I think he's been there since Day One, because he has no way of putting his client on the stand to refute the testimony of others.

No he cannot put her on the stand.

The only question from the jury, during deliberations, would be as to whether or not they can come back with a verdict that is worse than guilty...such as "incredibly guilty."

I've heard that argument against capital punishment before....

the anti- CP idea is pretty popular among young people today many of whom seem to be taking all their ideology from the "entertainment" industry.....

This is only my second post, but this case continues to disturb me more and more everyday. As the father of a 2-year old, it is beyond comprehension that someone could be as selfish as Casey, especially when it comes to your baby.

As to the topic at hand...I really can't wait for them to arrest and charge Casey in this manner. But I still feel hollow about the whole thing, because I really want Caylee to be given a proper resting place.

I feel the same way. Even with charges and a conviction without a body, there is still an empty space. There really is no win to any of it. I hate the twinge of excitement I felt when I read this thread.

Yes. As I posted previously it's been done hundreds of time. They rely on circumstantial and direct evidence to prove the death. They also are not required to prove a motive. They are required, however, to prove her state of mind, ie premeditated vs. in the heat of passion vs. gross negligence etc. My guess is they will do this based on computer forensics and possibly evidence coming from the trunk.

I really don't see what else the police would be waiting for, finding the body is unlikely, and will probably not yield cause of death. It's really Casey's lies and actions before and after Caylee's disappearance that provide the case for murder.

Arrest her soon.

If they charged her today, what do they charge her with? Manslaughter or Murder one? The video did state that LE is close to determining the dates of the choloform searches. Finding more info is the difference between being able to prove premed vs. accident.

it's a 2.26 minute video, and the searching for chloroform info begins at 1:33. The sentence that says that they are close to determining the exact date of the searches that took place before Caylee's disappearance is at 1:42.
Sounds like they know the searches took place BEFORE she went missing, but in order to make their case that much more airtight, they are going to show exact dates. Good job, OCSO!

The last batch was released to him on Monday supposedly and the public did not get them until what...Tuesday or Wednesday? They may have released them to his office and he never looked.

True but the evidence of chloroform was in Casey's trunk along with evidence of a decomposing Caylee.
