If you go to this article:

And click, then scroll to the bottom, there is a google map. It shows where marks house is and where Middle Mt. road is, in relation to each other.

I believe that Mark had to drive about 5 miles to the lake, near Tristan's house, to get onto Middle Mt Rd and then go North to the gate.

Right yes , that's the road I was looking at. When you said right by MR's house, I was thinking one of those small neighborhood roads went through but I might be looking at an outdated map. tks

Ok, gotcha. I meant 'right by his house' in reply to PinkDragon, with the question about him having to go down to Bayfield first and then around and up to Middle Mt.

But in the larger scheme of things, Dylan being found less than 10 miles away is pretty darn close to Mark's house.

I agree.

Also, if Mark 'always' thought a local friend or acquaintance had pulled up to the door and picked up his son, then WHY was he having posters made for distribution in Germany, Australia and Mexico? Why was he telling everyone to stop searching the local area and wanting everyone to focus on his Super Tour
of the Southern states?

And why was he pointing the finger of blame at those in Colorado Springs?

Also, didn't his friend on the Tricia show say that MR had recently talked about Dylan venturing out across the street, across the creek/river (because it would have been low at the time), and into the woods? Where an animal could have gotten him?

The problem I have with Dylan grabbing a ride off somebody that pulled up the house is

A. He had time to watch tv and eat breakfast and so most kids (IMO) would get out there phone and text there friends or go on Facebook or twitter as he by the sounds of it was in no rush

B. if he had grabbed a lift to his friends house why did he take all his belonging that he brought for this trip with him , why had he not taken some things of his bag by this point ??

C . If somebody picked him up then I would of thought he would of texted his dad to explain he did not need to rush back as he had got a lift . From all accounts Dylan was a peace keeper so why would he of worried his dad without letting him know about the ride ?

D. Its a very rual area so if there was a car up there and its one way in and one out why has nobody in that vicinity ever come forward and said they saw a random car ?!

:cow:

A) That's the one we all want the answer to!

B) If he wasn't happy being with MR and had perhaps argued the night before, maybe he intended to spend his entire holiday with his friends, so took everything with him, as he had no intention of going back to his dad's house?

C) Same as above, if not talking to his dad, may have thought "let him worry where I am, he should have taken me yesterday"?

D) Isn't it quite a secluded area? And if it was still quite early, then maybe nobody was about to see anything.

As for his belongings and backpack, I would have expected them to be found first. I can understand that his remains may be scattered due to animal activity, but no animals would bother with a backpack full of clothes .... so where is it?

I was looking at the list of items taken during the search of MR's home earlier (and lost the post so sorry I am not quoting it- think it was before this new thread began.) There were swabs taken in the common areas like the sofa and I am wondering why no swabs were taken in his bedroom? If he did in fact sleep in his room that night, then why would sitting spaces be swabbed and not his bed? No bedding removed... Or did Dylan not have a bedroom/ did he sleep on the sofa? Why would they swab the sofa in the first place? Did something seem suspicious? And there were phones and ipods taken during the search. Who owned the phones and ipods? I can't imagine a teenager packing up all of his stuff and leaving behind music...

here is the link.

Some have mentioned that may only be a partial list- but the reason why "swabs" were taken of those areas was because there was a presence of something like blood or bodily fluids detectable with plain sight or with luminal ( some chemical agent which shows areas where there was cleaned up blood or body fluids)

I am just sick at heart.............

Yup.

He also told his friend that he didnt know about the massive search before he left for Denver on Tuesday. But Elaine discussed that search with Tricia on the radio, and then it was posted on FDR, his 'official' site, soon after. Now it did say that they needed civilian volunteers, which was incorrect, but it was posted and discussed on the site. So I have a hard time believing him when he says he did not know about the search before he left town.

I tend to believe it was the opposite. He did know about a massive LE search of the Middle Mt. Area and so he decided to leave town. JMO

9Wants to Know has learned from Dylan's dad, Mark Redwine, that that only a few of Dylan's bones, including a leg bone and a shoulder bone, were recovered. Mark Redwine says investigators also found shreds of one of Dylan's shirts. Mark Redwine says deputies took him on Saturday to the area where his son's remains were found, and the area stretched 1.5 miles in length.

Sheds of one of Dylan's shirts??? Does this mean the one he was wearing, or one from his backpack?

IMO - he had to have known . This was not just put upon him when it must of taken weeks or months to get such a massive search team together from all different compartments . Because everybody's schedule would of had to of fit together as it was a 5 day search .

:cow:

IMO - He knew pretty much what they would find and he wanted that time to drive home to prefect the victim angle and get his game face on :moo:

She says cause and manner of death may be "undetermined". Meaning they will not be able to classify his death as a homicide?

We are missing the back pack and the fishing pole. Those should have turned up. Even if the wildlife smashed it around the the elements took over for the winter, they should still be there IF Dylan went hiking willingly.

I do wonder what happened to the fishing pole as I can not imagine wild life eating metal/plastic . And its clearly never turned up or mark would of sad IMO

The new story....

http://www.9news.com/news/article/343074/222/Redwine-death-will-likely-remain-undetermined

KUSA - The La Plata County coroner says it is unlikely a cause of death will be determined in the Dylan Redwine case. Coroner Jann Smith says she will probably have to rule the cause and manner of death as "undetermined."

The remains of Dylan are still at a Colorado Bureau of Investigations lab, and they may be examined by both the coroner and an anthropologist before an autopsy report is completed.

I am even more sad and disheartened. I hated to read this.

BBM Sounds as if any examination hasn't yet occurred

:twocents:

Yes I think the backpack should have been somewhere in the area, if not a homicide. Trying to think of other ways, besides location, that they can classify as a homicide. Not having much luck but then I do not know what else was found. LE has been quiet all along, so they may have much more circumstantial evidence than we know. I do think they wanted to show MR the remains and examine his reaction.

"I've been up on Middle Mountain several times driving through there, trying to see if there's any particular area that kinda stands out to me. It's a road about 10 miles long up into the back country, so I mean it's very heavily wooded...there's a million little side cutoffs for ya know ATV type vehicles and motorcycles er hiking trails and things like that, so there's a lot of land here that we're talking about to cover...ya know nothin specifically jumps out at me and that but ya know there have been locations throughout...cuz right now you can only get so far up, um it wasn't until recently that I realized that they even had a gate up there, but at this point in the year there's still snow up there in the higher portion of this road, so they don't even have the gates open to be able to get up there. Now I do know in communicating with law enforcement that they've been up there and that's how I know this n that but ya know I don't know exactly where to look so I mean I get out and I can wander around and I can look and do whatever...but ya know the canine team...
======================================================

Here he is rambling on about the disposal site, assuring everyone he does not know exactly where to look and never even knew there was even a gate up there....

Backpack, fishing pole, ipod, phone, chargers...all those things, seems like at least one of them could be found.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest they were disposed of in another area, and probably the pole is with the backpack. Just my guess though.

Since everything he brought with him was gone from the house, all of his things would have been with him, had he "walked " up there. So there should be more clothing, various devices, charger, underwear, hoodie, etc. and we only heard of one sock and part of a shirt? Is that right? If so, sounds like he was probably wearing those items and the backpack never made it up there at all.

As early as the June 2 radio show, he knew it was coming up - he said Elaine had told him about. He might not have the exact dates at that time, but that was more than 3 weeks before the search.

Also, didn't his friend on the Tricia show say that MR had recently talked about Dylan venturing out across the street, across the creek/river (because it would have been low at the time), and into the woods? Where an animal could have gotten him?

Has that interview been trancribed? I heard her say "Dylan would have been able to cross the creek" and TMK she did not say this information came from Mark. The person who made this comment is a local resident so this is why she knows it can be crossed.

This just in - I just posted it in the forensics thread but am bringing it here for those that don't want to look in that thread:

From Twitter:

Melissa Blasius ‏@MelissaBlasius 3m
La Plata County Coroner: Dylan Redwine's cause of death will likely be "undertermined" based on lack of remains found. #DylanRedwine #9News

This could be devastating. Possibly more searching could turn this around.
