OMG! It was like the poor thing was trying to commit suicide!

I know I would if I had to live at SeaWorld (or similar parks)!

I got that impression too.

I think this is total BS:

"Hideshi Teruya, who manages the dolphin section at the park, said the it suffered minor scratches and bruises on its head and fin, but had a healthy appetite for mackerel and squid after it was returned to the tank.
He said: 'It was playing around and jumped out by accident from the momentum.''

Perhaps I'm being too sensitive but he could have referred to her by name or 'the dolphin'. Instead, she's just an 'it' that lines his pocket full of money along with her fellow dolphin friends/family. I don't know if they captured them all from one pod at the same time or broke up pods for the show.

I don't think you're being too sensitive at all.

But I assume we are reading a translation of what Mr. Teruya said in Japanese. Nuances of meaning may change accidentally.
