I agree with the VICTIM impact statements, but don't understand the reason for any on behalf of the defendant. Isn't that what the whole trial was about? THE DEFENDANT? IMO, the Judge has already mde up her mind about the sentence. If anyone wanted to speak on behalf of the defendant, why didn't they speak during the trial?

I just don't get it.
