from the ceiling when the submarine was under water," said the lawyer.
"Well, maybe they should have fallen out in connection with other trips," the witness said.

(Witness is confused here.)

"Should I understand that you were working on this side of the submarine when you were making electricity in the submarine," says the lawyer, pointing to the right side of the picture.
- Yes, the witness says.

"The prosecutor was also inquiring and asking you if you had seen videos with Peter Madsen," said the lawyer.
- Yes, but only something that concerns. rocket technology, the witness answers
"Have you ever seen throats cuts and so?" Asks the lawyer.
- Yes, there is something called Live Leak, and I have seen some videos from Islamic State, says the witness.

The witness tells that Peter Madsen once in a case told him about a website called 'Rotten'
- And what was your conclusion from looking at that website?
- So did not quite understand what he was getting at with it, says the witness.
- Acted that he should be helped to get into the page, asks the lawyer.
- No, not specific. He asked if I knew it and he had previously mentioned it in connection with our conversation about 'dark net', the witness said. (Dark Net is a term for an underworld on the net, where you need special browsers to access the pages and where the content may be illegal red.)

While the witness answers the lawyer's questions, Peter Madsen follows from his place next to the defender. He sits easily overlooked and looks from his lawyer to the witness.
The defender now asks if the witness always knew what to do on the submarine.
- No, the witness answers.

- Would you necessarily have any knowledge that you would make a new water system on the submarine with the water hose found in it, asks the lawyer.
"No, not unconditional," said the witness.
"Good," says the lawyer, who has a final question.

"In connection with August 10, you had an eye on Peter Madsen," she asks the witness.
"No, not all the time, because I would do different things myself," said the witness.
Thus, the defence's questioning of the witness is completed.

Prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen has a supplementary question. He again has a picture inside the submarine of the straps that are found.
- If the straps should have been seated in between these boxes (cupboards, red.), It is possible for the straps in the submarine to slide here. So you have not seen these straps between the closets? "Asks the prosecutor.
"It's not something I've noticed where I've been in the submarine," the witness said.
- Thanks, the prosecutor says.

Thus the witness is finished with his explanation for the court.

I don´t know what you got out of Betina Hald´s line of questioning, but to me it sounded like she was preparing the judges for testimonies from former lovers and co-workers.
Trying to paint them as sexually adventurous - much, MUCH more than PM (yeah, right!) + smearing the snuff videos off on one of his lovers and on his former associates in Copenhagen Suborbitals (my friend included).

I don´t think she was successful. The picture I am left with of PM is that he was and is even more deranged than I thought leading up to the murders.

I would like to hear more about this trip to Spain. I hope the prosecutor will ask about that tomorrow.
I think she was trying to make him seem normal by discussing shopping and cleaning and the appointment to go out in the sub the following day. The Barcelona "contract" was interesting to hear about but that is a very expensive submarine at $22 million dollars. So that was true that he went to Barcelona.
I don't believe what he says about the videos. Experts will be able to tell when they were last viewed so blaming others for the videos will be disproved IMO.

TY all for the translating and transcribing.

Peter Madsen knew his rocket project was down the drain compared to his original project from which he was ousted and now run by others.
The intern witnessing today said the rocket was in no way ready to be tested.

You´d think he could have benefitted from the international coverage in the magazine, Wired, which an ALIVE Kim Wall would have provided.

But no. He had given up and wanted a way out to "save face".

That paired with his sick, sick fantasies.

Wow, you have been busy, SATA. Thank you for your hard work.

I have only looked lightly at the forensic testimony so far, but Ekstra Bladet acted strange today, so maybe too many were in to read. I managed to read about it on the BT blog too, so I got the picture of that.

I am worried that the forensic had too much of "we cant be sure" and "Its uncertain". It seems impossible to get a conclusion out of her on any of it.
It would be horrible if PM is let out when the trial is over.

Thank you, L_E.

I came in a little over noon, and they had a terrible reporter - unfortunately she was there during the testimony of Kim Wall´s boyfriend.
She missed a lot, and therefore the live stream did not quite make sense.
After his testimony they switched reporters, and the new one was really good.

You are so right, they cannot determine a cause of death, so of course the defence will take that and run with it.
Afwul. Just awful if he only gets a light sentence.

I can see him moving to some other country and do a lot more harm. Can´t see he will have a future in Denmark.

Here's where the defense asked him about his projects. It appears he completely sidestepped the issue of his rocket plans (the syntax is hard to follow), then goes off onto this implausible story about an investor in Barcelona wanting a submarine.

We also have to reverse [review?] the economic situation. Were there any projects during launch last August?
- Yes, it was there. It was never a profit, because every time there was money, we used it on the second, says Peter Madsen. [?]

"But did any projects go on?" Asks the lawyer. "I had a Norwegian project, and there was a very very mysterious project from Spain," says Peter Madsen. Peter Madsen now tells of a trip to Barcelona, where he meets a rich man who wants him to build a kind of 'super nautilus'. "He is staying in a very nice hotel, and I explain how expensive it will be," says Peter Madsen, who says that the man brought two security guards. "It's a was a pretty exciting project. It was a $ 22 million project, he says. So you were not broke, asks Betina Hald Engmark? - Not at all. We always found a solution Then there were some who needed a machine that could make smoke rings or something else, says Peter Madsen.
He explains that he made accounts once a week, but that was not particularly careful.

This is a guy who's famous, who always was famous as 'Rocket' Madsen, building a rocket, launching himself into space. Not 'Submarine' Madsen, or 'Smoke Rings' Madsen.

Here's another film crew (he got burned by a film crew documenting the project with Sub-Orbitals, it made him look bad), presumably planning to film the launch/progress of his rocket. Was he going to admit he was a failure, he hadn't built it, would never build the rocket that his whole life and fame had been based on?

I hope the prosecution questions him about this...could provoke a very interesting reaction.
