Found it (thank goodness these docs have indeces) See page 349 of CA's depo (their page number, not pdf page number).
She parks outside the garage because the doors to KC's car are open.
Okay, but what I just posted above is when CA first came home from the tow yard, maybe she closed them before she went to TL's to get KC. But see their page 381, when CA comes back home from TL's, she says everything on the car was still open and LA was there.
So weird...I thought I knew this part of the depos well, still i went back and read the part you referenced (CA depo pdf pgs. 199-200).
LDB covered this very thoroughly. CA testifies the garage door is open, she's rounding the corner and LA is waiting to greet them ---
LDB: Okay. Was Casey's car still in there?
CA: Yes.
LDB: ---with everything open?
CA: Yes.
LDB: As previously described?
CA: Yes.
IIRC, CA's previously described that everything was open - the windows, doors, sunroof, hood and trunk. It was parked on CA's side of the garage. (something about there being more room so they would be able to open the car doors) They even removed the battery so that...well, let's face it, so Casey wouldn't drop by and take off with it.
Here is where it gets confusing for me --
pdf pg. 199, line 25 - CA says, "...as soon as I pulled in..."
pdf pg. 200, lines 4,5 - CA says, "...so when I pulled in, first thing, I parked the car, Casey gets out."
I interpret "pulled in" and "parked" as parking in the garage. It couldn't have been in the same "previously described" condition "with everything open" and they just pulled in and parked. I dunno. Maybe LA shut the doors so they could pull in. Probably not a big deal at all, but it bugs me. lol
