Most of the early delays were because of JA herself. How many stories, attorneys, mitigation specialists, psychologists and PI's did she go through, including representing herself twice to get her hands on evidence and to create some more? The actual trial, including both sentencing phases, was only 10 months out of that 7 years. And I do agree that about 5 months of that was caused by the attorneys she finally got stuck with when her manipulations were finally shut down. Or should I say, the attorneys that got stuck with her. I think there was a bit of payback in their approach?
She's the queen of manipulation. And she'll continue to wreak havoc from within the prison IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if she tries to manipulate herself right out of there by accusing staff of all kinds of human rights violations. It's just what she does. Hopefully they are prepared for it.
