I found out about this a few days ago because her family lives in my area, and friends of the family were posting flyers in several of our local FB community groups. I waited until there was a news source link to post.

UPitt college student on a spring break trip with friends. Went missing on the beach at 4:50 AM.

I've seen a lot of reviews of the resort and also social media reports that the resort has been without power and water. I've also read that the ocean has very strong rip tides in that area.

I hope SK is found! My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Here is an article with a current photo matching the description of what she was wearing when she was last seen. The article also mentions that the resort had been without power, water or food for days.

Edited to add that this is the same article I posted before, but it has been updated with the new picture & more info on resort.

Following.
What a beautiful young lady.
The power going out at the resort does not sound like fun for anyone, yet sometimes people are able to make the best of it and still swim and they'd have food available, even if there'd be no iced drinks available, or anything cold ?

Was Sudiksha possibly swept out to sea ?
My first fear was that she was taken by an unsavory type, but from the articles it sounds like she was with people, but not close together--so if someone grabbed her the others would've heard her crying out for help ?
Imo.
So sorry for her worried family and friends.
A fun vacay turning out like this. 😢

I am curious to know if neighboring resorts were also without power, water and food? Could SK and her friends have been walking from another resort (to charge phones, use bathrooms) and making their way back to their resort? Were they followed? Walking with new acquaintances?

If the power was out for the area, the beach was most likely very dark. Also if there was no running water, did they go into the ocean to relieve themselves because that would be the most sanitary and private place to go away from hotel guests and resort cameras? I read that the rip tides are so strong there that you can be pulled out swiftly and quickly in mid thigh water.

MOO, I think her missing is suspicious. I don't think she would have gone into the ocean alone? How did she get separated from her friends?

Another article with info about search efforts and contact info tips.

"Anyone with information on Konanki’s whereabouts is urged to contact local police in the Dominican Republic at +1 (829) 618-7635 or reach out to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office at +1 (703) 777-1021."

Missing since the 6th.
Searching started the 8th.

Why does this look terrible. Terrible.
Didn't the group she was with wonder where she was ?

"We now believe there were six female students of the University of Pittsburgh traveling in Punta Cana,” Julia said. “At least two of whom, including the missing person, are residents of Loudoun County.”

Had she separated from the group and they assumed she went back to the hotel ?
Or was she out for a swim alone at 4:50 am.
Make it make sense, or something like that.
Imo.
Omo.

The LCSO said that, upon being notified of Konanki’s disappearance on Thursday evening, the agency immediately followed up with federal and state law enforcement officials, as well as contacts in the Dominican Republic. The Embassy of India in the country has “taken the lead” on the ground, the agency said.

Loudoun County officials have also been in contact with the University of Pittsburgh, as well as Konanki’s family, amid the search, a spokesman for the college told Virginia outlet WVEC.

I thought of Natalie Holloway when I first saw this yesterday, as I thought she was on a sponsored trip. But I see that's not the case.

As of Sunday evening, three Dominican officials tell ABC News the Pitt student may have died by drowning after she went for a swim and was caught by a big wave.

His daughter told her friends Wednesday that she was heading to a party at the resort, he said.

“She went to the beach on March 6 early morning around 4 a.m. with friends and some other guys they met at the resort. After that, her friends came back after some time and my daughter did not come back, did not show up from the beach,” her father said.

Her friends alerted authorities when she wasn’t in her room the following morning, her father said.

I wonder if she had a working cell phone with her. The Daily Mail article mentions other guests were trying to charge their devices but doesn't specifically mention if S.K. had a cell phone at the time of her disappearance.
