BBM: I was thinking the same thing: When JSS mentioned time served, I thought OMG - is this for "time served" :gaah: !

Then she said natural life and I almost

When she said it I thought of you fainting and was sending you a virtual catch. :fainted:I'm glad it was the right sentence. :)

Even if she is granted an appeal by some unfortunate twist of the law, she is now on tape in court saying she cut his throat and shot him while he was alive and conscious. She tried to take a shot to hurt TA's family, yet all she did was make her life behind bars a certainty and it was clear the family's words infuriated her to the point she couldn't control herself.
BBM - Hoisted by her own petard! :happydance:

The fact that (apparently) Jodi decided to speak at the last minute, and the fact that she chose to use that opportunity not to beg for leniency but to "set the record straight," shows that the victim impact statements got under her skin. Way to go, Alexander women — job well done!

I agree. They made her angry and she couldn't pass up the opportunity to strike out at them even if it meant passing up the opportunity to beg for parole.

It was apparent that she blames them for her not being able to "settle" this with the least inconvenince to herself.

Shout out to PAJS.... Hi! :seeya:

Most of JA's family is probably relieved.

I thought the same thing. Just like Robert Durst's brother that has come out with a statement that the family was relieved he was arrested. They feared him.

I'll be on @NancyGraceHLN & KFYI tonight talking #JodiArias.

What a day.

I'm still floored about what Arias told the court.

It might be nice to believe that, but IMO she feels nothing but contempt for the Alexanders, she couldn't wait to stick another knife in them...

But that worked out in favor of the Alexanders and Jodi again showed her true self instead of more bs lies. She finally spoke a few words of truth. She totally remembers the crime and said as much. She gave Samantha a little bit of what she asked for, the TRUTH.

Amen. This judge has been afraid of her own shadow since day one. How about making a statement to the murderer about her crime? She sounded
like she was sentencing a shoplifter, no passion at all. She even counted her "EXPRESSED REMORSE" as a mitigator. I am so sick of this Judge!
I had a different perspective of the "EXPRESSED remorse" statement. IMO, the judge seemed to emphasize the word "expressed." I took that as the judge alluding to the fact that only Jodi's words have ever said she was remorseful, not her actions. We all know what Jodi's words are worth as in legitimacy. I actually think the judge was making sure to make it clear that she saw Jodi for who she really is.

She's gotten on my nerves for two years, too, but she got it right today.

Finally! Justice!

I read that a bit differently, thinking that the way she said 'expressed remorse' was akin to saying 'so-called remorse'. I think she had to list the mitigators but that doesn't mean she bought them. JMO.

Suz, I was wondering about how this could impact an appeal. However, she will claim her Transient Global Amnesia is wearing off, and don't forget her vile azz was calculated enough to throw in that he was still attacking her.

After today and how she tried to torment the Alexander's one more time, I really do hope to hear in the next few weeks that Prison Justice is to be her fate; may she get on the wrong side of another Perryville inmate and get the first of many well deserved 🤬🤬🤬 kickings, of which she will endure for the rest of her miserable, worthless life.

I really and truly mean this, because she didn't say anything to help get a more lenient sentence, it was simply her taking a final, painful shot at Travis and his family--She just showed the world that she is just like Richard Allen Davis-- a common killer who is a disgusting, remorseless, and vengeful waste of human life.

Ha ha - great minds (or fools never differ :) - I just hit post and then read your take on the 'expressed remorse'.

Good riddance to bad, bad rubbish. Now she'll fade into obscurity pretty quickly. If she had gotten the death penalty, we would still be hearing about her for years from all kinds of anti-DP advocates.

So she'll be in general population and she can socialize. Big deal. Let her go be Queen of the Cellblock. She will never see another sunrise over the mountains or a lake, or the inside of a Starbucks, again. Of course it will never compare to what she took so violently from Travis and his loved ones, but at least I hope her disappearance from the scene will allow his family and friends to get some kind of peace of mind.

I'd like to see a picture of her in a couple of decades; prison life generally doesn't do much for one's looks.

Well Jodi is SO remorseful that she is able to tweet about an hour ago this:

"Believe me, not everyone who can cry on demand is necessarily grieving."-- Abigail Van Buren (a.k.a. Jean Phillips)

That must have been pre-planned because Arias is not in contact with anyone today from her group of minions. I'm not even sure Arias is the one providing these quotes. I have my doubts.

In any case, not taking her bait, which is what she wants.

just noticed that JuansTie twitter is suspended! Is this new? and MLDR or the killer's twitter can't be suspended

I can't speak for the rest of the fine peeps here, but I'm putting the Jodi Arias case behind me. I believe that justice has been served with the LWOP sentence, and I doubt there are grounds for a successful appeal. Good riddance to the evil monster who brutally murdered Travis Alexander.

Does anyone know who, if any of JA's family was in the courtroom?

:seeya: Just her mother was there ...

Not her father, siblings ... no friends ... nobody ... nada ... zilch ! And not even Donovan was there because for sure, we would have heard about it IF Donovan was there !

Oh well ... :violin:

Her mom Sandy ... that's it. She was with a blonde lady, don't know who that is.
