I think the ultimate "she can't manipulate her situation in her favor" has to be getting required to wear a ponytail, i.e. the one you see in the new mugshot. I'll bet the rage in that picture was the result of some tiny demand like a required hairstyle and a tiny demand that the pose conform to prison standards. I wonder if they had to get physical with her to make this happen.

I still say she's obsessed with her hair. we've never seen it in a ponytail, and BOOM! REQUIRED!

She had a ponytail wearing the fake pink underwear pic. But, yes, her hair was her curtain, she used it quite a bit during the first trial.

That article confirms from the prison that JA has her own rec space. Is that the cage outside? No way should she be having an indoor rec space in addition to her cell! What nonsense is that? This is supposed to be prison, not a hotel suite.

The rec space is for her to be confined to on those oh, so rare occasions when she gets her one hour out of the cage. It's out of one cage into another.

Yes, I love it.

Just looked for C Olivas at inmate datasearch, and with that spelling it said not found

Yup. And she has quite a few piercing/tattoo infractions.

And her Ethnic Origin is listed as "Mexican American." I wonder how they decide who is what. Maybe it's a self-report? Maybe if both parents are US citizens but from Mexico you're "Mexican American?" Maybe if you're born in the US (like Jodi) you're considered "Caucasian?"

With Travis' book, Chris and Sky's book and soon Paul's the truth is being told.
These books are why I won't ever watch any of those 1 hour specials liked Snapped, Inside Edition or 48 Hours again about JA. They, for the most part, only tell Jodi's side of the story, which has been mostly proven to be nothing but inaccuracies, misconceptions and outright lies. They also don't tell the real story of the nature of their relationship or the murder, and they certainly don't talk enough about the truth of Travis' good nature -- especially in dealing with such a crazed person as Jodi.

For all the hoopla surrounding the re-trial, it definitely set the record straight on all that was unclear, overlooked or not allowed in the first trial. At least it did to me anyway. Thank you, Mr. Juan Martinez.

Now what is this all about?
"Jodi Arias update: Fellow inmate claims convicted killer getting 'special treatment' at Perryville"
http://www.abc15.com/news/region-we...iller-getting-special-treatment-at-perryville

Lockdown would be normal for her arrival. Hopefully she's not getting a carpeted rec room with a TV but I'm glad the other inmates already resent her and the attention she's getting. Then she'll get a not so nice reception when she's allowed to mingle with them.

I too am of the opinion the killer will try to take her own life at some point. I think she was absolutely flabbergasted that she got LWOP, and the killer believed right until sentencing she would get a possibility of parole. Her booking photo reflects pure rage. I will bet that today she is still in denial, and is using these first few weeks to observe her surroundings and how to adapt to assure her survival. When reality sets in and she realizes she can't manipulate her situation in her favor, she will try and committ suicide in PV. After all "death is the ultimate freedom", to quote the murderess.
Nah, she's too narcissistic to ever attempt that, remember a paper cut stings! She never actually wanted the Death Penalty, only the opportunity to join the class-action lawsuit to try to get it overturned so she could be the next Debra Milke. I do agree with you that her booking photo reflects pure rage- others have said fear or depression, NO WAY! The look in those eyes and the narrowing reflects a desire to kill. That's the face Travis saw while she was killing him.
Remember she also said "No jury will ever convict me, mark my words" and " If I ever harmed Travis I would beg for the Death Penalty". She lies- bottom line.

No, Jodi's father is Mexican-American, so she is too (at least 1/2). She self-reported the Caucasian because she tries to deny her heritage- just like buying all the sunscreen and becoming a blonde. As a matter of fact, my BFF in college- both her parents are Mexican (from Tijuana, Mexico). She was born on this side of the border (San Diego). That makes her a 1st generation Mexican American, although she frequently travels and spends time in Mexico with her family. My friend would never consider herself Caucasian.

That is odd. Who classifies if your "caucasian" or "Mexican American"? I am not sure of JAs heritage, but isn't her father Costa Rican, hence the summer visit there? (cousin with the same last name)

I'm not sure she ever went to Costa Rica. I think it was invented, but Arias is a common Hispanic surname. I think she self-reported.

I mostly agree except (for me at least), I don't think all that was unclear, overlooked or not allowed in the first trial has been set straight. I still have so many questions. But Juan Martinez did do a truly masterful job in rehabilitating Travis Alexander's character and legacy.

Also, as far as books written on the subject, I still take exception to Shanna Hogan's Picture Perfect. She seemed to buy into all the misinformation from Jodi Arias, including her trashing of Travis. Hogan was also among the first to refer Jodi as a "beautiful photographer and artist," a characterization which stuck, despite being demonstrably false. While beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, in terms of professional credentials, Jodi was never anything more than an on-and-off waitress at mostly low-end restaurants.

Since Picture Perfect was one of the first books to be published, I think in retrospect it's pretty obvious that in the rush to go to print, a lot of due diligence was missing from Hogan's research.

Gigi, thanks for giving the information about "Picture Perfect". I was thinking of buying it,and now I won't.

What I most interesting about this CO's record is that her prison job recently has been computer tech-adv and education porter. Makes me wonder if this is one of the inmates that her supporters reported she was reaching out to from Estrella. Hmmmm.

Yes, you're right. She probably stole that story from Deanna.

And... the supposed cousin's name was Victor- which coincidentally (probably not) was Travis's middle name.

Is that why she got her "story" out? To attract attention? What do you think? Hmmm. is right.

I don't know what to think. I notice this inmate also has 43 violations and her release date is August 2016. She is being held in the Lumbly unit. Certainly someone JA would want to conect with IMO. I am interested if she is putting out the special treatment rumor to upset Travis supporters or to have rumor spread about JA to get prisoners to dislike JA even more. I do not think her statements are true. No way are they going to carpet a room for her rec time. I am so curious if this was suppose to support or hurt JA, since I believe she may have had contact with JA or a supporter through her prison job while JA was still at Estrella.

So many coincidences, what are the odds? I'd say not so good...
