Southcitymom, you are an ignorant 🤬🤬🤬🤬!

(Not really, of course. But this is getting sickening.

I would like to remind us all of the immortal words of that great 20th century American philosopher, Bette Midler:
You had me at "I like a woman who speaks her mind" but now that you've gone all butch on me I love you even more!

It's very important to me to have online crushes on strong, happily committed gay men who I've no chance of luring back to the other side of the fence!

Thank you for the kind words about my friend. It's still like it's just a nightmare.

I can appreciate your point of view---I'm certainly sick of Tom Cruise also  LOL....;)

I'm sure it is a nightmare for you and his family. It just broke my heart to read your post.

Each night I when I watch TV and I see all the faces of those that have been killed, it makes me sick. I do think that something needs to be done...but I have no clue what.

And I can't even imagine going to bed at night wondering if my loved one in the military is alive or dead, hurt or not.

Back to a serious note, I'm with you one this, luvbeaches. It is heartbreaking and I am not wise enough to have the answers. I have no one close to me over there - thank the Lord - but I do grieve for those we have lost and are losing. My prayers that it all will end soon.

Sometimes it is hard for all of the passionate people on Websleuths not to take things personally! But usually we do a really good job of keeping a civil tongue in our heads, I think.

I always appreciate what you add to this board and am deeply respectful of your opinions even when they differ from my own. Maybe it's because we both love beaches!:)

We are a passionate lot, aren't we? But you are right, we do seem to all do a pretty good job of keeping things civil. :)

Speaking of our love of beaches....we just returned from a 7-day Caribbean cruise! We spent last Friday sitting on a beach in a cabana (on Half Moon Cay, Bahamas)...with a butler who fetched drinks, schlepped our things, and brought us food. It was 85 and sunshine with a nice breeze....now I am sitting in my house with a pile of laundry, no butler (wouldn't that be the life?) and 5 inches of new snow. At least I have my pictures...and memories! It is rough coming back to my "real" world!

We also do not have anyone close over there, nor do I know anyone who does. It is so hard to see the faces of those young men and women who have lost their lives in this war (and each night, there seems to be so many more added to the already long list). So many of them are the same ages as my children, and I can't even begin to understand the level of grief that these families are going through.

And like you, I do not have the answers, but I do pray it will all end soon.

Wow - that sounds amazing (the Caribbean Cruise with a butler, that is - not the house with a pile of laundry - that, I got!!). I'm glad you were able to sneak away from the snow. Re-entry is always dreadful - takes me at least a week to feel right again...

It was nice...it was the first "big" vacation we've done without kids (one or more always wants to tag along, but none of them like to cruise, so we went without them). It was like our honeymoon except we didn't argue and we more money. lol It took 30 years to get to this point...if only I had a crystal ball back then. I would have enjoyed things a little more before my little darlings started arriving! :)

Re-entry is dreadful. For a whole week I felt so special...and it's rough finding out that I'm really not. haha It does take a week or more for me to feel right again...especially after cruising. I never get seasick on the cruise, but I totter around like a drunken sailor after the cruise. I have to take motion sickness meds for a few days after the cruise.

That's offensive. It's fine for you to support the Chicks...whatever...but just because we don't agree with you (or the Dumb Chicks) does not give you the right to say such a thing. :(
No doubt. It's really a sad commentary if we've gotten to a point where a pissing contest errupts over who is "more American than thou."

Thou being that great big fuzzy, not meaning you. Thou in general. :)

I thought they won five grammys not four.
:waitasec:

Anyhoo, They didn't win anything from the country music awards. They got Grammys last night but no CMA.

I hope that was because they don't consider themselves country singers anymore. I listen to two country stations and they do play their old music but nothing from the new album.

What really ticked me off at the DC's was that 3 years later they came back and picked right up where they left off like they had never been gone. I think most everyone had basically forgotten about the big fight but no they had to come back and revive the whole thing instead of just keeping their big mouths shut. I can't stand them. They put Reba McIntyre down big time and that was it for me. Reba is loved by everyone...except the chicks I guess.
