I too believe he WILL be arrested for murdering his wife. I trust the detectives working on this case, it's the DA's office I worry about!
Maybe they can make up some more DNA evidence... :furious:

Lurker, this is not what I nor anyone that has been sleuthing this case wants.

With all eyes on Durham right now, I am hopeful that if and when an arrest is made it will be done with the utmost professionalism.

I would believe if it was my family member that was murdered the family and friends of Janet would want the real murderer put behind bars and not someone that was set-up.

Unfortunately, in cases like this, with no witness, it would still end up being a circumstantial evidence case and all the more reason for every I to be dotted and every T to be crossed.

We saw in previous cases, the insane antics a defense attorney would go to to get their client off. i.e. Scott Peterson trial and all the red-herrings, insinuations that Laci had a boyfriend, Asian Mafia, men in Brown Vans, Cults and the strange conspiracy theories out there.

Lucky a jury of Scott's peers saw through these antics.

We also saw through the OJ trial, issues with "double-jeapordy. Any sort of mistep in procedure, a man that may have actually murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman could be out at the golf course playing golf and living his life without being punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Please note that though OJ Simpson will NEVER be able to be tried for murder, he was indeed found guilty in a Civil Law Suit.

We also saw that witnesses in case can effect the outcome of a case i.e. Michael Jackson.

Nobody wants another OJ, and Michael Jackson may indeed be a child molestor, but neither case can be tried again.

Justice for Janet is the most important thing. I want the murderer of Janet to be arrested and prosecuted for the murder, fair and square.

I just know that if and when the murderer of Janet gets arrested that indeed there will be antics played out by his defense attorney. A defense attorneys job is to win, whether or not their client is innocent or guilty and many defense attorneys will do whatever it takes, including coming up with silly theories, red-herrings, etc. to get their client off.

I hope that the DA's office get's their act together, because now there is so much taint going on that even if an arrest was made, it could be muddied because of the three-ring-circus type atmosphere in Durham, North Carolina at this time.

I am still keeping my faith in the "Homicide Division" of Durham Law Enforcement and believe they want Justice for Janet and her unborn child.

I will just have to have faith that if....or more likely when an arrest is made that the person Prosecuting the case handles the case professionally and with diligence and pours their heart into the case.

DA's office will have a tough road ahead of them, and I'm hoping that the Duke matter gets cleared up and the DA's office will handle this case professionally and with diligence and they pour the time and attention to handle this case ethically and with extreme care.

Great post Trix.

I think disgusting is the word I would like chose for this.

There's still a murderer walking around free.

Who believes that if the murderer was arrested tomorrow, the issues going on with the DA's office, could muddy Janet's case by association with the DA's office?

It's a shame, I worry that all pending cases and even some future cases could be sullied by the things going on right now.

No worries - I'm sure that the murderer won't be arrested tomorrow. Or the next day for that matter.

Look back honestly, everyone. LE's never really given us anything. The only time they've spoken out was to buy themselves more time. Now that it's been nearly two years, it's time to look at this realistically. Either the killer did a good job making sure that not enough evidence was left behind or someone dropped the ball.

He doesn't have a conscious, this I know. If he did he would have not, IMO premeditated and carried out the Murder of his wife and his unborn child.

If it was a crime of passion, he would have confessed, he would have come forward. He has lied about so many things, even things that are insignificant. This guy may have moved on with his life before he murdered his wife and child imo.

I do believe he is not happy with Websleuthers, and he probably sees us as people "picking" on him. I am willing to bet he complains more so about us and LE (stating he talks to them) and blaming things on LE.

Raven is one that will deny to the very end of his days. I just hope that the end of his days is him wearing an orange jumpsuit and behind:behindbar.

Not to bash the Governor, but common sense states that once a person gets into a position of power, and Nifong's record shows that he did have designs at a higher office, it should have been abundant during the interview process that Mike would then feel the pressure to run, because of the time he spent in that office.

If Nifong was actually "interviewed" wasn't he asked what his plans were for the DA's office?

Who all was interviewed besides Mike Nifong? I would like to hear this information.

Was Freda Black interviewed for this position?

Let's not forget, the DAY after taking office he handed Freda Black a resignation letter. That right there should have been the cue that this man was going to run.

It seems these recent statements from Governor Easley is a way of passing the buck. He appointed Jim Harding to Judge. He also chose Nifong. HE states "OUR STAFF" interviewed him. "WE DIDN'T THINK HE WOULD."

The standard of care in appointing a DA should have been no different whether it was an interim DA (to take care of the office) and someone who was elected. The DA Job is an important job. These cases, like Janet's and any other case is important, and to state - we wanted someone to hold the office together.....is a load of crap.

There was still over a YEAR to go until elections. DA's job isn't a job to "hold the office together." It's a serious job and a serious business!

Easley was not running for Governor again, so why is he trying to pass the buck?

I heard a rumor that Attorney General Roy Cooper may be running for Governor, and that Easley was done in the Governor's office.

Let's all come clean - I MADE A MISTAKE...and move on, this passing the buck crap isn't helping the cases that are sitting in the Prosecutor's office right now and those that should be sitting in the office, like Janet's!

Don't worry about bashing the Gov on my account, he has made some bone headed moves where this whole Nifong thing is concerned.

My issue with the Governor is this....what he is doing..with the interviews on Nifong, is going to end up bordering on what Nifong did with his interviews if he doesn't close his trap soon!

It's going to backfire and Nifong will then get a chance to claim unfair trial & hearing.

I mean....it's common sense here.

Where is the Attorney General in all this? Roy Cooper? He was elected as Attorney General in 2000, won again in 2004 and the rumors were all over stating he was running for Governor and this was OVER a year ago.

Elections are in 2008! Easley's out, who's coming in?

http://news.google.com/news?q=roy%20cooper%20&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&um=1&sa=N&tab=wn

Let's just google Roy Cooper....Lots of Attorney General News Stories out there.

So is Cooper running and for what office?

I find an article stating he decided NOT to run for Governor (why's that?)......

He is supposedly re-running for Attorney General position in 2008.

He said, she said, who's running for what?

Things are getting really squishy and pressure sensitive in North Carolina right now, politically speaking.

The clock ticks while the murderer of Janet and her unborn child is still running around free.:banghead:

p.s. edited to say.....lol come on my Governor is the Terminator...I'll be back!

Easley was a great Attorney Gen IMO, but as Gov...eh. Who knows what's gonna happen.

I scanned the internet nonstop the weekend of Janet's Vigil and I kept coming up with information that the Black Panther Association was hosting a Rally at Duke the Monday after the vigil.

That was the biggest news coming out of Durham/Raleigh area that weekend.

In the end, Nifong has done so much damage, including inciting much unnecessary racial tension. It angers me that Nifong could promote such a blatant disregard for any progress towards uniting all of the citizens of Durham. This case should have been about a girl who claims she was raped by some males, race should have Never come into play.

Reminds me of a song: (the word *pitting* in place of killing)

"Empire"
By Queensryche

"Brother (pitting) brother for the profit of another, Game point, nobody wins, Decline, right on time, What happened to the dream sublime? Tear it all down we'll put it up again Another EMPIRE."

The Empire was Nifong's. Sad

WOW. What the heck is up with District Attorney Nifong???

Check this out!

http://www.heraldsun.com/durham/4-836493.cfm

Judge takes step to free armed robber

"DURHAM -- Durham's senior judge took the first step Thursday toward unlocking the prison door for convicted armed robber Raymond Lee Parker, who has been behind bars nearly 28 years -- longer than most second-degree murderers and more than twice the time he could receive under current laws. "

snipped

"District Attorney Mike Nifong, who last month argued against a change in Parker's sentence, could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Parker, now 53, received his 40-years-to-life term in March 1980 after being convicted of holding up a Sunbeam bakery in Durham.

That was the penalty prescribed by law at the time, even though Parker stole only $173 and no one was injured.

But the law changed in 1981 with a so-called Fair Sentencing Act, which made 40 years the maximum prison term for armed robbery. "

So basically, Nifong went to court to argue against letting this man out, who spent 28 years in jail? The man stole $173.00 NOBODY was hurt and the man spent almost 28 years behind bars......and Nifong wanted to keep the guy there???

Yet, we have a guy that murdered Janet and her unborn baby out on the streets, doing whatever he damn well pleases, and Nifong hasn't even touched the case.

I must say thank goodness an arrest hasn't been made...YET! I wouldn't want Nifong's hands on this case because this man is a complete and utter screw up.

No Excuses Now For Nifong In Duke Case

(CBS) Attorney Andrew Cohen analyzes legal issues for CBS News and CBSNews.com.

~~ clip

Using remarkably blunt language, Cooper blasted Nifong over and over again during Wednesday's dramatic news conference. He called the district attorney a "rogue prosecutor" who proceeded with "bravado" rather than with "caution" in evaluating the case. He accused Nifong of jumping the gun in the case — "a tragic rush to accuse," he said — and of failing to verify the accusations with any sort of strong evidence. But Cooper went further. He didn't just declare that the young men could not be convicted beyond a reasonable doubt, Cooper said outright that the defendants were "truly innocent" and that "there was no credible evidence that an attack occurred in that house that night." In a matter of minutes, the Attorney General thus gutted the District Attorney like a fish.

So basically Nifong tries to indicte three innocent men and yet we all know there is someone out there, that is guilty of killing an innocent young woman and her unborn child.

There is a man in jail for 28 years, who stole $173.00, nobody was hurt, yet Raven embezzles over $10,000.00 worth of merchandise from his company and he gets a 2 year probation, a slap on the wrist and get's to leave the state, even though his wife and unborn child were murdered and all indications, IMO is that this same guy that embezzles the $10,000 worth of merchandise is also a murderer..

What the.......is up with this?

I am still dumbfounded that Nifong had the gall to walk into court to argue against letting this man out after spending 28 years in jail.....when Raven got 2 year probation for $10,000.00 embezzlement.

I have more faith in the ADA's in Durham District Attorney's Office than Nifong.

I have spent a lot of time looking up the Durham Dockets and those that are handling cases. Most cases are then passed from the FONG to Assistant District Attorney's.

Many of the ADA's that are handling homicide cases have really good track records, which is a complete boost to my morale in having faith that even with or without Nifong in office that there are competent ADA's out there.

Thanks Jersey for the info on BugMeNot, I have used in the past.

I would have probably subscribed fully so I can get their archives, but I will wait until I see a better retraction of their support from Nifong, as I felt it was not enough or more articles regarding Janet and Raven.

Now some of you Raven supporters may be saying, how hypocrital of Terminat...here she is bashing a man, a newspaper, groups of people for the "rush to judgment" in the Duke LaCrosse case. There were so many inconsistencies in this case from the get-go. I knew that Nifong was going to pull something, I knew that the DA race was going to be a big deal and stated so many times, here and elsewhere. I also knew politics was the main factor for a District Attorney to pick up a case like this right before an election.

Difference is, no matter how you slice it, in my honest opinion, I believe 100% that Raven Abaroa is the one that murdered his wife and unborn child. I have nothing to gain, and nothing personal to lose in the outcome of this case.

I'm a hypocrite :slap: there, I hope that makes some of you feel better.

My loss will be a murderer that got a way with murder. Even if this case went to Court and somehow this sociopath was found not-guilty in a court a law, I will forever know and believe in my heart that this guy did it and the ultimately judgment will be passed down by God.

Disbarment is too good for him.
Prosecutors have an immense almost unchecked power in most cases.
To abuse that power at the cost of three lives is a disgrace.

I hope they sue him...if they can.
