I don't think we know for sure his bag and coat were left...at least not officially. Only Terri's mom said that they had dropped his stuff in his classroom before touring the exibits and she would only know what Terri told her. LE never confirmed anything about his belongings that I know of.

Thanks, didn't realise that. I thought it had been confirmed about the bag and coat.

TrafficUP66, Oh what a dreadful story. I am sure there are other horrific cases we haven't heard of either. Unreal what some people can think of doing to a helpless child. It makes me cry just to hear of these cases. :(

  • #283
I hope they indict only if a jury can convict her...

and I never heard of that case outlined above, it sounds truly bizarre and I thought I had heard of most of them...yikes :(

I think it was back in the 80's or early 90's.

I'm trying to search the net to find out the specifics so I can post it. So bizarre, ITA!

Me too!
I was very young at the time and it gave me horrible nightmares. My son was just 6 or 7 years old--about the same age as this boy!
I've taken a long time out from here because of the heartbreaking case of little Haleigh. This just never ends. Short of putting 'chips' in our kid's as we do dogs,(mentioned on JVM last nite--hubby remembers us discussing this years ago tho!) what can we do to put a stop to these horrific crimes against children???
There has to be an answer.
But people such as those three, surely no one saw their true hearts.

But Traffic, chips won't help most of these kids, since it is usually their "caretakers" who are killing or harming them...far more often than a random stranger...

Sadly, how true.

I tried to add to that last post but got lost, lol!

I have also mentioned a few times about micro chips implanted in children to locate their whereabouts if they go missing. They would have to have some kind of tracking device like a G.P.S. in the chip as well. But, yes, i agree if it is their caregivers doing this, then it would not really work in that case, only to locate them more than likely if they are deceased, and disposed of, and then there comes the question of the parent or caregiver removing the device. It would work in stranger abductions though, and maybe make that type of crime obsolete. It would certainly point the finger back at a parent or caregiver though, if the child is missing, and the whereabouts of that child can not be determined. Then it might be more obvious to LE that it was done by a family member who knew about the chip, and narrow down the suspect or suspects.

Sorry, My last post was OT, but i feel something drastic needs to be done to save these poor babies from this horrible nightmare that goes on in our society.

ITA!!!

Who else would know IF or WHERE said chip was placed should the child be found without it!!! This would so help investigators/prosectutors!!!

It may be far into the future, but I do believe that one day all babies will be GPS'd at birth.

TrafficUP66, Yes i have heard a while back on a radio show i used to listen to that this is possibly the way of the future.

The difficulty of the title of this thread that "Is TH responsible for Kyron's disappearance'?, still leaves me baffled after all the posts i have made on this case! Sometimes i have thought "maybe", then i have thoughts as to "well maybe she didn't", it is such a confusing case. But then aren't others like this too? I feel so confused about it all. There is so much we probably haven't heard about. I try to think of all other possibilities, like "did someone purposely enter her life to try and get to someone else in her life by doing this"? And if she was a lonely woman she may have been easily befriended by some of the people she has gotten to know briefly or otherwise? It is like i said just baffling! I know the media isn't always a reliable scource, that has been noted. But, did anyone hold a bad grudge against anyone in this family to even contemplate anything like this? So many questions and so few answers and in the interim, Kyron is still missing as far as we know. And through it all TH still remains at the top of the list of being more questionable than anyone else in Kyron's life, because she was his prime caregiver, and she was the one who supposedly took him to school on the day he went missing.

I voted for certain TH is involved.

For many reasons, most of which has been discussed here at WS.

O/T but I just need to ask if any one remembers or heard about the horrific case quite some time ago, of a stepmother who donned a wig, went into the school and signed out her stepchild in the middle of the afternoon. She had TWO friend's with her, one drove, the other actually helped her kill this child in the backseat of her car as they drove around. It took a long time, the child fought so hard for his/her life (tho I'm pretty sure it was a little boy) they wound up stopping and setting him on fire.
TWO of her friend's helped her to do this over JEALOUSY of the attention the child received from his father. And, I believe she was pregnant with their child together and didn't want the stepchild in the way. From all reports of family/friends, she was a "loving and hands on stepmother"!
When I heard about this friend of TH's--DDS--I thought about this horrific case. I think there may have been a movie made.
Of course, she was identified as the one who signed him out and was caught. I don't remember much about the prosecution of her and/or her friend's. Wish I could remember the names but I don't.

I feel certain we've only seen the tip of the ice-berg when it comes to this woman and her ability to portray herself one way all the while a seething monster inside. Since she couldn't take it out on the source of her rage, she turned it onto a small indefensible child.

Most telling about her--is there is NO SECRET behavior she could have possibly been engaged in on that day that she couldn't now divulge fully to investigator's in order to 'clear' her name so that LE can 'move on' and the 'witch hunt' could be over. None. Not with the MFH and 'sexting' stuff that's come out.

The only thing worse is that she IS involved and has done something to Kyron therefore she CANNOT account for her time without implicating herself further.

I hope & pray the GJ indicts her.........

You're thinking of the Scotty Baker murder.

http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20104652,00.html

It was the step-mother's friend who donned the wig, and the step-mother who murdered the boy. Nobody else was involved.

I saw a rerun of a TV show--it wasn't America's Most Wanted, some other true crime show--a few months ago and immediately thought of it when heard about Kyron.

I'll see if I can find a link to the show.

Sorry, it was too late to edit my original post. It took me a while to find it.

It was originally on the FBI Files on the Discovery Channel. I think it's now in syndication. I saw it on a Portland channel, and most of the time I can only get KGW (no cable!) The name of the episode is "Betrayed".

Wowie. The similarities are chilling. Including the actions of the friend.

Yeah, that's me. Falling. Thud. I give. I can't keep thinking 2 + 2 = 857

I am trying to wrap my mind around someone who is so totally inept and tone-deaf to the point everything she does screams "GUILTY!", yet is such a mastermind that she thwarts LE at every turn.

I don't think she is a mastermind...I think her "helper" has just put Kyron in a place where he is difficult to find. She is so close to Kyron that any evidence could have gotten there innocently.

The helper just picked a really good place...of which there are so many in that part of the world.

Lots of inept perps manage to hide bodies so that no one ever finds them. Apparently it's not that hard.

Nothing reported has been confirmed by LE except that Kyron is missing. So, nothing sways my opinion except one fact that is known: Th gave up custodial and/or visitation rights to her baby, rather than possibly incriminate herself criminally. I have said this repeatedly: No innocent mother would do this.
So, yes, that fact alone convinces me that TH is guilty of something in the disappearance of Kyron Horman.

I am getting so irritated with this case that I'm close to climbing down off the fence.
