Discussions on Formal Sentencing Hearing - Jodi Arias #12

I am so surprised this thread is still going.

She is gone. Over. The End.

Talking about her now makes her relevant..

So much of this trial was under seal and will be released now that whatsername has been sentenced. There are still some documents and interviews being released in the near future, so it's logical to come here, where people who have been interested in this case have come to discuss it in the past. If you are interested, I encourage you to return occasionally and join in with your own observations and opinions on the sealed court docs, sidebar transcripts (possibly audio and video, who knows) and the wheelbarrow full of binders from Estrella.

Many people have spent enough time together discussing this case here that friendships have developed, as well. We are not all true crime aficionados or trial followers—some people found this site just by looking for discussion on this case. That's wonderful, IMO, and I hope people will continue to interact either here on this topic or in the Sidebar thread on the fun spontaneous topics.

ZoeyW...is there anyway you can provide the links? I can see them at the bottom of each written piece but I cannot enlarge to read them. I tried to copy and paste, cannot do it either. I cannot read the black print at all....sigh I am computer challenged! Thanks!

Hello there, here is the link to the true author, Ralph Marston.
http://greatday.com/motivate/960422.html

She not only copied that blog of his, she also copied another "If". He was very kind and helpful when I spoke to him about it and Google cooperated immediately. The other blog in the photo is Jodi Arias' blog. Gosh I hate to link to it but for your reference here you go friend
http://jodiarias.blogspot.com/

His blogs she stole and posted on her own are no longer there. THANK YOU GOOGLE! I trust if I did even a quick search I would find her other blog posts are stolen as well but I am done with her.

"Gosh Jodi! If you had just stuck with Bobby, you'd be living in Hawaii right now!"

What's with Jodi's exes and Hawaii? Doesn't McCartney live there too?

At the bottom or her Perryville record it says she has a NR Detainer....someone said that means Notification of Release??...anyone know what that's about???

Detainer/Warrants
04/15/2015 NR CR2008031021 MARICOPA CRT CLERK

I'm thinking this is the "handoff" from Maricopa County court to Perryville. JA is "released" to AZ Corrections.

My conclusion is reached from this document: https://corrections.az.gov/sites/default/files/0901.pdf

BBM. One of my faves.... Flores at his manipulative best!

And then there are the false alternatives: "It looks like you planned it, but just looking at you (LMAO, Flores), that doesn't really make sense to me (ummmmm, right, EF): if you tell the truth, then I can know you didn't plan it." "What's a poor girl to do" [with those two options]? Either one, BAM!

And then the threat: "If you don't cop to any of it, we'll have to make something up to fit the evidence. We're very creative in that regard, and you won't like it." Bwahahaha!

Genius....

Did you ever get the feeling that the prosecutor's office loved this interrogation video as much as we did? For Flores' artfulness and Jodi's rediculousness? And they watched it over and over? And that watching it wasn't just a professional necessity?
I knew when she didnt crack in those interrogation videos ( confession) we were in for a long haul. I just never expected it to last 7 years. I thought for sure she would have cracked...especially after all the long silences after a question was asked by Flores and/or the female detective. She just wouldn't break. It was baffling.

:offtopic: :sorry: :whiteflag: but found a link here at WS for this case, just in case it hasn't been posted yet - WAY behind in reading:

I hope I did that right, still having trouble with windows 8.1, I guess I am a SLOW learner. LOL

Furthermore, I'd bet my home she authored the packet of letters that were submitted to the judge under seal from her family. If anyone in her family WANTED to be there, they would have been. If my daughter or sister's life were on the line I would swing rope to rope to get to there to BEG the judge.

I loved how JSS only allocated 10 minutes to read these letters. I'm sure she knew who wrote them and how irrelevant they were given that no one sppke for Jodi in favor of mitigation. I realize the break when she read them was longer than 10 minutes, but maybe she had to give time to everyone to use the restroom? Maybe she had a coughing fit or couldn't stop laughing at the letters? Maybe she called her kids to make sure they were having a good day? Maybe she had to steel herself to endure one final round with the Perryville Princess? Maybe she had to dream up that extra special sentence in the sentencing order?

Let's be appreciative of JSS: I can't imagine how she managed it all.

I can't recall who was asking if we thought Jodi Arias authored Sandy's speech. Yes, certainly! Jodi Arias has never had one original thought and she likely copied some of it from someone else too. Let's recall how Google had to remove her blog entries that she copied, outright from other authors.

E Bay wont be selling her art and Google will be keeping an eye out for anything with her name on it. She now has an audience of one. I think Sandy Arias cooperated with Jodi as a way to throw her a bone. Her visits will be few and far between. I do not think there is a genuine relationship there. Part of what Sandy Arias says publicly is to protect herself and to convince herself. Her truth was raw in the police interview.
We know that Sandy Arias does not believe Jodi has a beautiful soul. Indeed her exact words to Detective Flores were "Jodi has mental problems" .

Pop did not even blink. He instead went into the story of how Jodi snuck up on Travis' house and peeked in to his windows when he was making out with a girl, all the while she thought she was going to marry that dude. Good thing Jodi didn't prepare remarks for her pop to read. His absence spoke volumes.

Furthermore, I'd bet my home she authored the packet of letters that were submitted to the judge under seal from her family. If anyone in her family WANTED to be there, they would have been. If my daughter or sister's life were on the line I would swing rope to rope to get to there to BEG the judge.

ABSOLUTELY agree with everything you've put forth here, Zoey. I just wish we could see that packet of letters. I'm sure they would be illuminating. I bet the syntax and other "tells" would prove she was the author of most (if not all).

IMO, Killer's family not being in court, especially for sentencing, had nothing to do with finances. Where there is a will, there is a way...they would have been there if they wanted to be. One or two of the misguided would have paid their way if necessary, just for the asking.

Methinks they weren't there because each made a conscious choice to not be there.

A little bit unrelated, but I think the Alexander's leaving by a side exit after sentencing might have had something to do with Tanisha expressing to Judge Stephens in her victim impact statement that Jodi trolls had threatened her and her family.

Judge Stephens gave Jodi and her absent (too scared to testify) witnesses every protection available under the law, and them some. I think she was unaware of the cyber-bullying the Alexander family also went through.

Martinez knew, hurtful as it was to the Alexanders, that it was all bluster. Nurmi and Willmott, on the other hand, made a big deal about things, and made it seem like people's lives were actually being threatened.

In reality, sometimes lying liars (who post things on social media) are rightfully harassed. Had Marc McGee not made inflammatory statements online, no one would have been the wiser. If he truly wanted to remain anonymous, he could have done so.

@DoxingRx: #jodiarias is literally in Debra Milke old cell at Perryville Prison. Troy Haydon confirmed

Yesterday (I think) Caylee Advocate posted the lyrics to this from Judas Priest:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr2SaCyCCPo

I thought the lyrics were spot on.

Today, being reminded by Zoey exposing JA as a plagiarist, I visited JA's blogspot. This is what I found:

Favorite Music: I LOVE MUSIC - almost every genre ever created. In fact, my musical tastes are so wide and varied that it would be easier to list what I don't listen to: Metal. I have nothing against it, it just doesn't jive with me.

Hey Jodi, you might not like metal, but Judas Priest totally nailed you!

According to Troy Hayden (via a source Troy has), JSS wanted Jodi to get the DP. Troy said this on his most recent broadcast when he was answering viewer questions.

All those people who criticized JSS and swore she was on Jodi's side, letting Jodi have whatever Jodi wanted, and would allow the killer to walk free, had it all wrong. JSS was never going to sentence Jodi to anything but LWOP if it came down to her having to decide (according to Troy Hayden). Troy made a comment about the criticism JSS received over the months and he basically said it was never a concern (of his). Jodi was always going to receive either the DP or LWOP and the judge, hoping JA got the DP, made it so future appeals would not work to Jodi's favor.

Troy was also asked about Juror17 and his (Troy's) opinion was that Juror17 did not lie to get on the jury and as much as people claim she had a hidden agenda to save JA from the DP (which he didn't personally believe), he said he was able to identify maybe 5 or so people who appeared to have an agenda to make sure JA got the DP. Troy said, "so it works both ways..."

Troy put the onus on the county prosecution office on not looking into J17's info when she did disclose during voir dire she had 2 spouses who had priors (arrests/convictions). He said it was up to the county to do some checking into this, though he doesn't know why they didn't. Troy mentioned he did ask Juan about J17 in his interview with Juan, but Juan didn't want to talk about J17, saying it was water under the bridge (in essence).

The judge and Juan said NO. NO ONE is going to harass you. Not TODAY! They had the Alexanders escorted out as one final gesture. By God they certainly deserved it. It reminded me of when Steve Flores stood as Sam and Steven took to the podium to give their Victim Impact Statements. It was such as small gesture, of lovely old fashioned manners. I have felt so many times that from Juan and Steve. They are strong and sure, and have this quiet authority about them, it is like they are saying no one is going to hurt you today......not on my watch.

After what that lunatic fan of Jodi's tried to do to Nancy and Jane Velez Mitchell one cannot discern who is cyber bullying and who is a physical threat. The level of depravity it takes to email to Tanisha pictures of her beloved brother on the autopsy table is frightening. The emails were saying they would be there outside court that day.

I know the reporters have a job to do and would have liked a Alexander family statement, but everything the family wanted to say was done so in court and by Juan on their behalf. Thank God in Heaven Juan had them ushered out. All I know for sure is Travis deserved his zeal! Some situations in life just cry out for a hero. In the absence of parents to wrap their arms around the Alexanders and shield them.....Juan got it handled!

For all the alleged death threats the defense team claims to have gotten do you know the ONE person who actually was violated in this entire seven years? It was not ALV....it was Dr. Janeen DeMarte when her home was broken into. The police handled it with seriousness; because, she was targeted so overtly as the thieves took ONLY her laptop. You didn't see Juan making hay with it. ALV on the other hand lied to the court saying she was afraid to return to testify, afraid for her safety if she is tied to this case. She brags about being a part of this case on her website and has given two interviews and one speech that I know of ABOUT THIS CASE , since her testimony ended. There is a lot of crying wolf going on. Having the Alexanders walked to their vehicles in dignity was just a classic Juan Martinez move. No fanfare. Lions don't need to roar.

Troy is working on a documentary/special of sorts about Perryville, but he emphasized he will not be focusing on JA, nor will he talk to JA. He said the prison is not interested in JA being back in the media. A tweeter asked Troy if he'd want to interview JA again if he had his chance, in Perryville, and Troy said "no, I mean what's left, really. Plus cameras would never be allowed so it could only be voice...no...I just don't see the point." Troy said he'll update the masses occasionally on happenings with the Arias case (restitution, wrong death case if that occurs), but he's moving away from all things Arias. He sounded quite a bit burned out on her. He said his audience, by and large, are sick of stories about Arias and he gets lots of comments about that.

Troy said Nurmi dislikes him greatly, although Troy does not feel animosity back. Troy seemed to like Wilmott okay, called her a "nice woman." Troy went on record saying he had no problem with the defense team and "they were doing their job."

Troy said he would love to interview Judge Stephens, but he doesn't think that will happen since she's a sitting judge. He did say he saw her at the mall one time and they nodded and said hello. He compared the weirdness of that to "like seeing your school teacher outside of school at the mall." lol.

I always believed she wanted her to get the death penalty. Who can forget how JSS was practically moved to tears when the first mistrial was declared?
