BBM, JMO-OK, I sort of get it now, after reading the article. He's dotting his i's, etc. He already knows she'll be mad. Won't that be a fun day when her video chats are over. :)

http://www.fox10phoenix.com/story/2...-of-jodi-arias-lose-right-to-make-video-calls

"Arpaio says any discipline in the jail has to go through a committee, and that process takes 2-3 days. Only after that is complete could Arias lose the right to make calls."It takes a few days to justify why we have taken action on any violation of our policy, I want to make sure we follow the proper procedures, she's not going to like this," said Arpaio.

"She's not going to like this" ???!!! Spoken by the man overseeing a jail?? How is what she FEEEEEELS the slightest bit relevant or important? JA aside (or down, or under, whatever) Sheriff Joe needs to rethink the video chat thing for everyone in Estrella. His free-for-all policy is not going to end well. Duh.

I guess there is some merit to that but isn't there a law that prevents murderers from profiting from their crimes?

My feelings on this point are not about JA or to judge the Alexanders. I see this really broken hurting bunch of people. I just think there is a time you stop and save yourself more hurt and anguish. They have the right to do what they want and will, I just hate to see them destroyed by this anymore than they already are. It is clear that they are in unbelievable pain still.

BBM ~ I believe there is in AZ. It's called the "Son of Sam" law.

The only "good" thing to come from her all day video chats and visitors is the fact that when she finally does go to prison it will be a VERY different environment. She has been spoiled in that jail for years and even though some think she will get along just fine in prison, I don't. She is going to go crazy from being alone with no one to admire her and no one to manipulate. She will be alone all day for a long time. She's used to seeing other inmates everyday and talking to her cult followers all day long. It's going to be a drastic change for her. Good!

I think she will respond to that stark shift with acting out behavior, which, thankfully will extend her time in that kind of solitary lockdown. I hope she acts out ALOT in there and gets even more privileges removed. She will essentially create her own Death Row style living.

I'm sorry if I missed this but any word on how/when/where trial video will be released? I for one would love to watch Dr. Demarte's takedown testimony. The defense, not so much, but Juan's cross maybe. When will this become available? Sorry if this has been already asked/answered and I missed it.

Remember her time at Estrella is running down. This time next month she'll be spending her first day in Perryville. No video arcades...errr...video chat, strict enforcement of the rules, limited visitation, limited phone calls.

:seeya: Can't type today folks - had blood work yesterday and now a huge swollen arm. Ouch! Avidly reading though, and enjoying the video chat drama. Arias will be throwing a huge hissy fit. Love it!

Is anyone else appalled that she was allowed to video chat for 9 hours to 27 people on Sat.?
Everything with the killer is multiplied to the max! Then 10 people were banned for using fake ID's just to get to talk with her! A convicted felon & a person from Greece whom she's telling them to set up a trust for her! Using fake ID's to talk to her, they have no problem doing something illegal just to video chat with her! What power over simple minds she has!
Myself, personally- at 15, I would have no thoughts in my head to steal my parents credit cards to speak with a convicted killer! I mean, really? I wouldn't even be following trials then. Then the killer tells them how to get fake ID's so that they can call again!!! Is there a pattern here? Fake ID's for all!
With those girls obvious affection to the killer and with the killer's MO of manipulation- can you even imagine what she is telling them? They must've communicated with her before the video chat because Arias has to approve the calls. With her 'high sense of entitlement", (remember her long letter to her supporters about this), what else is she advising them on? Already they're lying, stealing, what next? I can hear it now, 'you are entitled, don't put up with it, kill the people who are being mean to you, kill your parents."!
It doesn't take much & the girls are halfway there since they idolize the killer. Remember Slenderman? and he was an imaginary person! Here is a real person telling you things to your face!!!!!!!
I really, really can't understand how things have gotten so far with this killer, like no other. 9 hours of video chats from her cell? WTF?

RBBM: Yes ... absolutely unbelievable !

BUT on the other hand: Maybe there is a reason that Sheriff Joe allowed this ... I know, but maybe there is a "method to his madness" ?

But seriously, JA likes to "yap" and maybe they were hoping for something -- anything -- for her sentencing, etc.

I know ... wishful thinking ...

:) Trying to think positive here.

It was tweeted today how JA gets her twisted views and words posted on social media. Video visitors show her their laptop screens- typically with FB and Twitter pages displayed. She reads from the screens and then tells the visitors what she wants posted.

How in the world any of this is permitted is beyond understanding, especially since the video calls aren't even recorded. In other words, anyone in Estrella can be contacted by anyone anywhere, be given access to any information that can be viewed on a computer screen, talk about anything, talk to as many people as they want, any day, even when in "solitary" confinement.

Money is the only reason I can think of for why Sheriff Joe allows this. The few dollars reaped per call obviously trumps every other consideration, including common sense.
Conversely, it would be easy for a inmate to hold up a piece of paper (such as a list of juror names) and allow the video visitor to take a screen shot of it.

No kidding! They can continue to run a business/deal drugs/pimp,threaten people, you name it. Isn't jail/prison supposed to remove you from society?

Typically a jail is used to temporarily detain those who are suspected or convicted of a crime. It is used for the short-term, usually to hold those awaiting trial or to hold those convicted of low-level offenses that have sentences of one year or less--hence the rules and privileges are very different.

Prison will be a shock for Travis' murderer and she can't get there soon enough IMO.

This is why, IMO, Travis' murderer and her DT have dragged this out so long--I also think the reason the she and her team fought for more time before sentencing was so Travis' murderer could help and advise all of her followers on how to stay in contact with her once she is sent to Perryville.

She is definitely her own worst enemy. I think she's going to have a hard time reaching even that initial 30 days with a perfect record to start gaining additional privileges. Everyone is talking about how easy Estrella is compared to where she's going - and she has not even been able to stay out of trouble there. I'm sure she tells everyone that none of it was ever her fault. There's no way she will stay out of trouble - it's not in her makeup.

I agree Hope, however, Jails are, in their original conception, intended to house those who are awaiting trial (hence not convicted of anything) or those with low level offenses and short sentences. BUT if we are forced to use Jails for, even in a temporary capacity, convicted murderers (those found quilty) and the like, then this ridiculous practice needs to cease or they need to remove all privileges until they are sentenced and transferred.

Will we ever be able to see all the transcripts? Does anyone have any idea when? I want to know what exactly went on in all those in chamber conferences.

Jodi is the equivalent of a human <modsnip>.

You stomp on her one place and she manages to pop up somewhere else.

She STILL has not been sentenced for what she was convicted of over two years ago, which is part of the reason why she is able to get away with these absurdities. Until she is sentenced officially, she still has all the same freedoms and perks as the rest of the unsentenced inmates. Arpio's hands have been tied by those legal loopholes.

Most likely Slurmi and MDLR have constantly reminded Arpio not to infringe on Jodi's "rights" as an unsentenced inmate.

Come April 13th, things are going to get very quiet in here, unless JSS caves in and extends things another 30 days.
By bending the rules, being disruptive, and making Arpio's life miserable, she's simply making it worse for herself.

Those people at Perryville are going to be ready for her. Once she is sentenced, her lawyers are going to have very little say what happens to her, along with very restricted access.

She's not going to be ready for them though, and she doesn't realize it. She lives in a fantasy land that is going to come to a screeching halt by nightfall on April 13th, 2015.

Court is working to move up #JodiArias sentencing to later this month, according to multiple sources. Reason unclear.

Jury selection started on Sept 29, 2014 and proceeded for several weeks.

The trial phase itself started on October 20, 2014 with opening statements by the state.

and how far in advance does Maricopa send out the notice to appear for potential jury duty? We got ours about 3 weeks in advance here in GA and my daughter in CA got hers just about one month in advance.....
