Totally off topic, but interesting. If it has been made known just buzz and I'll edit.
Forks Wa. days before Christmas held a cattle call for the new "Twighlight Reality Show" I wonder if the producer had a marketing survey done concerning the amount of undersirables that live around the South Sound? Oh I forgot Hollywood wants the looney in tude! If were not privy to those MySpace open accounts allowed by their caretakers to be made public, the twighlight theme running through it, I probably wouldn't take notice.

On a spiritual level is anyone seeing or feeling so many coencidences when sluething that take you back to looking at some we have sluethed here in a different light? Maybe they changed your mind into looking at the case differently? I know the astros at one time said something to the effect of keeping it simple, looking at those around the mother as the astros said a person was haging out around the community center on the fringes right before the class search. If I remember correctly the astros also said another around the mother was also showing false support. Who might be keeping something hidden about the crime from the public that knows mom well enough to share their devotion and support of Lindsey? Is it as simple as figuring out the charts?

Good questions.

I know that as an outsider coming in late -- dragged in, really, I didn't choose to see these things -- I have felt completely bewildered by the whole situation. It's not just that there are so many people and so much complexity. It's more like trying to feel my way through the fog.

It's like there's a gigantic pink elephant in the middle of the room, but I can't even see it because everybody's so busy denying it exists. I can see its shape, I can tell when I run into it, but I can't see what it looks like. Or more correctly, I can't see who it is.

Thank you for saying this, carbuff. I feel the same way.

I never really believed that I would solve the mystery of what happened to Lindsey Baum, but something stronger than my logic keeps whispering to me, "try". It is crazy-making to realize that there are clues I've never heard about, and suspects I've never imagined, running all around and through this thing, but I can make friends with knowing that, and still remain hopeful. It is this other thing, this pink elephant of yours, that slams the brakes on my optimism.

Do they not want us to care? To try? How can that be?
How can we not?!

Who would have thought right here in Washington state we have a town that seems to mimick the town of Satsuma, Fla. The only difference to me is a different type of angst and darkness blanketing Lindsey's case. Sometimes I think it's a form of "fear" and not the type of fear that warns you like Lindsey felt but a fear that says "Stay out of this as your ideas are discounted and we will run our town and are own investigations as we see fit." This heavy dark cloud feeling of frustration is what evil banks on and that is what spurns me to not give up even when faced with contoversy. I stand up for truth & openess for Lindsey and for the life of me see no gain by anyone to not intigrate their theories with others. Maybe this will be the month of enlightiment, the "beacon" (astros) that will shine and lead us in the recovery of Lindsey. This case is spiritual IMHO in the way it tells of the human condition within the town. Many people in need of spiritual awakening by the account of local ministers and people who witness to the folks who live and work hard while living on the edge of society. Something dark in secrets kept must be what drains one spiritually. The sad thing is all the people that could be POI's (and there are many that have unfolded over the last 6mon.) may not be helping in finding Lindsey because they don't want to be exposed for their secrets past and present and it has nothing to do with Lindsey. Fellow dedicated posters I'm right there with you and truthfully can't understand. Is playing ignorant a blissful state of mind in McCleary? I know there is a tweaker problem that can cause a town issues financially in mental health related crimes. but meth doesn't make one Blissful & ok with their mode of being. What needs to give for all the secrets to come flowing out? Wow that is a hundred dollar question?

<snip>

This is what I think is happening.

I suspect that at the very beginning somebody told what seemed like a very small lie to protect themselves, and they're now caught in the snowball effect and can't see their way out.

I also suspect that at least some people in LE have a very good idea what happened, and they don't need theories. They need tangible evidence that they can take before a jury.

I'm gonna post a couple of more things -- they're kind of off the wall, but maybe they'll give somebody who's closer to the scene an idea how to proceed. Back after I find the photos...

These photos are from the Straddleline ORV Park website. Does anybody know what that building in the background is? The sign behind the guy's head seems to say something about shelter. I've poked and prodded through Google earth and another satellite site but haven't been able to identify it; the trees are too thick.

http://www.co.grays-harbor.wa.us/info/ORV/PhotoAlbum2009Jeeps/proofSheet.asp?img=ORV003.jpg

Is this the same building? Note the piece of earthmoving equipment -- wouldn't take long to bury something with that.

http://www.co.grays-harbor.wa.us/info/ORV/PhotoAlbum2009Jeeps/proofSheet.asp?img=ORV032.jpg

Another view of the loader, or maye a similar loader. Apparently they use it to reshape the course. There's disturbed and damaged earth all over the place. Notice also the standing water. I mean, ORV's and mud, right? But I'm also thinking what the astrologers said about the water.

http://www.co.grays-harbor.wa.us/info/ORV/PhotoAlbum2009Jeeps/proofSheet.asp?img=ORV021.jpg

But there should be something red. I still can't find the thing that's red.

Sometimes shelters have the sponsor name like Elks or Kiwanis club on the wood signs...?

Google satellite maps above the orv park show a large red roofed house or barn to the north of the entrance road. I think there is a concrete bridge over a creek to exit the highway nearby.... :twocents:

I am so relieved to have finally found this thread! I make no claim to be psychic, but I occasionally get strong feelings about something - and sometimes they prove to be right. Like many of the posters on this thread, I get an extremely strong sense of water whenever I see a picture of this precious child. Unsure if she is in it...or was transported across it.

I just joined that site yesterday or the day before on FB! Cosmic! You landed on the right thread and were glad to have others with a sensitive spirit join in. It's nice to have a place to express why you feel a certain direction in sluething is pulling you to it.

One thing I can say is the losses touch each of us and leave us all saddened. This speaks to the character of us and renews our committment to the work. Maybe along the way we will help this town & others improve commuity relations and safety. :applause:

I am not familiar with that place, carbuff, but I did go to the website of Straddeline Raceway- ORV Park and Campground, last night, to look around. They say this about shelters:

Located on 150 acres nestled in Capitol Forest (Black Hills), Straddleline ORV Park is located just 20 minutes west of Olympia, Washington on State Highway 8. Straddleline has wooded and open camp sites , fire pits, meeting hall , restrooms with showers, concession stand , covered grandstands , and picnic shelters .

They definitely have some heavy equipment up there; see here:

And, from 2/05/2007, snip>>>
Straddleline is also trying to purchase the states gravel pit next door to the park expanding its boundaries significantly.

Straddleline ORV has a new logo.. The logo currently is on the front of the concession stand and on a couple of signs around the park. I can hardly wait to see it along the highway the bright red and yellow colors are sure to grab the attention of passersby.

See it here, bottom of page:

Might the 'new' bright red and yellow logo be your red thing?

Another image I seem to get often is of Lindsay crying. Thus, I don't think she fell into rushing water and drowned. It breaks my heart to even try and speculate what she might be crying about...

Thanks! Yes, that logo could very well be what I'm seeing, if it's painted on the side of a truck or a building or something similar. It's closer than anything else I've found. Don't know why I didn't notice it before, probing around on their website.

Was that gravel pit searched last summer or fall?

Wish I could make out the rest of those words on the Shelter sign -- but the picture itself is fuzzy. Enlarging/zooming doesn't help...

Like on the ferry to Canada? That's what I've begun to think lately.

Welcome to Websleuths, b4e, and welcome especially to these threads for Lindsey! I hope you will feel free to discuss your dreams and intuitions about her here, where such gifts as yours are valued and respected.

Trying again,my third time so I'm going to brief, Slogan a jingle you would here on tv or radio? Slogan describing an activity or event/ Slogan desribing a business? A resort, golf course, park beauty, camping or fishing? Maybe this, "Give a hoot don't pollute", Smokey the bear, "help stop forrest fires?
Was reading back through this thread, and came across the ^ above. Perhaps the logo for Straddeline would also fit here?

Yes - exactly! And if I think about her on a ferry, I am sensing she was below the water level...trapped or being held somewhere below deck.

Several of them gave me twinges, but Port Townsend Terminal made me shiver...

  • #698
There is another ferry line that goes from Port Angeles to Victoria. It is the Black Ball ferry line.

Might mean absolutely nothing, but that Port Townsend picture made me feel afraid.

  • #700
I was thinking Port Angeles, but yeah, Port Townsend is one of the creepiest things I've seen in a long time.
