This patron went in to buy a gun and he saw Holmes and remarked on CNN about how out of place he seemed in the gun shop, with his hair and earrings too. He said his eyes were very wide and looked like silver dollars. I'll try to find a video link.

Holmes doesn't have any earrings.

I read somewhere (and I can't find the link) that he had roommates? Were they on summer vacation? Or is this false?

I read this too but then I didn't see anything else about it. Could be a reporting error.

IMO, That is a lawyer lying! It was widely reported (the quote) in the beginning................

Just because something is 'widely reported' it does not mean it is accurate.

What makes the most sense to you? That mom was answering the first question, 'was this the right person?' Or that she was alluding to this ABC newsperson that her son was a killer and she always knew it was going to happen someday?

Over four months, he received more than 50 pkgs at his apt and school. On May 22, he bought a Glock, less than a week later, a shotgun. The following week an AR-15 rifle, it uses 223, same as the M16, except the M16 is automatic. He was using a drum, it holds 100 bullets, but the gun jammed. He started using another gun, no telling how many more would have been killed, if it hadn't.

He got explosive materials and equipment to rig his entire apt with booby traps. LE's not telling where he got the material for the devices. Then he got another pistol on July 7. LE said, 12 days later, he bought a ticket to the midnight premiere and entered the theater with the crowd, then slipped out and returned dressed to murder.

He walked in with those people, he saw little kids, teens, young people, he saw their faces, heard them talking and laughing, excited about the movie and still carried it out. This was not a thought he got while doing drugs and decided to go to the movies and kill people.

This was meticulous and calculated, probably started thinking about it long before the four months he started buying things. This doesn't include the studying of how to carry it all out, and how to rig his apt. He wore a ballistic helmet, gas mask, throat-protector, tactical vest and pants that he got online and it's not been told where he got the gas canisters.

Fair! DIfference between faking your the joker (role play) and obtaining 6000, 4 guns hs etc etc that would kind of make me think - that he really did believe he was the joker.
Ledger in the last movie was pretty scary -- while you were watching the character did you not suspect he might have been sick?

His obtaining the weapons does not make me think he believes he was the joker. It makes me think he is a cold blooded vicious killer.

Well he certainly didn't run around the theater with a toy gun.

This is NOT MI, this is PRIDE! That is what I was trying to say. JH WAS/NOW is ASHAMED at what he became!

Yep, pride, but I doubt he's ashamed being he took so long planning it. If anything proud, probably disappointed the apt didn't go up in flames. His eyes and brows changed when he heard the word media today in court. I really wish there were no cameras in the courtroom.

Intially it was "you have the right man" ( I had intense reaction to it- that is why I remember it so clear. In my head I thought gosh mom - think know whatever you know but just say No comment. If I can find it Ill give it but it struck me - and it got picked up on.
Now, we all know (look what I just did with that last one ) got it mixed up that the bar thing was two different days so maybe everyone ran with the ABC but (as is now being displayed!) huge difference in statements in terms of implications!
And dont know why , just moms reclusive stuff -- makes me believe the first one was accurate , like in her head (mom) ugh I am so tired, I tried to help him for so long, I knew something horrid was gonna happen) just like in resignation "yes you got the right man" We will never know huh, what she really said .

It never was "you have the right man." abc always quoted her as "you have the right person."

I dont know world prem of Batman hit, red hair, statement I am joker, then there is this GEM: There are eerie similarities between the massacre at the Aurora multiplex during a showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” and a sequence in a seminal 1986 comic book.

In the second issue of Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” a crazed gunman stands up in the middle of a Batman-inspired 🤬🤬🤬🤬 movie and opens fire inside the crowded theater.

Stunning!

Oh please. They incorrectly quote abc article. Reporter who interviewed her was from abc. That quote always was "you have the right person."

Of course mom is being reclusive. She has a younger daughter still at home. She needs to protect her as much as she can.

But the family has lived in the same home for a decade and has the full support of their church and community. They are not a weird reclusive dysfunctional family at all.

And YES, huge difference in implication between the two statements. But I see no reason that she would have told a random reporter that she was certain her son was a mass murderer at that point.

It seems pretty obvious to me that she was just waking up, as it was 5:45 am, and she was answering the FIRST question, which was is your son JH of Aurora Colorado? Her answer fits that question perfectly.

And I have yet to see any indication of any past mental health issues or hospitilizations or crisis. He may have had an adult onset of schizophrenia, which is quite common for his age and gender. But if so, then his family would not have had much warning it was happening.

You have great patience answering this more than once. Will people ever get that story straight?
And I don't even understand why it is relevant if his mother suspected him, he's been an adult for several years, doesn't mean she could force him into treatment if he refused... he was living out of state on his own, and not dependent on his parents for his expenses.

Well never know, I just remembered it for reasons outlined above. Do you have the link regarding the intial ABC report .. although moot cause the only one who will know is mom and the reporter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Certainly the "man" quote is far more dramatic but who knows!

His mother thought it was relevant enough to clarify that she didn't suspect him.
