Logical Girl- I would no doubt feel better about the world in general if I could agree with you about Cindy. Just can't.
My awareness of and interest in this case came way later than most folks posting here, which probably makes for a difference in perspective. I didn't know of Caylee until half way through her mother's trial for murder.
The who-dunnit was totally obvious to me from the start, and I have never doubted that Caylee was murdered by Casey. What sucked me in was why she did, and what if any role did her family play in making Casey who and what she is.
The Cindy-Casey dynamic was for me the proverbial chicken and egg question. Did Cindy make Casey crazy or did Casey make Cindy crazy, or was Casey just born crazy?
There is very little out there that I've found about Casey's early life, so can't answer if Casey was born crazy. After reading every last transcript and letter available, and after watching every last video of every last Anthony available, I was 80% there in my belief that Cindy made Casey crazy, albeit a Casey who was probably genetically disposed to craziness.
Then came these Dr. Phony interviews. Now, I am 100% sure that Cindy was crazy YEARS before Caylee's birth, that whatever the exact flavor of crazy she is, it is deeply ugly, and that it is the kind of personal-evil crazy that functions as a black hole, sucking the emotional health and life out of anyone who comes near.
Really, my questions are answered, thanks in part to so many though-provoking posters and posts here, and really, I am done with the Anthonys. I truly hope I am not alone in that, and that a lack of interest will completely dry up any market anywhere for all things Anthony.
The sole exception will be JA's book, which I will buy as an expression of thanks for all he did to try to have a child-killer locked up and the key thrown away.
