Since some reports out of the DR seem to indicate local authorities think she might’ve drowned in the rough water, I am imagining a big resort like this one would have posted some kind of warning on its beachfront/beach access path, but I don’t know for certain if this one did. Unless I am mistaken, we also don’t know if the group that included the missing young woman was hanging out on the resort’s beach OR on a beach outside of the resort property that was open to the public.

I was just in Cancun 3 weeks ago (before college spring break) and was woken up at 4am by people frolicking and laughing in the waves. All week the resort had red flags posted but people were swimming day and night. I was shocked that people were swimming in the rough surf at night but it was probably their first night of vacay and they were excited/ whatever. People think they are invincible- until they aren’t. So sad

Sudiksha's Venmo information indicates a couple of payments on the 5th. One for Coco Bongo, presumably a nightclub in Punta Cana, and the second to a "New User". The payment to the new user was listed as a sailboat emoji. Both payments were made before she went missing.

Is there an allowed source for this, please? (Article in mainstream media, something from law enforcement, etc.?)

As an update, I have reported my original post and have asked for feedback on whether Venmo is an allowed source. I didn't see anything listed in the rules about it so I'm unsure.

LE says they think she drowned.
She was seen swimming or at least on the beach with this young man that police have questioned. Did he tell LE she was still swimming when he left? Or she told him she was going swimming? That’s the only way I can think of that LE would tentatively conclude she drowned.
Why do they believe him?
I don’t know, it has a strong Natalee Holloway vibe to me. Young people vacationing and partying. Leave with locals. Culled from your friends. Now you’re dead.

Around 5:55 a.m. Thursday, surveillance cameras captured five women and one man leaving the beach, while Konanki is believed to have stayed behind with a young man, the local police source told CNN.

Later surveillance video shows the man leaving the beach area at 9:55 a.m., the source said, with no sign of Konanki.

I admit I'm on the fence as to whether Sudiksha actually drowned, as opposed to a far grimmer scenario ?
Either option is horrible, but if sudiksha is alive, & someone harmed her or has her held captive --- hoping she could be rescued !!!!

Thinking about her family during this agonizing wait for answers.....

People will take their vacay $$ and go elsewhere .
It might look better for the resort and the country if it's believed she drowned, as opposed to a homicide ?
Otoh, if the man hurt Sudiksha or worse -- make an example of him, and enact the harshest justice allowed, to put fear into others with evil intentions.

I wonder if she had a working cell phone with her. The Daily Mail article mentions other guests were trying to charge their devices but doesn't specifically mention if S.K. had a cell phone at the time of her disappearance.

It’d be crucial to know if she had one and whether it was tracked.

I think local LE’s response to Natalee Holloway’s disappearance was similar in that it was focused more on protecting Aruba’s tourist industry than finding NH or those responsible.
I hope that’s not the case here, but considering it was two days before they even started looking for SK…it’s a bad look.
Right now, to me, nothing adds up. The information gleaned so far doesn’t match what LE is saying, in my opinion.

Makes sense....she would not take her phone in swimming - THIS is not a good sign.

If they think she drowned it is due to something this young man told them. IMO he is lying the ground work for her to be found in or near the water.

First bolded : At least her father is raising the alarm about other possibilities !

Second bolded : I'd like to hear more from her friends about that night, and what they've said about this ; was the man last seen with Sudiksha -- someone they'd spoken to ?
Anything sketch happen that night that they now remember.
If there was a party, did any of the men they'd met say where it was ?
Did Sudiksha ever say she was going swimming ? Or just that she was going to a party.
Was there a party ?

Of course, there is no evidence yet of any foul play, and no persons of interest, I'm just asking questions hypothetically !
