Shoemaker is now investigating ways to set up a non-profit organization. He says its purpose would be to 1) help get the word out about Haleigh’s disappearance, and 2) serve as a way to gather funds to pay the private investigator.

From Angel Who Cares links posted in Stickies in forum: video link mentioning future plans for searches and actions to find Haleigh.

Ronald Cummings' lawyer on the next step

Shoemaker says much of the talk has revolved around where Ronald would like to see this investigation go. He says the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is doing an excellent job following leads and tips, but a fresh set of eyes may benefit the investigation.

“What we’d like to do is hire an independent private investigator that would allow them to look into some different areas, check down some different stories that have come in and possibly lead the investigation in another direction,” said Shoemaker. end

If anyone finds an update and link to the fund please post to get the information out there. I'm praying for 4 investigators to be hired.

Me too Kool, and once that's set up properly I will contribute what I can towards that, I hope his lawyer assists with the selection.

I have refrained from saying anything about donations; on either side. But I do want to say, that I see lots of people here that are Christians, and a lot of prayers here for Haleigh. I am confused, I thought there was something about people living in glass house, not throwing stones, or casting stones, or people shouldn't judge other people; something like that in the Bible. So I say, if you want to cast that net out there, why not just ask. Ask where to find out how a foundation spends it's money. I bet it's on line somewhere. Biz.org I think. Or write to the HBF and ask them. I bet you could find out. But I won't be back to what you found out, cause I only care where Haleigh is. I don't care if Ron got a tat, or Crystal got a new hair do. bbm, that's your words not mine. I never said one or the other parent grieved harder than the other. I pointed out the type of loss Ron has had. The type that effects your everyday life and routines.

Desparaging Ron doesn't change what has happened, nor change the opinions of those who see what it is.

Okay! Using your logic, the individual who suffered the biggest loss was . . . Misty.

Yeah. That was as despicable of a post as I've ever read on this forum.

No offense, but that's not the same logic. Misty has/had nothing to lose. She was only there a few months, if that long.

I don't know what mirror you been lookin in, but Ron is lookin better to me than in the beginning. I think it's the circumstances, as tragedy often grows character within a person. He's looking much more manish.

Yeah. I love a man in a suit, too.

But Neves said how much Misty loved the children. Misty was the one who would have helped them with their homework (or not), gave them their nighttime bath (or not), fed them a nutritious supper (or not), and took care of their day-to-day needs. On a day to day basis, Misty would have spent more time with Haleigh than Ron.

The core loss people would be those "who were actively supporting and tending to Haleigh on a daily basis."

Thusly, the mother of this child who was probably murdered doesn't count. Misty does, by that definition.

I think I'll go and pray for Misty. Poor little waif.

I've barely been able to bring myself to read much less post on HC forum any longer for the baiting and bickering. For this reason, I will bite my tongue on the subject of donations, and feel compelled to add only the following observation fwiw.

The nature of the circumstances of Haleigh's disappearance is as of yet unknown. And as I've tried to point out, whereever we may be suffering due to our own anger, recklessness, deceitfulness, selfishness or foolishness' sake eg or refusing to accept responsibility it remains doubtful we can genuinely grow in character or "manishness." And even in the absence of any involvement or knowledge on our part this remains a common misconception. It's not mere circumstances at all, but our response to those. Experiencing a loss or tragedy of some other kind doesn't equate w brokenness nor guarantee any maturity ("manishness") at all. It's still an individual choice whether we're willing to be broken by those--or to harden our hearts all the more; whether we stand against injustice, and humble ourselves etc, or choose a path of self-preservation. Clearly people experience tragedies w/out ever growing in character.

Afterall, the same sunshine that melts the butter hardens the clay. JMO

IMO, RC and TN are going the exact same route as the Anthonys have.

Now, they are using the excuse of a a foundation to hire investigators...and it is an excuse. There are investigators, plenty of them. If RC and MC do not care to talk, it is in vain. Shoemaker is a Shiester, IMO.

Again, why does RC need an attorney? Is he now going to claim it is to get a foundation and hire investigators to search.....yeah, right!

Yeah, but if he gets a foundation going, he can be like president of it or something, and that will be his job, so whenever he has to go to court for custody related issues, and that will be his job he can present to the judge-

Snipped.

Why does Ron need an attorney?

Pending criminal charges related to Tommy - Terry Shoemaker.

Pending DCF investigation - Terry Shoemaker.

Divorce - Brandon Beardsley.

Any ongoing child custody related issues with Crystal - Brandon Beardsley.

What is so hard to understand about that? Attorneys are there for any number of reasons, and many adults in this country have them.

The color of the suit makes all the difference...I prefer to see him wearing an orange one.

When a parent of a missing child hires a defense attorney, it raises red flags for me. Always has, always will.

Pondering, this thread is disturbing, no doubt about it. It is distasteful that derision is cast upon a mother who lost her child to some unknown act, and a generous stranger threw a concert to help any way it could to, more than anything else, raise the spirits of those involved intimately with Haleigh: Her family, and those who have helped search for her.
I once asked how much more petty could people get. I have my answer, I believe.

Thank you Sam Watkins and those who helped put on the concert. Thank you anonymous donors everywhere who have helped raise the reward fund. Thank you to Tim Miller's friend for writing the check for $35K. Thank you to the folks who have donated to the Watts fund. Thank you to everyone who donated to HBC. But most of all, thank you to those who gave money for the family to just get through their day in those early weeks after Haleigh disappeared.

To anyone else who feels the need to know, contact the State of Florida and inquire.

This thread has seen the last of me.

This thread has seen the last of me as well, debs.

Simon Barretts site has updated news: Attorney for Ron Terry Shoemake is reporting Ron has hired a female private investigator in the hunt for Haleigh. Good news to me, hope they hire 3 more and work diligently towards finding information.

Here is a video link to the Concert in Texas that claims the proceeds would go to the "Haleighbug Foundation", Tim Miller of EQ and or to raise the reward money.

http://www.youtube.com/v/PlIvegg871Q&color1=0xb1b1b1''

Did any of our websleuthers attend? If so, would love to hear comments about the concert. Towards the end of the tape, you can see a banner at the bottom of the platform saying " Let's Bring Haleigh Home". Wonder what the tshirts that are sold look like? I've never seen one before.

Here is the first post from this thread with links to infomation about the concert benefit ahead of time.

BENEFIT CONCERT FOR HALEIGH CUMMINGS

On October 17, 2009, we held a Benefit Concert for missing child Haleigh Cummings.
We had a dream of how it would all turn out. Life is not a dream and reality doesn’t always live up to our dreams, sometimes it just works
out in a different way. Like most of the country, we had been seeing Haleigh’s picture everywhere. We fell in love with her; and because of our past experiences
we felt close to her family even though we did not know them. On October 17, we met them. We met her mother Crystal Sheffield, her
grandmother Marie Griffith, and her 10 year old aunt Savannah. Crystal and Tina embraced immediately, two mothers that know what it is like
to have a missing child. more at link above.
